BitchStrology for the Week of October 9th & the New Moon Eclipse in Libra!

Well Bitches, there’s a lot to talk about!  First, there’s a New Moon this week, but it is also a Solar Eclipse. Coming in 2nd place for red-letter days, Mars enters Scorpio and Pluto goes direct in Capricorn! Mars and Pluto are both heavy hitters, so this is significant, especially when it falls in the same week.  The energy of each day this week seems organized into energetic patterns, which makes my Capricorn Stellium very happy, so let’s get into this very organized but intense week!
Monday is sensitive, compassionate, and maybe a little sad. Venus opposite Saturn is responsible for the latter, but then we have Venus conjunct Lilith for some passion meets compassion, and Mercury trine Chariklo where your compassionate message can be unlocked.
Tuesday is a day to integrate what we have confronted during Pluto’s retrograde period, which started in May.  Individually, we confront our shadow, our darker self, the Darth Vader to our Anakin. When it goes direct, if we are doing the conscious work, we integrate those lessons.
If you’ve been following BitchScopes for awhile, you know that Pluto in Capricorn has been breaking down the foundations of the Patriarchy for a few years now.  While he has been retrograde, a half ton of indictments came down on Trump’s head. Congress has been a fucking disaster.  It’s like Kindergarten cop, but with Senators.  I’m sure there’s a purpose to all of this, but we damn sure are an embarrassment on the world stage right now!
Let’s break down this Patriarchal Pluto poker game - so first, Trump & the Patriarchy showed us their cards (my analogy ends here because I am no Poker expert).  Then Pluto retrograded and went back over many of those same points (called their bluff?). Retrogrades can be interpreted in different ways, one of them being “introspection and investigation”. Yep, that happened! A couple of the high rollers in this game are Rowe V. Wade, the 2024 Election, and the hot mess of a Junior High Dance that we call “Congress”
The day that Roe v. Wade was overturned, 6/24/22, Pluto was at 27° and in his annual retrograde.  Pluto has since gone direct, and retrograde and …Pluto will now go direct at 27°! I know! It’s wild!
The battle is far from over, because Pluto moves very slowly.  He will enter Aquarius in January of 2024. In May 2024 he will retrograde again through October.  During that retrograde, he will retrace his steps in the very last degree of Capricorn…say it with me…the anaretic degree.  29° of Capricorn is not something to fuck with. Our election will happen during Pluto at 29° Cap! But when he goes forward again, he will go into Aquarius to stay until 2043!
Yes, Virginia, this is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius…or at least that’s part of the story!  Capricorn is about foundations, authority, who has it, who does it benefit, masculine energy, the Patriarchy, ambition and control.  Aquarius is still masculine, but a much higher octave. Aquarius is not about the Patriarchy, but the People. Power to the people is very much an Aquarian concept.  Aquarius is not a water sign, but an air sign. Aquarius is the water bearer, the water carrier…it transmutes water (emotions) into logic and reason.  It pours the water out among the people. It is humanitarian, non emotional, future oriented.  (and as a side note, it’s no wonder Aquarians are all a bit weird... It’s an Air sign, that carries water, that is based on a mythology about Fire!)
Ok so that’s just Tuesday, babe!
Wednesday, we are feeling a little insecure.  Mars enters Scorpio where he is intense, power hungry, passionate and jealous. Most of those things don’t come from a place of security and confidence like Mars in Aries.  Scorpio can be very paranoid, and while Mars is co-ruler of Scorpio, I do think it brings out his shadow more than his true strengths.  Also Wednesday we have the Sun opposite Chiron, and we can feel ineffective and not like a strong leader.  Then we have Saturn, now opposite Lilith.  Lilith has the desire for success, but is triggered by criticism and any hint that might remotely rhyme with “oppression”.
Thursday, we are feelin’ ourselves, but  the world isn’t quite ready for what we have yet, and we are stuck in neutral. Mercury conjuncts Pallas and quincunxes Jupiter, and we have brilliant plans, but we are suspended at the crossroads of success.  Then Pluto, now direct, quincunxes Juno which could cause a relationship issue.  Jupiter then quincunxes Pallas, which indicates that our plans, while great, are either not quite ready to fully launch, or that the world at large ain’t quite ready for us. It will come. Adjust & adapt.
Friday is a Friday the 13th, and in October, even! Attention goddesses and witches, come to the front desk please! Friday’s gonna be lit! (sorry for the fire reference, witches.)  Mars trine Saturn indicates we are strong and have the necessary perseverance, and then Mars sextiles Lilith, where passions are ignited. Um, hello, Sex Magic hotline?
Saturday is the big day. We have a New Moon Solar Eclipse at 21° of Libra. We had this exact eclipse on October 14, 2004 (remember, eclipses repeat exactly every 19 years), and Solar Eclipses tend to bring about “twists of fate” and new things.  The first eclipse in this series happened in April of this year, and you can read what I said about that here: https://kellymcclain.blogspot.com/2023/04/mercury-retrograde-solar-eclipse-at-29.html
So let’s talk about the Aries / Libra axis for a sec.  Aries, a fire sign - confident, impulsive, goal oriented, competitive, initiator.  Directly opposite Aries is Libra, an air sign like Aquarius - charming, collaborative, sometimes indecisive, balance-seeking, fairness score keeper.  Aries is about the self, Libra is about the partnership.  This series of eclipses will test, reset, refine, and surprise us along these themes.  It is better to let “Jesus take the wheel” during this energy than to try to manifest specific things. I still do set intentions of a more generic feeling, theme, or general energy, however.  Eclipses remind me of the kids board game  “Chutes and Ladders”.  Sometimes we slide to a former lesson that we maybe haven’t mastered. Sometimes we are launched ahead.  But we don’t go backwards…we only move forward.  What feels like a set back is really just our Universe Mom telling us we aren’t quite ready for our Driver’s License just yet. Eclipse energy can show up suddenly on occasion, but for most of us, it will unfold over a period of weeks, maybe even months.  This eclipse will bring balance to how we relate with others. If you’re co-dependent, expect to have that affected. If you’re hyper independent, you will be given opportunities to lean on a partner more. Sometimes finding balance means releasing your white-knuckle grip on something. Sometimes it means doing what feels like a freefall so you can be caught.  Try to stay loose.
Also on Saturday Mercury is eclipsed by the Moon, so emotion over intellect is the energy of the day for sure. Mercury is also opposite Chiron.  Mercury is in Libra, and Chiron is in Aries. The message is balance, harmony, justice, partnership, and the healing happens for the self/individual.
Sunday is messy but creative.  Mars is trine the asteroid Chaos.  The Sun is quincunx Uranus. We are driven, and we are chaotic, but we’ll get shit done. We are also restless and craving excitement and change.  Think…cleaning the garage or that one closet that is a mess…Once in a while you get a wild hair and just get after it.  Sunday has potential to be nutty or amazing...or maybe both!

Bitchstrology for the week of October 2nd - DAYUM October really came in like that?!

There's so much going on this week with the planets! I included a list of all the aspects I use to write scopes, and I don't even include minor aspects like sesquiquadrates and semi-squares etc! October ain't fucking around! And we also have 2 eclipses, one of them (nearly) on Friday the 13th and the other on Halloween weekend!

But this week...We have 3 planets changing signs (Mercury, Venus and Lilith), 7 quincunxes, and 6 trines. And wait til you see the list! (scroll to the bottom)
So I had one helluva time getting focused. Overwhelmed, distracted. I felt Neptune all up in my business! But not all is lost! I feel like there is a lot of awakening happening with all of us, and a fair amount of empowerment of the feminine. The trines indicate easy flow, and 5 out of 6 of them involves the goddesses! But with that awakening energy comes awareness. We are going to become aware of problems, and we are going to be challenged to find solutions. Quincunxes indicate an adjustment that has to be made. The 2 planets involved have nothing in common to fall back on, they are not of the same modality or element and it’s a janky 150° angle. We will have to adapt, be flexible, and work at finding common ground and solutions. Pluto is making things intense (even our internal feelings) this week, Mars is building up to a confrontation, and Neptune is making things foggy (that is 100% who I'm blaming for my ADHD!). Neptune has been in Pisces since 2012 so this is not new energy, per se. But this week he is opposite Mercury, quincunx Venus, quincunx Mars, making things weird with communication, romance, money, and desires. Your intuition is enhanced where Neptune is situated, so try to tap into your inner knowing. Your boundaries are squishy in Neptune’s realm too, so reinforce those as needed and stand in your power. Venus and Lilith are both moving into Virgo where love becomes more practical, but our insecurities can also flare up quite a bit. Mercury might be the hero this week when he moves into Libra, giving us a diplomatic tongue and a desire for more art to stimulate our intellect.
Whew. Just buckle up and try to be aware of your shadow behaviors that might get triggered this week when you feel things are out of your control. Be slow to speak and react. Spend extra time loving yourself and other people, especially the people who challenge us to be loving (…ew, I know!)
The goddesses are the key to ease and flow this week, Bitches. Lean on them!
BitchScopes focus primarily on how Neptune is fogging things up and where the planets are changing signs. But just so you can see how insane this week's sky is...

Bitchstrology for the week of September 25th

Hey Bitch Tribe,

I did some people-ing this weekend, which I don’t do often these days. It was fun to meet and hang out with new people.  But one conversation caught me off guard.  I am always interested when I run into resistance to our favorite word - Bitch (in case you needed that hint).  I encountered that this weekend just in casual, passing conversation, and it reminded me that this work still matters.

If you’re new here, this whole brand I’ve built revolves around the word Bitch because I am sick of letting certain words have power over me. Bitch has been used for centuries to shut women down. It's incredibly prevalent in the corporate world, even now.  At a certain point, after a few decades of feeling very offended by the word Bitch and many others, I was sick of feeling shitty.  To avoid "being a bitch" I kept myself small to make other people comfortable, and I kept my educated opinions to myself, and was a people pleaser in general. I was sick of trying so hard to not being a bitch, so I just fully embraced being a bitch and flipped the defintion on its head. Now, to me, a bitch is a strong woman who doesn’t put up with bullshit that is demeaning and degrading and controlling and abusive and generally shitty. A bitch is proud of who she is and where she’s been  A bitch has healthy boundaries. A bitch has good self esteem.  So when a women, especially younger than me, because I always assume younger women are strong and liberal badasses, is offended by the word, I am reminded that this message still matters.

So thanks for being my bitches. I know some of you still don’t really resonate with that word and that’s ok. You’re showing up and that matters.  You get it.  There are still lots of women who deserve to be called something…and I am still training myself to make it some other word…like asshole, or ballsack, or a new favorite, dickhole.  I’ll pause here for pearl clutching. Done? Ok cool, so anyway…it’s still a work in progress.  Sure, some women are not cool, just like some men.  But I would encourage you to retrain yourself to use the word bitch more positively.

So thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.  It is, by the way, so Gemini rising, Mercury in Capricorn in the 8th house of me to reclaim a bad word.  Geminis love words. Capricorn is pretty serious about shit. And the 8th house is where all things taboo reside.  I love learning about astrology via understanding myself and I love learning about myself via astrology!

But on to this week! There is a full moon this week in Aries, the sign of individualism. The Sun will be in Libra, the sign of relationships. So this is a classic “Me vs. We” energy.  Relationships also receive challenges via the Sun square Vesta, Venus square Uranus, the Moon quincunx Ceres, Mars square Uranus, and Uranus square Juno.  This does not mean all relationships are doomed this week, but you should be aware that tensions may arise.

Restlessness is a theme this week, both from Aries and quite a bit of Uranus energy.  Affections are high, but so is tension and restlessness, and this is a recipe for affairs and impulsive behavior. Check yourself.  Emotions will run high most of the week and a Full Moon is always known for that.  Boundaries are very important this week, and compassion for self and others is needed. Sometimes setting a boundary is an act of compassion, so hang on to that idea.

Let’s look at that Full Moon in Aries. This full moon is the counterpart to the Aries New Moon in April of this year, which was an eclipse. That eclipse was at 29° of Aries and was a new path for many of us.  29° indicates an end and a readiness to move on, as it is the last degree of any sign. It’s called the Anaretic degree in astrology and I’ve blogged about it many times. New moons in and of themselves indicate new beginnings. Aries is the initiator.  That Aries New Moon Solar Eclipse was the first of the eclipses on the Aries/Libra axis. Those eclipses will continue into all of 2024.  The last time we had Aries and Libra eclipses was in 2015 and in 2004, and with the latter, the degrees are an exact match (eclipses repeat in exact sign and degree every 19 years).  I will have a lot more to say about these eclipses in the next couple of weeks, but that is the energy of this Full Moon.

New moons are new beginnings, setting intentions and focusing on what you want to manifest in your life.  New Moons are for planting seeds. Full Moons bring things into completion and fruition. They illuminate things we didn’t know or see before. Full moons are for harvesting. And this Aries New Moon is called “The Harvest Moon”. It carries the initiating energy of Aries so it is great for entrepreneur energy.  This is metaphorically our last push out into the world before we begin the cold, internal season.  What do you not want to hibernate with this winter? Consider releasing those things on this moon.  But also let’s recognize the big creative energy in its fullness with the full moon.  Be bold. Claim confidence.  Set boundaries.  Go after what you want!

While doing my homework for this week’s scopes I rediscovered the song “Harvest Moon” by Neil Young.  I learned a lot about Neil Young actually. 1) he always records under a full moon. Read what he says about it here  2)  Neil Young is married to Daryl Hannah!  Did you know this?! I did not! They married in 2018!   3) Neil has recorded either 28 or 26 songs about the moon.  This blog was the only list I could find and it lists 26.  4) Neil Young doesn’t like Joe Rogan (yay, me neither!)
