Astrology for the week of Sept 14th

For Bitchscopes, I combine traditional Jungian astrology, feminist concepts, and shadow work.  I don’t track just the planets, I also track goddess-named asteroids- I recently added the Dolly Parton and Gloria Steinem asteroids to the goddess pantheon.  If you are interested in deepening your relationship with the Divine Feminine, willing to work in your shadow, and want to empower your life, please join the Bitchcraft Blanket Fort!  This week asks a fairly simple question that may have a very complicated answer: Which commitments support the life you are building—and which ones survive only because you have been afraid to disappoint someone? Juno stations direct in Capricorn on September 16, so relationships, contracts, promises, and obligations that have been under review begin moving forward again. But Juno is squaring both Vesta and Eris in Aries, which means we cannot recommit by sacrificing our purpose, autonomy, or righteous anger. Some agreements can be repaired. Some need better terms. And some were only sustainable when one person kept making herself smaller.

The week begins with an extraordinary cardinal goddess cross involving Pallas in Aries, Lilith in Cancer, Fortuna in Libra, and the Steinem asteroid in Capricorn (you aren’t going to hear about that anywhere else!!!) This brings strategy, protective anger, justice, opportunity, and institutional power into the same conversation. It asks us to see the system clearly—including the part we may have been playing inside it. Circe in Virgo trines Steinem, giving us language for what we are finally ready to name. Sometimes the breakthrough is not discovering something new. Sometimes it is admitting that we have known for quite a while and were hoping the situation would somehow improve without requiring us to make anybody uncomfortable.

Neptune’s exact sextile to Pluto reminds us that this personal reckoning belongs to a much larger transformation. The structures are shifting because the stories supporting them are dissolving. Chiron retrogrades back into Aries on September 17, reopening questions around identity, anger, independence, and the right to exist without apology. We may encounter an old version of the wound—the place where we learned that asserting ourselves could cost us love, safety, approval, or belonging. But we are not returning to that wound as the same person. We have more language now. Better instincts. And hopefully much lower tolerance for bullshit disguised as obligation.

Meanwhile, Ceres continues trining Dolly, reinforcing one of my favorite lessons of this entire month: generosity does not require self-erasure. You can love people deeply without becoming communal property. You can honor where you came from without allowing it to determine the limits of your life. As Dolly moves into an opposition with Eos, goddess of the dawn, something new wants to emerge from what we have survived—but this beginning must belong to us. We do not need another fresh start built on the same old unpaid emotional labor.

The Sagittarius First Quarter Moon on September 18 pushes the Virgo New Moon intentions into action. Sagittarius wants faith, freedom, and a bigger horizon; Virgo wants a plan that can survive contact with reality. By September 20, Jupiter’s quintile to Uranus may reveal an unconventional solution, creative opening, or new way forward. The answer may not look like what we expected…but it could fit who we are becoming far better than the commitment we have been dragging behind us out of guilt.

This is not necessarily a week for burning every bridge. It is a week for checking whether the bridge still leads anywhere you actually want to go.
