Ridiculously Optimistic! BitchScopes for Feb 1 - 7

For the last couple years, I feel like I, and many many other astrologers, have been saying over and over “things are intense” or “things are challenging”. And I’ve joked with my astro colleagues about it. I wondered “are we just a bunch of jaded assholes now? Was there a time when things were not so damn intense? I don’t remember!”

But guess what? This year is going to be quite a bit less intense and problematic than the last couple. It will have its bumps and challenges of course, but this year is not defined by Saturn Square Uranus, so that’s a big help. The Capricorn stellium has been breaking up slowly, and that helps. And this week we have a stunning array of positive aspects and transits. So much so that I had to double check myself. Am I drunk? Did I read this correctly?

I was not drunk, and I did read it correctly! So take off your rose colored glasses, because you won’t need them this week!

Last week Venus stationed direct and she is slowly building up forward momentum so your financial and romantic life can make some progress. This week we have Mercury going direct in Capricorn, after a bassackward romp through Aquarius. We can start to feel more confident in our goals and plans, as well as our expressions.

There are no major transits on Wednesday 2/2, and I almost joked that you could take a nap that day. However…2/2/2022 is irresistible! The day of 2/2/2022 is a 1 vibration, which is about bold beginnings. And the month of February is an 8, which is a number of authority and power. First of all, the moon is in Pisces that day, which lends strong intuition all on its own. But the number 2 is also intuitive. This is the number of balance, partnerships, and cooperation. 2 is a feminine number that is associated with inclusivity and intuition, and also faith. The 2 correlates with the High Priestess in Tarot, who is powerful and intuitive, but her strength is quiet and doesn’t need a show. She doesn’t question what will come, she has faith in her position and in her instincts.

It would be silly for you to not take advantage of not only the new moon on Tuesday, but this powerful energy on Wednesday to as some kick to your manifesting activities and rituals.

Later in the week we have optimism and motivation, as well as increased personal power and recognition, along with opportunities for meaningful leadership.

How can it get any better than this?

If you’ve done any clearing work with me at 12Listen, you may have heard me suggest this phrase to you as a powerful transformation tool. It works, and if you use it regularly, you will see big shifts in your life for the better. When you find a dollar on the street, instead of saying “hmpf, I wish it was a hundred”, or “well it doesn’t get any better than this!” (which limits you to one dollar as the maximum surprise reward) say “woohoo! How can it get any better than this?” and leave the door open for even more pleasant surprises!

Last year was rough. This year is not going to be without its challenges. But let’s just revel in this week’s beautiful and positive energy as much as possible. Roll around in it. Swim in it until your fingers are wrinkly. And, congratulations on the fabulous things that you are about to attract into your life!

Tuesday 1 February 

New Moon in Aquarius (9:45pm 1/31 pst, 12:46am 2/1 est) - set intentions around friendships, group projects, and humanitarian efforts. Make a list of your hopes and dreams for this year, or the next 6 months. This is the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Water Tiger. Expect big changes and some volatility. Be bold and take big actions!

This moon does square Uranus, so be flexible and go with the flow when unexpected changes arise. But you may be able to exercise your rebellion and spicy ideals. If you feel bajiggity, that’s Uranus acting on your emotions. The good news: Venus trine Uranus can bring some spiciness and romance to your life, or perhaps some kind of bonus money.

ARIES - The area of your chart getting lots of love and luck has been, and continues to be, your public sector. This week it continues to gather energy, and the new moon happens in your house of hopes and dreams, friends, and associations. The public facing and social part of your life is on fire in a very good way. Take advantage of this time and set some intentions to grow your business and connections this week!


TAURUS - You are refining your beliefs and expanding your knowledge of the world and who you are in it. There’s a bit of a reinvention happening, or a coming of age (depending on how old you are). This new moon hits your house of career, reputation and ooooh, destiny. That’s a big word that I try not to throw around too much. But you probably are starting to feel a gentle tingle and pull towards something. Use this moon to set some intentions and manifest what you would like your life to look like!


GEMINI - You have been in the deep waters of intimacy for a couple years now, really learning more about yourself in how you deeply connect with others. This probably has you feeling pretty antsy and ready to go out and DO some stuff, rather than feel all the stuff. You’re ready to explore, expand, and connect to the world at large. Use this new moon to manifest that vacation or adventure you’re craving. The time will come sooner than you think.


CANCER - Your life will continue to be focused on your partnerships and intimate friendships for awhile. If there are changes you’d like to see happen in those relationships, this is a great opportunity to set intentions and manifest those things. Uranus may inspire you by way of making you feel a bit restless. It may be time for a little getaway with your significant other, or with your BFF, to just let off some steam and experience some new stuff.


LEO - If you’ve felt that your routine or work day schedule has been messed up lately, that should be getting better very soon. That may mean forcing yourself to leave the office for a treat yourself lunch at least once a week, or going to the park on the way home from work and getting in the swings. Make your work environment a little more colorful or playful. Let the border between work and play blur just a little and see what happens.


LIBRA - This new moon invites you to play. Imagine what your life would look like with play incorporated on a regular basis, and then set intentions for that. Your kids or family should be a part of this plan, ideally. Or maybe your physical home needs a make over that adds color and warmth. It’s time to be creative about home and family. Even if you have to just start doing it by yourself, the energy of change will bring your family in around you and they’ll join in.


SCORPIO - If you’ve felt like you can’t get the words out right lately, that should be improving with Mercury direct. Your thought processes should gain clarity and you won’t have to work so hard to turn your thoughts into words. This will be important at home and with family. This new moon invites you to create the kind of home life that really makes you sing. That may be physical changes to your home, or changes in how you and your family function within it. This can be an ongoing project all year if you’d like. You won’t regret it!


SAGITTARIUS - If there’s been a hiccup in your finances, you can blame Mercury. Things should straighten out with Mercury direct. You are likely to see an income increase this year, if you haven’t had it happen already. Don’t get too lost in the dollar signs. Make smart investments for the long run. This new moon gives you a chance to learn something new, so whether its money, or another subject…dive in!


CAPRICORN - Mercury retrograde happened pretty much in your front yard. And while it may have brought necessary attention to some things, it can still be a pain in the ass. You’ve been pretty hammered the last few years, from all the heavy activity in your sign. But you know what makes all Caps happy? Money. And this new moon falls into your income sector. Set some intentions and manifest some money magic. Be careful about language that limits the possibilities and just believe in the magic of receiving. That should soothe your frazzled nerves.


AQUARIUS - Mercury dug through the closets and found some crap you thought you’d forgotten about. It probably is stuff you’d rather not think about, but it comes up for a reason. Learn from whatever this crap is and forgive either yourself or the other parties involved. This is important work because you’re in a period of redefining yourself. Who do you want to be in the world? This isn’t about how other people see you, but how you see yourself. Give it some thought and manifest it with this juicy new moon in your sign!


PISCES - If friendships have felt weird for the last few weeks, blame Mercury. The truth is that this area of your life has been undergoing some changes for awhile, and its probably time to move on from some of the connections you have. This new moon invites you to take a step back and reflect and heal. You may become aware of something just beneath the surface and will bug you until you pay attention to it. Do the shadow work, purge the unhealthy relationships, do the forgiveness. Listen to the quietly nagging whisper in your soul that wants you to follow a different path.

Coming into Alignment - BitchScopes for January 24-31

This week feels pretty groovy to me, both in a “cool baby, coooool” way and in that I feel that professionally most people will be “in their groove” and feeling pretty good about it. Relationships are on track and beneficial to the larger goals. We have gained some clarity from Venus retrograde and our values and our plans are coming into alignment. Productivity and smooth interactions look very likely.

The big news this week is that Venus stations direct. While retrograde, she asks us to examine what we value, why we value it, and how we express that. It can be a bumpy time for relationships, particularly if they have been struggling. Venus insists on harmony and balance and she will achieve it one way or another. So if a particular relationship is “off”, she may sweep it out of the room so that balance can be achieved. At any rate, her direct motion is a relief, and we don’t have to mess with that again for more than a year.

Next week we have Mercury going direct, and last week we had Uranus station direct. So progress should start happening on projects that have been sluggish. We may feel a little restless or anxious to get things going in some areas, but, all in all, this week feels neutral at worst, and progressive at best. Enjoy!

ARIES - Keep your hands at 10 and 2 and keep your eyes on the road. Things should start falling into place around career and income. It is not an accident that I used the driving metaphor 10 and 2, because those are the houses that are most activated for you at this time. Your mission, soul purpose, destiny…whatever you call it…it’s on track to line up with your career and the way you make money, and that’s good! That is usually the goal, and you’re very much on track. So just keep on truckin’!

TAURUS - The phrase “coming in to your own” comes to mind when I look at your current chart. You are refining what is important to you, what you believe and why, and starting to be able to more confidently take that out in to the world. We don’t do this just as we are becoming adults. We go through this process many times in a lifetime. It’s called personal evolution, and without it, we’d all be pretty screwed. Life should feel like it “fits” you a little more comfortably these days, and being yourself should come a bit easier.

GEMINI - You are in a much deeper period than some of your peers. There is deep healing happening for you internally and on a spiritual level. Your connections with your closest people will have a natural intimacy about it, and this is good…it just isn’t always comfortable for you. Rest assured though that some old “stuff” (hurts, traumas, karma) is working its way out the door. CAPRICORN - Ok now that Venus is direct, you can go get a new haircut or redecorate your office, depending on your chart. Creative expression takes on a much deeper meaning for you this year, so you’ll need to juice up that spreadsheet and really flaunt your creative skills. PISCES - Venus retrograde may have had you rethinking some of your dreams and goals. They may not fit the current you, and the past you is gone. Not Small Potatoes - BitchScopes for the week of January 17th

There are quite a few significant things happening this week: 1) the Full moon in Cancer, opposite Pluto 2) Uranus direct 3) the nodes of the moon changing signs 4) Sun and Mars changing signs. And honorable mention for Mercury conjunct Sun (Cazimi)

This week kicks off with that uber emo full moon in Cancer, opposite Pluto, which is “offering” (which is a euphemism for “shoving it at your face”) a deep emotional release around something. When I say “something”, chances are that a situation or circumstance popped in to your head. That’s probably the something that is up to bat. I don’t think this is an emotional crisis or nervous breakdown necessarily; I feel this is more like a big ol’ mood. If you can keep yourself from spewing all over your family members or co-workers, this should be deep/intense but very temporary. Mindfulness is key. There’s always a reason for the emotions you feel, and you don’t always have to understand them, you just need to acknowledge them. If you feel jealous, triggered, betrayed, manipulated, or maybe even sense that you are doing some manipulating, take a moment to question why. Pluto always applauds shadow work!

After the dust from the full moon settles, your intellect is more highlighted than your emotions. This is a good thing, except for the fact that in this energy you may have a hard time pinpointing your emotions and therefore difficulty expressing them clearly. Your intellect will help you out of this quandary as much as it helped you into it. You may just feel slightly more disconnected from your emotional self than usual. For native Aquarians, as well as Geminis, this is normal and comfortable…haha! (Libra is also an air sign and therefore more cerebral than emotional, but Libra vibrates a little differently, so the lack of perfect harmony may be slightly annoying for them.) But for water signs, it may be a little frustrating. Just remember that nothing is broken just because you can’t name that feeling.

Uranus is a future oriented sign. If you are stuck in the the past, old thinking, old situations and patterns, etc., Uranus is good at shaking those things loose. If you aren’t expecting the changes, they can be jarring. But if, during the last 6 months, you realized something significant needs to change, Uranus’ direct motion will help clarify that.

The nodes of the moon move from Gemini and Sagittarius into Taurus and Scorpio. This only happens every 18 months. This begins a new eclipse cycle officially, and changes our collective moods and focus a bit, which is good! In this case, we are shifting out of the intellectual and philosophical signs into signs that deal with money, security, and values. Societally, you’ll start to see this more and more. Crypto currency is apparently here to stay, thanks to Uranus (visionary, change, futuristic) in Taurus (money, values, currency). I expect we will see more and more of it over the next year and a half and it will become more common place than we expected. (I guess I’d better figure out what it freakin’ means. When I do, I’m going to start a crypto currency called “BitchCoin”. Hahaha. I’m joking, but nobody better take that name!)

When planets change signs, there is always a bump and an adjustment period. The Sun changing signs is always significant, and it moves into Aquarius this week on the 20th, which is obviously the best day of the year! (My birthday is January 20th, so I’m a 0° Aquarius and I will argue with anyone about cusp energy.) Mars moves into Capricorn, where he is exalted, ambitious, organized, and ready to kick ass.

Mercury is Cazimi, or in a tight conjunction, with the Sun on Friday the 23rd. You may have an epiphany, a stroke of genius, a revelation, or big idea. You also may have a moment of clarity about what this Mercury retrograde cycle is bringing up for you. This is the halfway point and peak of the Mercury retrograde. This happens at 3° of Aquarius, so see where that is in your chart to see what the flavor of this might be.

ARIES - Family dynamics might contain a week bit of drama, or there could be an issue illuminated with your physical house. Your money and your shared resources with partner/spouse are likely to become a focal point. Changes that are necessary to prosper will come to light. You may have a light bulb moment about a dream or plan you have and who you need in your corner to make it come to life.


TAURUS - Be aware, because a verbal confrontation is possible, particularly with your partner (possibly with a sibling). That will be a short lived issue if it does arise. However, the issue of “me and we” is likely to be a theme for most of this year and you may start to feel its emergence this week. What this means is you may start to look at “who am I now?” and “how do I fit in to this partnership with who I am now?” A job lead, or an idea for a new solo project is possible this week.


GEMINI - If there is a leak in your money bucket (aka your budget), this full moon will illuminate it. But it also may show you some money that was hidden or that you can recover. CANCER - You may get the itch to start something new and sort of reinvent yourself. Don’t make a decision in a high emotional state, and don’t make it for awhile. Instead…just explore. While it may seem non-sequitur, see if you can channel some of your energy into something artistic or creative. Play of all kinds is highlighted for you all year. That means your children, your inner child, your friends, and your crayons should all have a pretty good time. You could have a stroke of genius about how to solve a financial quandary.


LEO - Personal realizations or truths that you’ve kept from yourself may trigger your emotions and you might want to just be alone for a couple days. Your romantic partner could be a great source of comfort and security for you while this wave washes over you, so lean in to them. The push and pull between your home life and your work life is something you’ll be working on this year, so start paying attention to issues that come up around that.

SAGITTARIUS - You will definitely be swimming in the deep end, and not just this week! Your 8th house of intimacy is highlighted by this full moon, so your feelings may go real deep. You will have great communication skills on your side, so if you need to share with someone, you should feel empowered and capable and safe doing so. CAPRICORN - You will be interacting with others a great deal, not just this week, but this year. Your sense of self may get a shot in the arm this week (that’s supposed to be a good thing but it’s a weird saying, especially in current times.)


PISCES - This full moon will tickle your funny bone, in that you may be craving more play, fun, and romance. Writing and publishing are emphasized for you all year, so don’t be shy about putting pen to paper to see what develops. While you likely have an active dream life, this week you might get some important information in your sleep. It may not even make it into your conscious mind, so try some automatic writing this week and see what shows up. In general, embrace doing things just for the hell of it, rather than needing to have a purpose. Pursue joy, and you’ll find more of it.

Head Down, Vibes Up! BitchScopes for Jan 11-17

This week is a bit of a carry over from last week, but kicked up a notch in intensity. In fact, more than one notch may be involved. If you look at these transits, you’ll see what I mean. The vast majority of this week’s transits are fire and water….which creates boiling water. This is an emotionally touchy week, not just because of the Full Moon in Cancer (which is always a doozy), but Eris and Lilith are spreading seeds of conflict, Mars has his dukes up, and Neptune and Mercury could create some confusion.

If there was ever a week to keep a low profile, this is it…unless you want to be involved in a heated conflict and you like drama. You may not be able to avoid all of the potential pissing matches, but you can certainly decide to not be an instigator.

Keep a close eye on your feelings as they bubble up. Choose your words carefully. Give yourself a healthy outlet to release any anger and frustration. Next week offers better opportunities to make progress. But generally speaking, I would suggest using these next few weeks to gain clarity and focus. There will be a time to push but it’s a few weeks away. For now, keen observation is your best friend. Document ideas or important details. If you use this week’s energy wisely, you will notice several ways you can get a leg up on the competition, who is likely less aware of what’s happening energetically.

The last 2 weeks of this month there are several planets changing signs and direction, so we will feel a little thrown off balance as we adjust. This is yet another reason why this week it would be wise to ground yourself and really connect with your inner voice so that you can keep that crazy bitch on track.

ARIES - Your friends and family are going to be at the forefront of the action over the next few weeks. Make sure your close friends know how you feel about them, especially friends who may not be a part of your every day life. Reconnect. Be intentional and organized about get togethers and plans so that Mercury doesn’t throw a wrench into the situation. If your running or fitness routine has been messy, getting it back on track will give you a good outlet, becauuuuse…family issues could be fraught with emotion. Be sensitive, but don’t feed the drama fire any kindling. If you have feelings that need to be shared, try to do so when your head is clear and you’re not fired up.



TAURUS - Communication at work or with other professionals is going to be important for the next several weeks. The full moon may bring up some sort of communication snafu, error, or issue that needs to be corrected. This could be anything from a downed data server to a compromised security issue. Make sure you have all the information you need to get it properly corrected. This is also a good time to review and analyze any contracts, loans, things that have terms and conditions that may have changed. Sign off on them after Mercury is direct if possible. If its not possible, don’t sweat it. This is also a perfect time to review your professional social media accounts and make sure it reflects what you want it to.




GEMINI - You may be re-examining your personal beliefs, guiding philosophies, and personal values. Are your activities aligned with those beliefs? Also, I hate to say it but if you have travel plans coming up soon, they may be screwed up. Obviously covid is continuing to be a giant pain in the ass, but Mercury retrograde also occurs in your 9th house of travel. So adjust and flex as needed. You’ll be able to take the trip a little later. The full moon will light up things you need to know regarding your income and budget. So get out your spreadsheet and do some analysis to see what’s coming in and going out. You’ll be glad you did it (I feel you may find some hidden money).




CANCER - The astrology is going to feel extra personal to you for a few weeks. Your 8th house of intimacy, other people’s money, and “weird stuff” is activated by Mercury retrograde. Feelings of vulnerability are likely. This is emphasized by the full moon in your sign, which is bound to highlight how you feel about yourself and your projection out into the world. Take a look at any loans you have and see if they can be re-financed. Try to pay off anything that is old and get that shit out of your way and out of your energy. This all sounds kind of boring, but this full moon is going to show you your next steps on your path and you are going to see a transformation of yourself and parts of your financial life that are going to be really good! LEO - Mending fences in relationships is a theme for you this Mercury retrograde. Any inaccurate perceptions made by your or of you can be corrected in a positive way at this time. Mercury and the full moon are working in an interesting partnership for you, because the full moon will show you things that you’ve avoided, forgotten about or put on hold. Between that and the cleaning up of relationship detritus, you’re getting a car wash and detail for your being. This is a great time for some shadow work if you feel called to it. Or maybe a few sessions with a life coach to give you some perspective on how to clean up and move forward.




VIRGO - You could be in for some shake ups in your day to day life. Your routine may be disrupted and this will certainly throw you off, mentally. Wait for the dust to settle before you decide how to take over the world this year. Really ground yourself and do what you do best…analyze. What do you want your daily life to look like, and who do you want around you? Speaking of people around you…the full moon is likely to shed light on your associations, friendships, and maybe even dreams and goals you’ve had for yourself. Create a fresh vision for your life and decide who you want in it.




LIBRA - You’re one of the signs that is likely to really enjoy both Mercury retrograde and this full moon! Play, creativity, romance, and general fun are in store for you during this Mercury retrograde. This will be a nice break from the intense work issues that have been around for a bit. You’ll feel relaxed and secure. And professionally, the energy is still high, but instead of being intense, this full moon may get you some of the attention or reward you deserve. Of course if you’ve been not doing your job very well, that attention might be icky. But chances are, I could bounce a quarter off of your work ethic, so this should be positive.




SCORPIO - You are going to get some clarity, perhaps even a glimpse or a vision, or your future. The information that is illuminated will allow you to course correct as needed. You will want to (if you aren’t drawn to do this instinctively) take a look at the foundations you inherited from your family. You are not obligated to proceed on the path your family has set for you. This is a really good time for manifesting, doing a vision board, recording dreams and other sources of inspiration. Build the life you want, not necessarily the one you inherited.




SAGITTARIUS - Your social life and the life you may share with a partner are affected for the next few weeks. There may be a shuffling of friends, neighbors, or siblings that changes who is closest to you or that you interact with the most. If you are in a committed relationship, the things your partner brings to the relationship will be highlighted. This includes money and debts, as you examine where you are now (vs where you were “then” if you’ve been together a while). If done with care, Intimacy can be heightened during this process. Make sure your records, storage, files etc are secure and backed up when necessary.




CAPRICORN - You are likely to be shuffling and rearranging your resources, money, and assets to meet current needs. You will be able to fill any holes you find. Pay yourself FIRST, period. Your contracted relationships or agreements will be illuminated by the full moon, providing the information you need to take the next step. This is all tied in with the financial activity. Money and relationships can both be touchy, emotional subjects, but ultimately this will lighten your burden in the near future.




AQUARIUS - Use the next few weeks to refine your personal (which may include professional) image that you project in to the world. Clean up any energetic loose ends, which may be goals you thought you wanted to achieve but now you’ve changed, and remnants of those plans still occupy space in your routine or belief system. This is also a great time to revamp your daily routine to include things that apply toward your desired life, and remove things that no longer serve. Maybe your charitable contributions need to switch up. Maybe your client hours need to be re-assessed. You are in for a good year, so take this opportunity to polish things up.




PISCES - Your creative projects may be moving slowly, leaving you feeling like you’re watching the paint dry to see if you like the color. The reason things feel sticky and slow is because behind the scenes, things are unfolding in a way you probably have not considered. When this shows up, you will be pleasantly surprised. While you are in the waiting room, have some fun. When was the last time you did something just for the pleasure of it? Create some joy. That is not a difficult assignment!

Welp, 2022 is not wasting any time in grabbing us by the shoulders. If you’re tapped in, inspiration and insight are being handed out like strip club coupons on the Vegas strip. However, this inspiration may come from a place of “WTF” or “How dare they?!”, but your fire is bound to be lit. If you have a good idea about your personal mission or higher calling, you may start to feel an infusion of verve and clarity you haven’t had in a while. So expect your feelings to be activated on a deep level.

Connections with others, particularly partners, feels deeper and more spiritual lately. If you’re in an established relationship, this is great. If you are starting a new relationship, remember that Venus retrograde puts on rose colored beer goggles and we may lose that deeply connected feeling in February and beyond. Go slow until then.

If you have planets at 27-28° Sagittarius, pay attention to what happens this week. Everyone will have their chart at those degrees activated by transit on the 5th. On Wednesday, an alignment of Vesta and the Galactic Center may really ignite your passion for justice (the flavor may vary based on the planet placements). Dreams, visions, whisperings, enthusiasm…all may tap you on the shoulder with Divine insight into an issue or a project you’re working on. We are invited to recognize and accept our own value, independent of others, their opinions or how they value us. This invitation, if we accept it, may take us out on a bit of a spiritual walk about. This may include examining old wounds, and some bubbling up of strong emotions. Anger, resentment, rebellion, and feelings of that flavor may be activated by your journey into self. This can be really fantastic if you stay aware and don’t project that shit on to the people around you. And if your passion for something has been reawakened, make sure you channel it appropriately and don’t fling it around your work place etc.

I do think this year will offer a lot of opportunities to heal, both ourselves, and some parts of society. It certainly won’t all get fixed this year, but there’s been a pretty significant shift and I think we will start to see things improve on some parts of the world stage. Spirituality, connectedness, compassion, creativity are all balms to soothe our very, very frayed collective nerves.

ARIES - Career, or the public facing part of your life is still a strong theme for you. I sense a lot of expansion is possible for you this year.
