BitchScopes for July 13-20

My most glittery apologies for the absence of BitchScopes last week.  I was stuck in bed with a pinched nerve in my back.  If you read my last BitchScope intro, I was talking about the eclipse closing out old chapters, shelving old stories, and big, significant healings from the past.  This back injury definitely has an emotional component to it. (I talked about it on BitchSplaining with Crisann last week)  I just did not have the ability to sit at my desk or even to focus on writing for the several hours that it requires. 

But I’m back, no pun intended.  I saw a Doctor I really liked (which is unusual) and got some relief.  

So this week we are focusing on the transits from 7/13-7/19.  However, on 7/20 we have a very significant lunation to discuss and I don’t want to talk about it after the fact, so I’m including it in this week’s scopes.  

We have a double new moon. Some are calling this a “Black Moon”, but, similar to a Blue Moon  the definitions are always debated.  Debate and terminology aside, we had a Cancer New Moon on June 21, and now we have another Cancer New Moon on July 20th. 

It is interesting to me that last year’s Mercury retrogrades were in the water signs, and this years Mercury retrogrades repeat that.  We have a lot of water, emotions, and Cancer energy to navigate this year.  We are repeating a class, or a grade level of sorts.  

The United States is also a Cancer.  I don’t think I need to elaborate…

This double New Moon presents us with a potent opportunity  to review the goals and intentions we set in the previous cycle and tweak the recipe as needed. We are starting a brand new chapter.  It’s like the energy of picking a college/buying a house or car/getting married etc.    We are committing to a new beginning, so we are being offered a chance to make sure things are where we want them. 

So wherever you have Cancer in your chart, you will feel a more intense focus. Cancer is about home and family, as well as what makes us feel secure. 

In June we may have gotten a little too excited, being released from our home jails into the world to actually eat at restaurants and go to beaches etc.  But boom, then we had a Full moon in Capricorn and we went, “Oh Shit...oopsie” and back to our rooms!  We are still trying to figure out what life at home looks like, and it is a lot to figure out! Home is everything right now - it’s our office, our school classroom, our spa, our movie theater, our dinner date venue, our wine tasting room, etc.  So it makes sense that that part of our lives has our full attention.  

A new moon is the best time to set intentions and manifest.  So if you did some manifesting on the June 21 new moon, tweak those or give them some extra power for Cancer New Moon 2.0.  Here’s some questions to tickle your brain: 

Who is my true family?

How do I protect and nurture the people and things that are important to me?

How do I nurture myself?

How can I trust my intuition more?

How are my childhood experiences reflected in my life now and what would I like to change?

Are my relationships healthy?

What is my emotional IQ? Am I able to express my feelings? If not, why? 

What is my relationship with guilt?

Aries

Your home life has likely undergone some major shifts in the last couple years.  This week and next you have the opportunity to really set your home life up the way you’d like.  Your family may grow in the near future.Your career and cash flow  may be boosted in this new cycle as well, possibly as a result of a truly happy home. Keep yourself in check at work and don’t be too impulsive. 

Taurus

Its time for you to step into your own power and share your gifts.  You may think that you just have common sense to offer, but trust me...it is needed out there.  You might surprise yourself this week by doing something out of the ordinary for you.  Following that energy could yield awesome results for you professionally. 

Gemini

Money flows where your energy goes. Whatever financial plans  you may have had, its possible you’ve now been shown the chinks in the armor.  You get a rare chance for a do-over now. Any information that was missing should be available to you now, and you’ll be able to see some movement.  Your social side may be feeling sad with all this isolation.  But this week things could come together for reconnection. Lean into your vulnerabilities and feelings now and going forward, and you will probably find it benefits you in more than one way.

Cancer

This new cycle we are all entering urges you to be more of yourself, or more of who you want to be.  The planets are in your corner, literally.  You should find all the resources you need to succeed, and feel more welcomed by the world than in times past.  Emotional expression is what’s up for you this week and next.  Be mindful of expressing your anger in a calm, strategic way, especially in professional circles.

Leo

Quarantine may be driving you batty, and it may be time you reached out for some counseling or guidance. If your living situation isn’t working for you, now is the time to make the necessary changes. Your work-life balance may be slightly out of tune as well, and your attention to restoring health to that axis is important.  When you’re not working on your personal life, allow yourself to dream and fantasize about what you want your life to look like.  That energy translates into reality more than you realize.

Virgo

Your friendships or tribe situation may be wonky lately.  The rest of this month offers you time to tune up what may be out of tune in those areas. You may be itching to get out of town, and you may throw planning out the window to do so, surprising yourself in the process.  Following these energies will boost your own energy in a big way.  Lead with your heart, not your head. 

Libra

Your time is here.  You are due to be recognized, promoted, and otherwise see the professional progress you’ve been waiting for!  You may have had something in the works for your career for awhile now, but it has probably been slow going because of retrogrades abd eclipses and general labor of information because of the state of the world.  But you could get great news in the coming weeks.  I’ll go ahead and congratulate you now. 

Scorpio

The cosmos is encouraging you to dream big.  Travel, adventure and other 9th house stuff is ready for you to dive in.   You may have been discouraged because things didn’t seem to be moving much, but this double new moon is poking you and asking you to really let yourself believe.  Your romantic life could get deeper in the coming weeks as well. 

Sagittarius

You should be able now to plow through some money matters that have been in your way for awhile. Also, possibly connected to that issue, living arrangements that have been less than ideal can get rearranged in the coming weeks.  Money should flow more smoothly which will help lots of relationships feel easier.  

Capricorn

Your sign is clear from eclipses for a few years, and over the next couple, the intense pressure to transform every.freakin.thing in life will lighten up.   You’ve had to deep dive into your self and going forward, it will be easier to connect with a partner.   Your creativity will be in high gear and it will be a good way for you to deal with the emotional overflow you may be feeling.  

Aquarius

So you had a plan to get healthier, and then life gave you squirrels. But you can get back on track for real now. It’s time for the person who carries everyone else’s water to sit down and have a glass.  You might even find that you want to share some of this self care with your partner. 

Pisces

You’ve likely been focused on your career and professional life for awhile now.  But you get to shift gears now and focus on love, relationships, family, and nesting.   Your closest relationships can get a needed boost and you can start to feel cozy and safe in your home again.  

Message for the week of July 6th

I hope you’ll forgive the absence of BitchScopes this week.  I am sidelined with a gnarly back injury and I could not will myself to sit at the computer for hours.  

In place of scopes I’ve pulled a couple cards from my two decks  

My second deck, Resistance is Futile, speaks to the emotions we repress.  Repressed emotions will often express (involuntarily) as anger.  Anger is the easiest and basest emotion to grab on to.  Sometimes what comes out as anger is actually fear or sadness (or grief)

 One of these cards talks about fear being oppressive and holding us down, and back.  The other card speaks to the fact that even during times when you feel like crap, even if you’re going through difficult transitions and painful transformations, you are still being blessed. You are still fabulous. The fact that you are going through a transformation makes you MORE fabulous! 

When we go through difficulties, it’s important that we allow ourselves to feel all of our feelings- all of them.  Don’t judge your feelings or your self. Don’t be afraid of your feelings,  because fear will derail you, and your feelings will become more fearful. Also, when possible, don’t hide your process.  Be vulnerable when you feel you can be.  Other people who are struggling will be so blessed by your openness.  We are all human and that’s not always pretty.  

Whatever you’re going through now, just allow it to flow and blow through your life. There is beauty in the breakdown.  

Eclipse Insights

Well this week there are a couple things to discuss, but the big focus is the Lunar Eclipse on Saturday July 4th  (late the 4th and very early the 5th in some places).  This Full Moon is in Capricorn, opposite the Sun in Cancer. This lunation asks us about how we can have the harmonious home life we all crave, shedding light on the tension between nurturing ourselves and our responsibility to others. 

One way of looking at at this (archetypally and admittedly gender normatively) is the difference between how a mother tends to her family and how a father tends to his family. Do success and money bring ease and joy, or do ease and joy help manifest money and abundance?

This eclipse is also an emotional reset. This moon opposes Mercury, which means expressing your feelings is important during this time. The trouble may be that Mercury is also retrograde, so accessing and making sense of those feelings could be a little more difficult than usual.

To help gather your thoughts about this, consider that this set of eclipses began in July of 2018. Where were you, what was happening, what were you trying to achieve? As I typed the above I was a little gobstopped and paused to chuckle.

I met Patrick in the summer of 2018 (we met online in May, and in person in August.) In July we were feverishly anticipating that meeting, and how our relationship would progress. We’ve been together ever since, even though he works overseas. This Spring he came home for vacation as he does every few months, and got stuck here because of Covid. Figuring we’d take advantage of our time together and not knowing when he’d have to return, we got married in June! So we officially enter a new phase of our relationship now! (2020 also gave me the balls to finally quit a job that I hated for 7 years!)

Eclipses come in pairs and repeat in patterns. About every 10 years you’ll see the same sign pairing and every 19 years you’ll see exact degree repetition. We had Cancer/Capricorn eclipses in 2000/2001, and again in 2009/2010. This years 2020 eclipses match sign and degree to the 2001 eclipses almost exactly. (in 2001 I landed an amazing job. In 2009 I lost that job. In 2010 I left my marriage. In 2020 I quit a long term job and re-married...whoa!)

Hindsight is 20/20. And 2020 is fucking crazy. So it's nearly impossible to truly predict what will come of these events. I did not anticipate any of the above! But what is clear is that Eclipses set things in motion at a much faster pace, and they bring closure, culmination, and new beginnings. Sure, beginnings come from endings. But rather than look at that as always negative, which we all tend to, think of this...My single life and corporate slavery both end, so I can begin a marriage and self employment! That doesn’t suck. And truly neither do any of the changes happening for you. Life is happening FOR you, not TO you. Admittedly that’s very hard to see sometimes!


June 30 - Jupiter conjunct Pluto (both retrograde) - Overcoming challenges and obstacles. Our inner badass comes to play. Drive to pursue our passions (Happened on 4/4 and will happen again on 11/12)

July 1 – Sun sextile Uranus - exciting encounters

July 4/5 – Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn - Emotions Vs. Responsibilities
ARIES - It feels like a lot of your focus will be on your public image, which may or may not be a part of your career path (It could be that your image becomes more public as a result of your partner’s career path). You might be craving physical adventure and intellectual electricity. Who am I to tell an Aries no? Not this Bitch...go for it!

TAURUS - Experience and intimacy are on the menu for you now. And honestly, isn’t that every day for a Taurus? You will be craving extra depth of conversation, and maybe some adventure or exciting experience. If you need guidance, think about taking a class for something totally new, by yourself or with a partner (Tantra comes to mind….)

GEMINI - To be honest, we both know you are not particularly famous for your long term relationships, or your ability to form deep, profound bonds. But this week you may be craving all of that, and it may confuse you a bit. Vulnerability is key, even if it’s just with yourself.

CANCER - Tell the kids to go play in the yard, because you may want some play time with your significant other. Truth is, you may join the kids, because fun is what’s on the agenda. Creativity, connection, romance...all of that is up for grabs this week. Make sure you are able to receive joy as well as you provide it...

LEO - Take yourself for a walk. Get outside. Jump around. Start a new fitness plan or set a new goal for daily movement. You will need to adjust your schedule to make time for this, so don’t allow yourself to look at your calendar and say “Nope, I just can’t!” because we both know you are creative enough to figure this out.

VIRGO - Creativity, art, and connecting with others thorugh play are things you’d benefit from pursuing this week. Don’t be surprised when you look at your daily schedule in your color coded organizer and feel like saying “fuck it”. Lean in to that and go dancing!

LIBRA - Your daydreams of making money via a passion project are not just silly. Allow yourself to really envision a successful life where you do something you really love. You might even consider doing this project with your significant other. At the very least, share it with them. What you allow yourself to dream about right now can make its way into your reality in the future.

SCORPIO - Allow yourself to get a little lost in a fantasy that is actually quite possible. Lean into your romantic side and create some magic for yourself and your family this week. Some minor family hiccups could crop up, but don’t bury your head. Instead, speak from your heart and things will heal much faster.

SAGITTARIUS - It’s fair to say that you always put your heart into your work. This week you could feel especially emotionally connected to your daily tasks. Your fire to achieve is stoked and your bottom line will benefit. Follow your joy to the bank!

CAPRICORN - Your passion could get a turbo boost this week and next! Your vision suddenly feels more in reach and your focus is on point. Follow your gut and lean into your deep inner knowing to learn your next steps. Your hard work of the last few years may finally show real fruit!

AQUARIUS - Your brilliant imagination could be the key to the financial success you’ve had your eye on for a while. It might be tempting to map out the course, but currently your energy is better served by simply envisioning the reality you want. You may feel kind of worn out this week anyway, so rest, reflection, meditation and manifesting are your medicines!

PISCES - Your week is likely to be filled with your people. Connections of all kinds are available to help you find success. The support of your tribe builds your confidence and you’ll be a force of nature as you move ahead on your path.
