BitchScopes for June 1-7

BitchScopes for the Week of June 1

This week I think we need to make room for tension, aggression, and anger. On some level this will show up whether we make room for it or not. But we NEED to create some allowance now. Anger is a healthy emotion when you allow yourself to experience it in context. As I write this, protests and riots in Minnesota over the murder of George Floyd rage out of control. A friend near there said the National Guard was setting up downtown. Another friend who works for a large tech corporation there said her company has promoted large conference calls for employees to just share their thoughts and feelings. We have to do that now. And that means we have to hold space for people to be in pain and to be angry. It’s uncomfortable AF. We must face ourselves.

The full moon this week is also an Eclipse. It’s the first of a new set of eclipses in Gemini/Sagittarius. This is not going to be a gentle or sweet full moon. This is going to continue to highlight justice, law, and beliefs. Are we in alignment with what we do and say? The
moon is opposite Venus retrograde, which could place tension on fragile or unhealthy relationships. The moon also squares Mars, so impulsivity and anger are possible. We are guided to speak our truth, stand in our beliefs, and to hold that space for one another. It’s harder than it sounds. Whatever it is that lights your fire may show up this week. Listen to it, because it is guiding you, and all of us, to a new path.

June 3: Sun conjunct Venus the desire for harmony is strong.

June 3: Venus square Mars could be sexual tension, could be angry tension, could be angry sex...

June 5: Full Moon In Sagittarius Lunar Eclipse - Sun in Gemini opposite Moon in Sagittarius. Moon Square Mars. Moon Opposite Venus. Mercury sextile Uranus.

Spiritual experiences, anger, impulsiveness. Do our beliefs line up with our speech? Do we walk the talk?  Unexpected news or conversations.  Electric thoughts.

June 6: Sun square Mars - Competition, assertiveness, conflict

ARIES

You may feel more open hearted and emotional than usual, and have a hard time putting your finger on what the deal is. Your soul is calling you into action, a natural state for you. Communication with those close to you, or those you haven’t connected with in awhile, will be helpful. Your romantic life feels strong, as does your career track. Someone higher up is paying attention and you may be able to step into a more meaningful position.

TAURUS

You’ll be feeling yourself, and a bit more creatively inspired. Even finances are lining up better for you. Emotionally, things are deep and you’ll probably be craving closeness. If you can’t get it in your current relationship, Venus retrograde may be telling you something. Be aware of what you attract during this time, because until Venus goes direct, your picker may be off. This goes for investments as well.

GEMINI

You will get a much needed injection of self esteem and confidence. Love you express will come back to you as well. If it doesn’t, consider that relationship out of balance and stop over giving in order to earn love. You may feel sensitive and drawn to romance, art and beauty this week. It may not be your most productive work week. This week’s work is happening in your heart space.

CANCER

Tired, but restless. Anxious. You would be well advised to be a little selfish this week and take care of yourself. REALLY. Look at your daily routine and see if you can carve out some time and space to do something other than care for others. Remain cool if and when you butt heads with those close to you. Things will settle down around you.

LEO

You may feel kinda mushy this week and miss your social connections. An artistic or creative outlet would do you tremendous good right now. Don’t be shy about texting or calling your peeps. They need your sunshine as much as you need their love. You should feel a shift toward more lightness this week. Whew.

VIRGO

This might be a good week to redecorate, start a remodel, or paint. This could go for your home, or your office setting. You might even just feel happy to get some colored folders at work. Adding some joy to your home (or office, since that might be close to home for you workaholics anyway) could actually improve your productivity and your bottom line.

LIBRA

You should feel a shift this week, or at least I hope you will. Hope and light and the ability to take a deep breath should reappear. With some much discord around, you may feel burdened. But breakthroughs are coming. Planning for a little adventure of any kind might boost your mood and energy.

SCORPIO

Intimacy. (I feel like I talk about that a lot with you heehee) Deep conversations will lead to deep connections and intimate experiences (yes, even sexual intimacy). Using your words is important this week, as it will both prompt conversation, and promote that intimacy you crave. It could be uncomfortable at first, but you will break through with that laser ability of yours.

SAGITTARIUS

Naturally, you’ll be deep in thought this week trying to encounter the deeper meaning of the events. The eclipse may rattle you a little, so meditation and solitude might be a good way to shield yourself from unnecessary strife. However, if you do end up in a scuffle, speak your piece and keep it brief.

CAPRICORN

You might feel exhausted in almost every way. You need to give your brain and your body a break and you need to do it ASAP. Why? Because you are, well, to be cliche - essential. Give yourself permission to play more and work less, even if it is just this week (though downshifting for a couple weeks is not a bad idea!)

AQUARIUS

Your values and the values of those around you may be under a microscope this week. Its possible that the group(s) that you spend most of your energy on are no longer a great match for what you’re trying to accomplish. Try not to take things out on your family, because that’s not the group I’m referring to. Even though your family may not mesh with your ideals, and you may not expend a lot of energy there, its social and professional values that you will probably be observing.

PISCES

Home Sweet Home! That will be your oasis this week. Ironically, it is you, the most sensitive of the zodiac, who may experience some regeneration this week, despite all the chaos. Your professional life may be ready for a little make over. You may not know what to do just yet, but your awareness will help point the way.

Help Help I'm bein' repressed!

Before I say what I sat down to say, some background info.

I have been in the corporate world since I was 15. Non stop. The only time I wasn't working was when I had babies, and I took my whopping 8 weeks off, and when I lost my job in 2009 with everyone else. I have a degree in Small Business Management, and have worked in mom and pops, huge corps, and everything in between. I have worked in oil and gas, accounting, marketing, administrative, legal, communication, the arts, retail, wholesale, trucking, international trading, financial, and agricultural services. That just about spans the gamut of the facets of business.

I have been an artistic person for ever. And artsy people don't always mix well with the corporate world. I have been very successful doing so, thanks in part to my die-hard work ethic, chart full of Capricorn, and my experiences as a divorced/single mom supporting her kids. I have HAD to bite my tongue so friggin much over the years. And because I started working so young, I think I learned very early on that my opinion was not wanted. Often my opinion would be spoken by others (usually others who are male) and received with adulation. But at any rate, I learned as a young woman to shut up and do my job. That also resulted in my shrinking myself down to fly below the radar. My being small made other people happier.

It worked fine until I was in my 40s. I started shedding hair and fucks at an equal pace.

And at some point I just couldn't get in the box anymore. No matter how "safe" or "stable" the box appeared to be, I couldn't cram my glittery ass in to it anymore.

So even as I've developed this brand of mine, this brand of "give no fucks" and speak your mind, and own your inner bitch...I censor myself so much in order to make other people comfortable. I catch myself doing this and sometimes I even bounce it off of my partner, Patrick. Should I shut up? No one cares...

His reply: "fuck it, babe. You do you."

So to that end, here we go. I know that everything about Covid-19 is somehow controversial. Is it real or a fake conspiracy? Do masks help or are they useless? Or are they even harmful? Should we stay closed or open? Is the government benevolent or evil? Is it a vaccine or a plot? People literally argue about every fucking thing. And I'm kinda over it. Ultimately, the kind thing to do is not always the easy thing to do. Kindness sometimes means thinking of others before yourself, even if you don't like it. You don't have to bite your tongue like I did, but you also could just simmer the hell down and do the kind thing.

I am so tired of people talking about oppression and losing their rights.

To be clear, do people even know what “oppression” means?

Your freedoms haven’t been stripped. You can believe and preach and discuss whatever you want. Churches have had drive in and virtual services. Your freedoms are intact. God ain’t goin anywhere and isn’t attached to an address.

Honestly the way things are opening makes zero sense - some restaurants are open. I saw an open antique store downtown ...wtf is essential about that? But hairdressers are a no?

So I get that some people are pissed and frustrated. It’s all weird and random.

Let’s talk about “censorship”. Yes Facebook is taking down some posts and it’s stupid AF. breastfeeding women are bad. Discussions of the patriarchy are bad. But half naked women are ok? No! Fb is on crack.

But Facebook isn’t your only means of communication y’all. You can have a blog or a website and say whatever you want. The state isn’t filtering your “news”. Our news is delightfully and ridiculously unfiltered and unedited (and often unintelligent. Lol)

But my point- let’s stop throwing around chatter about oppressing our rights and censorship

We are still the free-est friggin country in the world. we are still a bunch of rebels who push envelopes. And that’s what makes us ‘muricans. But let’s stop whining so gd much.

There’s a big difference between “oppression” and inconvenience.

It’s Memorial Day. People laid down their lives, and continue to, so that we can say and believe whatever the hell we want. God bless our nutty country.

Don't agree? Ok. Don't care? OK.  Love you anyway.

Bitchscopes May 25 - 31

Action flows where thoughts go...

This week, where your mind goes, your actions will follow, and your actions can lead to rapid changes. So be mindful of your thoughts and manifest the hell out of this time. This week we also may be catching up on things we’ve put off, and remembering goals that got buried. Most of us will be feeling ourselves pretty strongly, and confidence is in the air. Clarity is a word that is mentioned more than once in this week’s scopes. Be an information sponge and soak it all up, but don’t show your hand just yet. The exception to that would be in your closest relationships, which will benefit greatly from your attention this week. Impulse is the word of the week. Follow your impulses, and beware of impulsivity at the same time. Capiche?

May 25 Mars sextile Uranus - craving for excitement, rapid changes

May 28 Mercury enters Cancer - thoughts and feelings go deeper

ARIES:

While you’re usually the King or Queen of DO-ing, this week you need to feel, and examine...ew! Try to avoid being reactive to others. . You may feel people are making demands of you, but their expectations may in fact be reasonable. A peaceful outlet will help you get in touch with what you need to be in touch with and to not be so easily ruffled. If running is your usual meditation, try walking intermittently. The break in your rhythm could bring needed insights.

TAURUS:

You may have some flashes of brilliance and lots of ideas. Take time to examine and plan before you throw money at anything right now. Your ruling planet is retrograde so caution is key with investments right now. In fact, your perceptions in general may be hazy. You and your significant other or BFF may not be quite on the same wavelength. Give yourself some space and try to be patient.

GEMINI:

This is a good time for you to journal, brainstorm, and examine some of your existing plans and ideas. Your brain is never quiet, but try to down shift the new idea machine just for now and fine tune some that are already developed. If you feel bajiggity or bickery, or give yourself an escape. This energy will pass if you don’t try to wrestle with it. Art would be a great outlet for your mental energy right now, and a healthy way to shift from brain space into heart space.

CANCER:

While you are naturally a feel-er, over the next few weeks you may be an idea machine. Collaboration may be very productive for you. Also during the next few weeks, things that have been on the back burner may show up again. New opportunities get a green light, even though planets are retrograde. Use your gut, as you always do. You’ll know what to say yes to.

LEO:

You might benefit from a bit of a withdrawal from people in general right now. Put yourself first and take time to do an inventory of your to-do’s and obligations. Are you enabling someone to be sort of helpless, or giving to someone else’s career more than your own? Tap into your creative genius and do yourself some favors for once.

VIRGO:

You could be really feeling yourself this week, and ready to mingle and make meaningful connections. They may be professional rather than personal, but hey, what’s new? There’s a reason you are successful. (Romance is by no means ruled out, however.) You may feel more impulsive than your usual well planned out self. And you may find yourself drawn to opportunities that are not your usual flavor. Follow your gut/heart.

LIBRA:

Clarity is on the menu this week. You may reach the knot at the end of your very long rope about a topic that is quite over-done. It takes a lot for you to say “peace out”, because you’d rather just have peace. It is important that you stand your ground on this issue, and it is very possible that peace will come after you do so. Your assertiveness in communication will benefit you professionally this summer.

SCORPIO:

You may be pleasantly surprised by some conversations this week. You may be given some clarity and insight about someone’s true nature. Issues of power and authority, your areas of expertise, may crop up as well. You’d be well advised to be a very good listener and very slow to speak. It isn’t necessarily negative, but it will yield useful knowledge if you can remain cool. And I know you can.

SAGITTARIUS:

Money and intimacy may be on your mind this week. Be sure you’re in control of the important aspects of your financial life. Don’t be too trusting (not something I’ve ever had to warn you about) of others’ expertise. Shield yourself from people who irk you and surround yourself with your closest people this week. I say this because you may desire time alone, and that’s good for you as well...but your closest most trusted people will bring you a feeling of security that you need right now.

CAPRICORN:

You may bump into your “previous lives” now and for a few weeks to come. Not literal previous incarnations, but people and experiences from your past. It may not be your favorite people, either. There is something meaningful in these interactions though. Milk it, work it, get what you can from these conversations. You’ll know what this means in the moment. Poker face will be useful AF, and your intuition will be strong.

AQUARIUS:

You’ll probably be feeling motivated for self improvement in some way in the coming weeks. Part of that may be your financial life and more practical ways of dealing with some aspect of it. You won’t have any trouble committing (wait what?! Am I on the right sign? yep…) to a project or educational pursuit. All of this will strengthen your career footing.

PISCES:

Don’t second guess, don’t compromise, and don’t budge. You have a tendency to over-give. But when it comes to your future plans, be selfish AF right now. Boundaries in professional plans will set the tone you will need to make great progress in the future. This new found assertiveness may have you feeling kinda sexy, too. So...go with that!

BitchScopes for the week of May 18th

BitchScopes for 5/18 - 24

Last week 3 planets stationed retrograde, joining the already retrograde Pluto. In June, Mercury and Neptune retrograde, so it’s just a retro party summer! Bell bottoms and frosted eye shadow anyone? Ok that’s not necessary. But we will be in review, re-evaluate and re-adjust mode for many weeks to come. Maybe that’s why summers are vacation time...because we are not quite full speed ahead in life matters. And that's good.  Even though life feels like it is on pause due to the pandemic, things are slowly unfurling from hibernation.

This week the Sun enters Gemini, which, to me is the epitome of the summer vibe. But life these days is so strange and socializing is not what it was even a few months ago. Some of life is “re-opening”, but I suspect even that will be re-examined this summer. Regardless, it is so important, especially in this season, to connect with the people we love. If you can see them in person, great. If you can’t, make an effort to schedule a zoom happy hour or group face time chat.

Love, and the expression of love is important this week, and so is play and art and the child like energy that embodies summer for most of us. This is not likely to be the most productive work week. Your time and energy are better spent connecting with your heart and issues ruled by Venus. Enjoy it.

May 20 Sun enters Gemini - overall we will be more curious, mentally engaged, inclined toward logic, as well as more sociable, friendly, and talkative

May 20 Venus square Neptune - insecurities about appearance may surface

May 22 Mercury conjunct Venus - expression of love is emphasized

May 22 New Moon in Gemini 10:39 am pst - new friends, interests, ways of communicating. Especially since the North Node just moved into Gemini earlier in May. There is a fresh wave of information and Gemini energy headed for all of us

May 22 Sun trine Saturn - achievement and recognition

May 22 Mercury square Neptune - muddled communications, especially in business

ARIES

You may be pretty popular in the coming weeks, and as a result your calendar and to do list may be pretty full. You will feel energized and raring to go, but keep in mind that it’s ok to say No. Really.

Hey do you want to join our Zoom meeting Wednesday morning? We’re going to talk about income streams. You do? Awesome!

You’re fired! You’re supposed to say No!

Tap into your gut and do what FEELS like a good match for you in the coming weeks, or you’ll risk burn out. There is nothing sadder than a burned out Aries who won’t put on her running shoes…

TAURUS

Cue up your Money playlist, Taurus. This week that’s almost all of what will be on your mind. Almost...because you know what the rest of your mind is. Anyway, do your homework when it comes to money making opportunities. In this case, under the current energy, you’d be well advised to share your plan(s) with 1 trusted person who has a good head for whatever the plan is. But don’t overshare or share with the wrong people. You already know who this person is…

GEMINI

Happy YOU season! You’ve got the world on a string...ish. I mean, don’t get too cocky. But you do have great energy behind you for forging a path to success right now. You probably already feel it. The new moon falls in Gemini this coming Friday. Take advantage of this fabulous window of opportunity to focus on your bigger dreams and concoct a plan of action.

CANCER

You may bite off more than you can chew at work or on a project at home. Be reasonable with yourself. That same influence (its Jupiter) may have you really wanting to get into your sacred space and meditate or just observe some silence. Give yourself this gift, especially leading up to the new moon on Friday.

LEO

You wanna go to school, but you have to manage chores. Wait, whaaaat?! Who are you? You may be feeling very motivated to further your skills or education in the coming weeks. But you will feel the pull of your day to day duties. You’ll have to intentionally carve out time to finish that degree or certification. Also, I never thought I’d have to say this to YOU, but all work and no play makes Leo insane. Take a break!

VIRGO

Lookit you, takin’ professional risks! It looks good on you. You will be on point in all things job related, and while you are generally very practical, you may be a little more willing to think outside your very tidy box this week. Exploring some new options would be great for your career. It could be as simple as your desk, your work flow, your commute, your schedule. If its something bigger, like hiring someone, give it some thought first.

LIBRA

You will feel extra social and confident this week. You’ll be ready to take on a new project and learn new ways. You always love meeting new people, and this may happen too, even during this stay at home world we now live in. Your vibe attracts your tribe. Like minded people are waiting for your arrival.

SCORPIO

You’re never one to shy away from a deep conversation. But this week you could be delighted with the intimate sharing. It could be a boom chicka wah wah week, but at the very least, some great discussion could emerge. Slow down your pace of doing, and amp up the connection. You’ll find it very rewarding if you create the space for it.

SAGITTARIUS

You should be feeling more energized and optimistic this week, even as your ruling planet goes retrograde. Your inner life will expand and you could feel more focused. Team projects and plans with others should go well now, too. Your closest relationships are supportive and a great sense of strength and grounding for you.

CAPRICORN

For a crusty, serious goat, you might be feeling pretty smooshy this week. You may be thrown off by a feeling of neediness that you aren’t accustomed to. Don’t panic. Express what you need and spend some time receiving, for once. Take a moment to look at your probably very packed daily schedule and see if you can lighten it up a bit.

AQUARIUS

You will be in your hapy hippie zone this week, enjoying the simple things in life and a slower pace. Give that big brain a break and do some heART-work this week. Work is important but, don’t make it your #1 priority this week. Take a wee break (not sure why I am typing with an Irish accent) . Focusing on your close inner circle or partner will be the most rewarding for you.

PISCES

Oooh la la, you could be feeling pretty romantic. Your heart may be in your mouth, but in a good way. If there has been a difficult issue in your relationship, this week might be a great time to tackle it. Old wounds, especially with family, could find some healing in the coming weeks..

BitchScopes for May 11-17 - We're still movin'

Holy moly! Could there be more going on this week? At first glance it looks overwhelming, but most of this activity is behind the scenes for now. Spring and Summer are always “retrograde season” and this year is no exception. This week 3 planets station retrograde, giving us plenty to work on inside ourselves and our societies. Venus is likely to be the most intense, because it retrogrades less frequently. But all the same, there’s nothing to really be afraid of or dread...as usual it’s just an opportunity for awareness.

Leaving the retrogrades aside for the time being, this week has good energy, productivity and focus. It is a “mental” kind of week. Not in a “whackjob” kind of way, but in air-y, thinking, mental processing kind of way. My caveat for this week and the next few weeks would be to watch for impulsivity, over reaction, and frustration because Mars in Pisces is likely to feel bajiggity and a couple of these retrogrades ask for thoughtful actions as well.

We're still movin'.  Even when things seem "backward" and all screwed up, we are making progress. Life is moving.  This is a song by Gregory Porter, who I've been listening to a lot this week because his brother Corny passed away this week from Covid complications.  I went to High School with both Corny and Greg.  So this is for both of them, and all of us: https://youtu.be/WC5JO50LE7I

May 11 – Saturn Retrograde in Aquarius & Capricorn - This retrograde is less intense to us than others, but has an important effect on everyone, and societal structures. During this time we may become aware of rules that no longer make sense Depending on placement, this may challenge your definition of authenticity, or stir up some rebellion without good cause.

May 11 – Mercury square Mars - quick temper, rash decisions

May 11- Mercury enters Gemini - quick wit, sharp thinking, but maybe a bit nervous, jittery, flakey. Easily bored. Strong bias toward logic over emotion.

May 12 - Mercury trine Saturn - good concentration and mental ability; focus

May 13 - Mars enters Pisces - this is an awkward placement for Mars and we could feel easily frustrated. Conscious awareness of balance between action and stillness will go a long way.

May 13 - Venus Retrograde Gemini - Venus retrograde is an intense transit because it does not occur as often as other retrogrades. It repeats transits every 8 years, and the last time it was in Gemini was the Spring of 2012. This retrograde squares Neptune, suggesting we may get caught up in a non-reality, and then have a reality check. Venus rules how we feel valued, what we value, as well as beauty, art, seduction and romance. Its important we stay grounded and have good boundaries, but also that we don’t bail on a situation prematurely. Because retrogrades provide us with insight..they don’t seek to torture us.

May 14 Jupiter Retrograde Capricorn - this retrograde will highlight inequality of the classes, social and political differences, and tension between entities will flare. You may personally feel like a black sheep in some circles. But it is important you remain true to your ideals.

May 15 Sun trine Pluto - the desire to dive deep into whatever engages you

May 17 – Sun trine Jupiter - extremely positive transit - optimistic and friendly, high energy.

Here’s your weekly scopes by sign

ARIES

You are likely to be kicking ass and taking names this week professionally. Your energy will be high. But a couple notes of caution: Be careful that your actions match your words and visa versa this week; and don’t over-do. Burnout is a real threat to continued productivity so chill out now and then. Make notes so you don’t forget where you left off.

TAURUS

You could quite like this week if you channel this energy the right way. Sweet, sweet Moola is calling your name. But of course, you’ll need to do some leg work to get it flowing. And communication with your key peeps will be important as well. Who are those peeps? You may not know yet. But you should not be shy about reaching out to seek the help of a mentor or expert when the idea strikes. Even though you may have been kicked in the ass recently, you might find yourself feeling pretty optimistic this month. Huh? Is that normal? No need to take your temperature (unless you’re coughing of course! Covid humor. Too soon?) - things are lookin up and you feel it.

GEMINI

ERMERGERD you are so sick of this covid shit! You need to circulate, talk, gossip, muse, socialize...ugh. You’ll be inspired to find new ways of connecting and socializing if you haven’t already done so.
You may also feel particularly yourself right now, despite feeling caged. You feel confident about your abilities and will feel clear about expressing yourself. Go, you!

You may even feel inspired to give your business a little make over, visually. Do it!

CANCER

You may want a break from people and drama and everyone’s Neeeeeeds this week. And you should allow yourself to take it. Believer it or not, your close relationships will all benefit from you being a little selfish. It will help you get clear on some new project(s) and you’ll be more at ease making the social connections to get things moving. Take a bath and hide if you want...you’ve earned it!

LEO

Working or playing with others is likely to figure strongly into this week, even if you are working remotely. Group thinks and collaboration can lead to great breakthroughs and problem solving this week. But as you know, all work and no play makes Leo a grumpy cat. You will desire more intimacy and deeper connections from the people closest to you. This will fuel your creativity, and your creativity will be great for your overall health. Winning!

VIRGO

Partnerships of all flavors could thrive in this week’s energy. Professionally things look positive for you this month overall. But this week in particular, you will be a smooth operator and on your game. Other partnerships will get a boost this month too as your 7th house is activated. You’re just doing life like a boss this week! Congrats!

LIBRA

You may get the urge to fine tune your schedule and obligations this week. You also may find yourself putting more into that schedule in regards to health and fitness. The stay at home orders, if they are still affecting you, may feel more irritating than usual this week. You’ll really have an itch for some nature, but may have difficulty figuring out where to make that happen. (hint: you will find a way)

SCORPIO

You may have to have a bit of a come-to-Jesus talk this week. And it may actually be with yourself (and Jesus, if that’s your thing). You may have to admit that you are less than perfect, and as an Aquarius, I feel for you. I mean, because we ARE perfect, but sometimes people think we aren’t. So I get it, sorta. But anyway, you can own up to whatever your short comings have been AND still be the badass you are. Plus you’ll have some extra sexy charm and charisma for several weeks to come, thanks to Mars, and Venus in your 5th and 8th houses respectively. Take your licks so you can...take...your licks. Wow. Ok I’m off to Sagittarius now…

SAGITTARIUS

You are very likely to be connecting and communicating with friends and family this week, probably thanks to technology. Also thanks to tech, you are in a great position to make some future plans with finances and career and family plans. You spiritual side will deepen all summer, and you may feel that shift beginning this week.

CAPRICORN

This week you may be the Queen or King of list conquests in a whole new way. Your to do lists don’t stand a chance! Focus, motivation, and organization will be your companions on this quest. It will be very satisfying and productive! The other thing that is satisfying is standing up for yourself and really tuning in to what is true for you. You’ve recently started shedding things that don’t work for you or don’t align with you. Your empowerment is here to stay for some time, and you are likely to be feelin’ yourself this week!

AQUARIUS

So you wanna be a millionaire? Well yes, we all do. And if anyone could, its you. This week you should buckle down and make a real, actual plan for business growth, income, and pursuing your dreams. Your energy this week is confident and bold. That’s great for business, but not always awesome for love relationships. You are tough, you run a tight ship and have high expectations of people, and yourself. But soften up a bit as you address old wounds with your partner. You’re safe to be vulnerable.

...Do not look at me in that tone of voice, Aquarius!

PISCES

You’re on a mission to finish old tasks and goals and clean up your act this week. Your passions will be headed in all the right directions for progress and you’ll have all the support you need when you express your desires to your partner or friends. In addition to cleaning up your own energetic stuff, it’s a good time to finish up things around the house and your physical environment that you’re spending so much time in lately. There’s positive energy around mending family fences too.

The Truth About Venus Retrograde

It’s officially “retrograde season” - the time of year when several planets all retrograde at the same time. It happens every year, even though not all planets retrograde annually. Venus is one of those, as “she” only retrogrades every 18 months or so. (Mars retrogrades every 2 years). The less frequently a planet retrogrades, generally the more potent the retrograde period. So, sure, Mercury retrograde is a pain in the ass at times. But it moves into retrograde 3-4 times each year, so it is more a part of our “norm”.

When planets like Venus retrograde, everyone assumes that their love relationships are all going to go backwards as well. Take a deep breath and unclench your fists...it’s gonna be ok.

Art by Christiane Vleugels (christianevleugels.com)

Let’s look at this…

Venus rules love and beauty, and also the things we value and the ways that make us feel valued. She rules the signs of Taurus and Libra, the 2nd and 7th houses of earned money and partnerships, respectively. Established relationships and partnerships (including business) will not necessarily derail during this time. But what is true is that during Venus Rx we tend to not see things as clearly around Venusian issues. So if you just met someone during a Venus Rx who you think is the Cat’s Meow, there’s a strong possibility that when Venus goes direct motion, you may not see that person the same way. The same is true of new projects, new contracts, new haircuts, new tattoos, etc. Your perceptions and feelings about anything regarding love, money or beauty could shift during and after a Venus retro.

So let’s have some rules of thumb:

You just met someone and Venus is in retrograde. You’re pretty sure they’re the one, so you want to propose, or jump their bones, or otherwise nail it down. Chill

You have been in discussions for a few weeks or months about a project or contract that seems very lucrative. Should you stall signing it until after Venus is direct? Nah. This is not something you just started, so go for it.

You have a wedding planned and it falls during Venus retrograde. Crap. Cancel it! Call Aunt Sherry! Pump your brakes, Bride-chilla. It was already planned. Get hitched and be happy.

You’re in a relationship and you’re pretty sure this transit is going to ruin you. So you break it off in anticipation, rather than have your heart broken. Oh honey, don’t.

Venus repeats transits every 8 years, and the last time it was in Gemini was the Spring of 2012, so theoretically you could spend a day trying to remember all the romantic crises of that time. Or not. Every one is new, even if certain patterns do exist because its hitting the same part of your chart. Where is your Gemini. That house will see some energy. This particular retrograde squares Neptune, suggesting we may get caught up in a non-reality, and then have a reality check. Its important we stay grounded and have good boundaries, but also that we don’t bail on a situation prematurely. Because retrogrades provide us with insight..they don’t seek to torture us.

Venus’ ultimate message to all of us: love yourself and be true to yourself and your values.

Dear Karen

I’m watching Mrs America on Hulu. It’s a mostly true depiction of the fight for women’s rights in the 70s...the ERA, Roe v Wade, etc... proponents...and opponents.
It’s not a documentary, but y’all, not much has changed.  We still don’t agree on this shit!  Even women don't agree on women's rights!

I am thinking of a lot of people who don’t agree with “those kind of women”- and they’re all over my Facebook feed.  I’ve mostly unfriended and unfollowed these people that I don’t align with.  And trust me, I went through a period where I judged myself for that. Why? Because I am an intellectual, and I value information and the burden of educating ourselves. I value opposing arguments.  I love a good debate.  My fucking brand is based on the word “bitch”!  So I had to really examine myself when I started to put distance between myself and people who offend me.   Am I becoming that person who only associates with other people like me? (I’m pretty sure that’s called a “Karen”. )  What about the value of other values? Am I a hypocrite?

That answer is for me alone.  You should examine this in yourself too. But rest assured, remaining with people who don’t actually support your rights is a disservice to yourself.  People who care about what you have to say won't trample your words.  I have decided that if you don't agree with me, and you have no interest in learning anything about anyone else or a point of view other than yours, you can go.  To be in alignment with myself, I need to have a tribe of people that aligns with me and I with them. Bye Karens.

The last few years have been a total rehash of the 70s and 80s, socially, politically, astrologically.
I guess we will keep having this Dejavu until we pull our heads out of our asses.
And until then I guess the hypocritical patriarchy and it’s people will keep calling all of us “angry snowflakes” and a lot of other things.

I know it’s a touchy subject because I’m white, and somehow in recent times that makes my outrage less valid.  But I truly believe in equality for ALL people.  And I am outraged at every assault against black people, children, impoverished people, women, gay and trans folk, people of all colors, shapes and sizes. I hurt every time one of these people is trampled upon.  I do the best I know how, and its tricky to know how to do it.  But I do try.

The fight for equality is an active and ugly war, still. It is the fire that burns, even though the people with power hide us under a bushel, continually.  Civil rights, women's rights, gay rights  of any substantial sort only go back to our grandparents.

  • It was during our grandmother's lives that women had the national right to vote (1920)
  • The ERA was proposed in 1923 but didn't pass until 1972.
  • In 1948 the military was de-segregated, and in 1954 the schools were. And even still, Ruby Bridges had to be escorted into school in 1960....this was just during our parents' lives.
  • It was also during our parent's lives (1955) that Rosa Parks, and countless unsung, unnamed heroes stood up for equal rights for black citizens.
  • It wasn't until the 1950's, and tenuously at best, that gay rights even dared to take a breath.
  • A Commercially available birth control pill was first available in 1960. And you had to have your husband's permission to use it...
  • In 1963 was MLK's "I have a dream" speech.  in 1964, we got the Civil Rights Act.
  • Equal pay only became a law in 1963, but  we're still a far cry from that being a reality for most women. (Ask me how I know!)
  • Countless other Civil Rights Acts were signed into law in the 60s, thanks to LIGHT workers who FOUGHT for justice.
  • In 1973,  Roe v Wade passed. And women gained full control over their reproductive rights. Sorta.
  • That same year, the American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality from a list of mental disorders!
  • The first woman served on the Supreme Court in 1980. NINETEEN EIGHTY!
  • Also in 1980, was the first mention of "gay rights" in an election
  • in 1994 Clinton signed the Violence Against Women Act to work to end domestic abuse.
  • 1997 - Ellen came out.
  • 1998 - Matthew Shepard was murdered
  • 2003 and 2004 - Gay marriage begins to be legalized.
  • In 2007, Pelosi became the first Speaker of the House. Two Thousand and Seven, y'all.
  • 2011 - the Military allows openly gay members (My children were school aged!)
  • 2013 - the Military removed the ban against women in combat.
  • 2016-  we almost had a female president, but nope, I guess we weren't ready.
  • Its 2020, and instead, we have a President who proudly proclaims things like "bleeding from her whatever" about an outraged journalist, "grab them by the pussy", and openly mocks, women, disabled people, and name calls anyone who disagrees with him.  He has a sexual crime history which we just can't bring ourselves to give a shit about. He was a close associate of Epstein, and countless other degenerates.  He's an affront to women and minority rights in every way.  But by God, Make America Great Again.
Yep. I said it and I don't care anymore who doesn't like it. It's true. If you voted because you think he represents your values, that's fine.  I don't want those values around me. And that doesn't make me a Karen, or a hypocrite.  It makes me aligned with my beliefs.  It makes me a warrior for what I know is true - that we are ALL equal in the eyes of Goddess.

When I first learned what a “light worker” was, I thought “well that’s lovely.  Like angels. Peace and love and light. Amen”. I have since realized that being a light worker is far from fluffy and love and light all the time. I’m a warrior.  I was born that way.  It was smooshed out of me for many years and  I acquiesced.  But when I had my awakening, it wasn’t about being a peace loving hippie.  It was a spark of righteous rage that grew inside me.  I was angry that I had been trampled, and I couldn't help but start to see everything differently.  I didn't want anyone to feel that way. And I knew that my journey was just a little blip compared to the hell some people live through.  I have no delusions of victimhood.  But I can't go back to sleep, nor would I chose to.  So  I point out hypocrisy, speak the ugly truth...(usually with science and facts, but also with love, and empathy and compassion and knowledge and passion) in the hopes of achieving peace eventually.   That peace starts within and spreads outward.  But don’t be fooled.  It spreads like fire, not like fairy dust.

2020 has lit me up.

Don't like me?  I'm used to it. I'll still be here fighting for equality, in every small way I can think of,  even for you. I love you, even if I think you're a misguided asshole.

Because I am a light worker, and I'm not afraid of the dark, Karen.

BitchScopes for May 4-10 - Love Her Madly

I am hopeful that this week we can collectively feel some soothing energy, hear some good news, and feel more deeply connected to ourselves and others. There are some beautiful transits this week to create this vibe. Mercury is still strong and very active this week, making deep connections for potential breakthroughs and insights. Mercury can also make you feel jittery and nervous, depending on how it lands in your personal chart. Neptune is available to help with that, but be aware that Neptunian paths often lead to dissociation by use of substances. Soothe yourself consciously.

But the big news is the full moon in Scorpio on Thursday. I generally don’t love the full moon energy but this one may be an exception for me. We’ll see. But if you are a full moon-o-phile (something I’m sure there is an actual word for), you’re sure to dig this. Scorpio full moons are deep and intimate and bring feelings to the surface. This moon trines Mercury and Neptune, offering compassion and words that feel good to us. During this time of pandemic, dischord, disagreement, dystopia, disease, and economic disaster, we really need to be soothed. No one agrees on anything right now, it seems. So let’s be very conscious this week to be very loving toward each other and really take advantage of this lunation. We need each other. I would also be lying if I didn’t tell you that this moon is pretty sexy. It’s probably not a great time to get busy with someone you don’t know (for OMG so many reasons) but if you’re in a relationship, this could bode well for deep intimacy and some steam-releasing kink. Just sayin’...sexual healing, y’all. If you’re not connected with a partner, give the gift of Scorpio to yourself!

For some reason, maybe because I made a joke with someone about it earlier this week, I keep hearing The Doors music in my head as I write this. It does embody these vibes accurately for me. Dig?

This is for you, Greg. Thank you for everything you taught me when you were here. I'll forever be naming imaginary bands... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCX8VJIYgM8

Weekly scopes by sign, with the return of nicknames…*

ARIES

This moon, and its Neptunian influence, will have you in your feelings, Clark. You may feel compelled to express yourself more during this time, maybe even verbally, which is a change up for you, since you are generally more physical.

This week offers you time to think about your financial and business goals, and the partnerships you have in place to achieve those goals. Trust is a key component for your growth in the coming days and weeks, and that means a certain amount of vulnerability. This brings us back to the feels, and the importance of intimacy with those you wish to grow alongside with.

TAURUS

Wally, this moon may tickle your urge to merge.

Wait, that’s every day. Ok well...more than usual...

This moon represents intimacy, although not just sexual. How you relate to the people around you will be highlighted by this moon. If you allow it, this moon will actually merge with YOU, and become a part of you going forward. It has the potential to really strengthen your most personal relationships, and to change how you approach these things from deep inside you.

Also, you in particular could have some great sex with an established partner during this time. So cheers, lucky Bull!

GEMINI

Jimmi, you might feel best in a bit of a cocoon this week. The isolation is somewhat forced upon all of us during this time. But you can also choose to disconnect from social media for a few days this week in order to quiet your mind. If you give yourself this time, you might uncover some career insights that could not have otherwise broken through the noise.

This moon highlights your 6th house of work, routine, and service. You could best grab hold of this energy by making some small changes to your lifestyle during this time. Whether its your morning routine, or the elimination of a particular food, this moon will help you incorporate this with more ease than usual.

If you do not currently volunteer or donate, you might consider even a small regular donation during this time. This will do more for you than you realize.

CANCER

I think you’ll feel pretty great this week, Cancer. This Scorpio moon is nestled in with Neptune, so it doesn’t get much more watery or homey for you.

Your creative streak may feel very comfortable strutting about this week, Patty. So let it run amok.

Your creativity will benefit not only you, but also your tribe. Those around you have much to learn from your “hobbies”. The things you do to cope, and feel better, have the ability to heal others and help them grow. So basically, the world needs you to enjoy yourself.

LEO

Fluffy, You may not be the biggest fan of this lunation, but then again, maybe you will. It depends on how comfortable you are with your own emotions and your ability to be honest and vulnerable. (hint: your feelings don’t have to make sense or be logical.)

Your home or personal life will ask for, if not demand, attention. But you may be more comfortable hiding in a project, a daydream, or a pint of ice cream, and that’s ok too. Ask yourself if you’re hiding from doing the work, or you’re just not willing. Relationships that have gone off track a bit can be course corrected this week if you put some energy there. On the other hand, if your gut tells you that you’re done with whatever that is, then use this time to build something new. Express yourself and your feelings to the people you trust, and nurture and soothe yourself. Build the life you want, not just the one you inherited.

VIRGO

This week is about connecting dots, creating, and communicating, Virg. You live to serve, but your best service this week is to yourself. Tap into your knowing, your gut, and explore your creative side.

Its to your greatest benefit this week that you use your words. Use them carefully, as they will have more potency than usual. But if there is something that you have not been able to resolve, this could be a week that progress is made. This is where the creativity could come in. Brainstorm on paper and see what new info might come out of your cranium. You are likely to find a creative solution and the ability to express it.

LIBRA

Libby, this week is a great time to bust out a spreadsheet and look at your budget, your long and short term goals, and the money that you share with your partner(s). Your earned income will be highlighted by this moon, but that same 2nd house also rules how you value yourself.

You don’t give yourself enough credit for how stable you are, or how hard you work. Your tendency to compare yourself to others really undermines the strength of that 2nd house. Spend some time thinking about what you have, and instead of berating yourself about what you don’t have yet, write down some of those goals and the steps needed to get there.

SCORPIO

This full moon is all yours, Sting. Its likely to be an emotional one, so try to surrender to what comes to the surface. This week your heart will have plenty to say to you. Allowing creative energy to flow through you will go a long way to making progress on anything that you haven’t yet been able to seal a deal on.

As mentioned, which I’m sure you did not miss, this is a pretty sexy and romantic moon. You are the master of sex magic, even if you have no idea what that is. Lean into that energy this week and see what can be created.

SAGITTARIUS

Not gonna lie, Terry, this week may not be super awesome and comfortable for you. Nothing to dread, per se. But you should expect the unexpected feeling to randomly ping you throughout the week. Some of what comes up may be old, and strange and hard to figure out. Don’t try too hard to solve any of it. Just be with it.

This is a great week to give yourself a break. Take a breath, give yourself some space. Chances are you’ve been quite busy lately, but you will benefit from a break, even if it seems counter intuitive.

CAPRICORN

This week might bring you into contact with people who could turn out to be important, Billy. Keep your business cards on hand and don’t be shy about making connections. Some of those connections are likely to happen online, or virtually. So when a video, or conference, or class piques your interest, jump on that. There’s a possibility that your new tribe is calling to you, so listen, and follow your gut this week. It will mean letting go of certain notions of “this isn’t practical or the right time for this”. So when your pragmatism gets in the way of a new experience, this week, just acknowledge the note and proceed with the flutter in your gut.

AQUARIUS

It IS your time to shine, Barb. Take some time to get clear on what you want to do with your gifts. The fact is, you could do just about anything, and that can create some confusion. But what do you really enjoy doing? Get clear on the steps around making that a reality. The full moon is a great time to shed things we are done with. For you, consider letting go of the expectations of others. You benefit the collective most when you are feeling your best.

PISCES

You, of all the signs, may really love this full moon week. Your feelings will be in full bloom and you will radiate strength and compassion. You give so much to others, Gill. This week, take a moment to give yourself some credit. Reflect on the importance of your presence in the big picture...it is OK to feel important, because you are.

This moon might encourage you to share some of your personal truth and wisdom, or knowledge about a project, or a technique you are really vibing with right now. . And while you might feel shy about it, lean in to the idea of sharing it. There is something waiting for your energy and it will find you when you shine your beacon.
