Major Astro Highlights for 2023 and long term predictions

2023 has 3 major players changing signs…actually 4.  Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter, and the Lunar Nodes will all move into new signs this year! That’s a lot! Pluto changes signs only every 20 years. Saturn changes signs every 3 ½ years. The lunar nodes shift around every 18 months. And Jupiter changes signs each year.  For all of those major outer planets to be changing in one year spells some major changes.  Luckily they aren’t all going to happen this year, but the ingress of each of these planets will be felt!

Pluto is the slowest and creates the deepest social changes. Saturn is felt more personally but also rules social structures.  Jupiter is so big that honestly, it touches everything. Luckily, Jupiter’s influence is mostly beneficial, with the warning that it can lead to over-doing things.

Let’s break down what’s happening this year and look at some of my predictions

Pluto in Aquarius

On March 23, 2023 Pluto will move into Aquarius for the first time since 1778.  If that date rings a bell, that’s the birthdate of the USA, which is why you’ve been hearing about the US’s Pluto return. It’s evident if you observe or live in the US that things are rather unsettled (ahem: understatement?)

Interesting side note here - look at the date of this ingress - 3/23/23.

Pluto in Capricorn gave power to government and corporations in its 20 year reign.  Now power will be shifting to the people.  That is probably not going to happen quietly. Aquarius represents rebellion, and I’m sure we’ll see plenty more of what we are already seeing.

Pluto in Aquarius is also going to favor feminism, tribes and smaller collectives within the major collective.

Themes: Power & control, scapegoating, revolution, transformation, societal norms and rules, Shadows, humanitarianism, personal freedoms, death and dying,  Innovation, Fanaticism (fixed energy + power), Questioning authority, questioning technology,  Science,

My Pluto in aquarius predictions

  • more humanitarianism, perhaps even mandated charity
  • Discovery of misuse of funds by some charities
  • More blue states
  • The reappearance of workers unions
  • Major rise in Technology and spike in the use of Artificial intelligence
  • Questions of the ethics around robotics, AI, and synthetic companions (see the show WifeLike)
  • Questions and examinations of social media, concepts of privacy, perhaps conversations about the NSA
  • Tik Tok will be out and I think YouTube will regain some popularity
  • Changes in the film industry practices in general: The Alec Baldwin issue, ethics in pornography, equal pay
  • Kardashians are out
  • Gun control is very likely to happen over this 20 year period. Hopefully sooner than later!
  • Changes in the funeral industry and the way we bury people (mushroom suits, tree pods etc. becoming more popular)
  • science as the new religion
  • fanaticism about science,  death,  about “the fountain of youth”, and discoveries in Science about delaying or defeating death!
  • Libertarianism becoming a viable 3rd party
  • A revamping of the UN
  • First female president in the US is not only likely, but its overdue. If we don’t accomplish that in the next 20 years then…WTF
  • Scottish independence - This prediction is backed by Scotland’s history and other astro events. Their exit from the UK would have major implications for Britain.
  • The end of plutocracy, the Elon era, and the 1% bullshit
  • When Pluto retrogrades into Capricorn and squares the lunar nodes, I predict business with Trump will be trying to finalize in some way.
  • a rise in fascist vs anti fascist discussions, activity, demonstrations (the world is ripe for a new fascist dictator)

Saturn in Pisces

On March 7 Saturn will leave Aquarius for Pisces. This should be interesting! These are totally opposite energies - Saturn is boundaries and rules and Pisces is connectedness and spiritual.

Saturn in Pisces Dates

February 14th 1935, to April 25th 1937
October 17th 1937, to January 14th, 1938
March 23rd, 1964, to September 16th, 1964
December 16th, 1964, to March  3rd, 1967
May 21st, 1993, to June 30th, 1993
January 28th, 1994, to April  7th, 1996
March  7th, 2023, to May 24th, 2025
September  1st, 2025, to February 13th, 2026

Themes: Religion, discipline, boundaries, lack of boundaries, confronting addiction, charity, compassion, depression, melancholy,  immigration law, Fascism vs anti fascism (again. This concept will be big).

We are already seeing a decline in organized religions, and Christianity has come under heavy criticism over the last few years.  As Christianity declines (its a cycle…it’ll come back, weirder), antisemitism is likely to surge.

Hitler came into power during Saturn in Pisces,

  • Emergence of belief systems that focus on autonomy (the church of satan was founded under saturn in pisces)

he wanted to eradicate the Christian church. We already know what else he wanted to eradicate.  Also during this transit, the Church of England allowed its first female priests.  New age and esoteric religions have generally become popular during these cycles.

Saturn in Pisces could be lonely, and we might see a lot more discussion around depression. The health care entities in the Western world are likely to formally embrace mental health care in a more significant way. Also very likely are more public discussions about substance additions, recovery, sobriety.  Melancholy will be a theme that we will see played out in music, movies, and literature. Nihilism will slowly move on as we realize that we can’t just sit on our asses and be sad about climate doom etc.

My Predictions for Saturn in Pisces

  • Melancholy as an artform and cultural vibe
  • Israel- Palestine escalation
  • Birth control protection will be codified (birth control was developed under Saturn in Pisces)
  • Religious zealotry
  • Minimum age issues examined (driving, drinking, social media ad targeting, etc).
  • Regulation over technology
  • Big pharma will be called out in a major way, and western medicine will begin to move away from hard core pain killers (I just saw a new technique for post C-sections that involves an implanted thread that delivers just lidocaine to the area via a balloon and pump!)
  • Prison reform - specifically I expect to see some people released who are in prison for just Cannabis.
  • A new prohibition and attempts to de-popularize drinking.  Non drinkers as a new social norm (bespoke mocktails industry is already forming)
  • Conspiracy theories will settle down
  • Younger generations who have been complaining about our collective doom will need to get their shit together and get jobs.
  • Interest in Psychology will surge
  • Psychedelics will be the new Marijuana

Jupiter in Taurus

On May 16, Jupiter will leave Aries for Taurus. Jupiter has a tendency to color the year as a whole. Jupiter in Aries has given us confidence, which we needed as we came out of a frickin pandemic.  We started new things, whether it was a new business, or new ways of self care.  Jupiter in Taurus will help us nurture those things.  This is like the 2nd phase of a 12 step process and we go from infancy to toddlerhood.  But like any good toddler, Jupiter in Taurus can definitely go overboard and do too much of something...like open the peanut butter and smear it from head to toe. Jupiter will expand whatever it touches. So major transits like the conjunction to the north node will make that energy extra strong.

My Jupiter in Taurus Predictions:

  • Be careful who you put your faith in (the world is ripe for a fascist leader)
  • Pleasure seeking & Hedonism will surge for a bit (society is already moving away from organized religion)
  • Liberalism and the Labor Parties will be strengthened.
  • Theme of rebuilding (various things around the world, some cities and countries, literally)

Venus Retrograde

On July 23 (another 23) Venus will begin a retrograde cycle.  Venus retrogrades are not common and we tend to feel them pretty profoundly.  Not all relationships are doomed, of course. In fact, the transit of Venus through Leo (and the retrograde makes that a longer transit than normal) will bring out romanticism and sappyness.  We will want to be coupled, loved, seen, adored, appreciated (all Venus things). But that can also make us feel vulnerable.

Venus will retrograde in Leo, the sign that rules romance, at 28° and will station direct at 12° Leo on September 24th.  If there was ever a retrograde where old loves might show up, its this one! Romance also might be a bit dramatic, like the last scene of a romcom where one person is racing against time to catch the other person.

Just because an old love is knockin' on the door, doesn't mean you have to open it!

Focus on people that bring out the best in you, regardless of Venus' placement!

Mercury retrogrades every year, so I won't spend too much time on this.  All of Mercury's retrogrades this year are in Earth signs, so themes are: malfunctions with physical things like cars, phones, etc.,  security, money, authority, confidence; focus on practicality rather than introspection

Mercury Retrograde in Taurus  April 21 - May 14

Themes: purchases, money, income, what we value, insecurity/security

Mercury Retrograde in Virgo  August 23 - September 15

Themes: plans go awry, things stop working, overanalyzing, be prepared, anxiety

Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn and Sagittarius December 13 - January 1 (similar to how we just ended a year in merc rx in cap!)

Themes: system reset, double-check travel plans, monitor your expectations, be realistic, slow down, avoid heated discussions at the holiday table (I'm lookin' at you Sagittarius!)

Lunar nodes moving into Aries (N) and Libra (S)

On July 18 the nodes of the moon will shift signs from the North Node in Taurus to the North Node in Aries (and the South Node in Libra).  This is an 18 month cycle. For reference, the last time the North Node was in Aries was 2005-2006.  In reverse, the last time the North Node was in Libra was 2014-2015.

These transits can be very personally enlightening and they always trigger path corrections or big moves forward. For example, I am a natal capricorn north node. The last time the NN was in Cap was 2009-2011 and that is precisely when I left my marriage …TO a cancer, it was completely codependent (because he was abusive so I walked on eggshells), which is very cancerian.  While the NN was in Cancer in 2020, I left my corporate job (which was a lot like my marriage!) to be my own boss (capricorn). The north node entered cancer on what would have been my anniversary!

Under the North Node in Taurus, we are likely to be experiencing a release of things like seducing, manipulating, using sex as a weapon, being overly secretive, relying on other people’s money.  And we likely have experienced an increased focus on: truth, grounding yourself, sex as a means of connection, no bullshit, making your own money.

As the North Node moves into Aries, we can expect to be working on releasing: Hiding behind relationships, accepting 2nd place in a partnership,  being too comfortable/complacent, avoiding confrontation, competition and challenge, being the peace keeper, compromising too much, being passive aggressive or co-dependent.

And our lessons will be around embracing our own leadership, prioritizing our own needs and goals, risk taking, standing up for what you believe in, self care, learning to express anger in a positive and healthy way.

Eclipses

The last eclipses on this lunar axis were in 2014-2015. Think back to major events during that time and you will get a flavor of the upcoming eclipses. But they are never exactly the same, so don't apply too much literalness to it.

Total Solar Eclipse in Aries  April 20

Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio  May 5

Solar Eclipse in Libra  October 14

Lunar Eclipse in Taurus  October 28

I could have danced all night - BitchScopes for the week of December 26, 2022 - January 2, 2023

Happy Post-Xmas, and Happy New Year, Bitches. I have a weird relationship with the holidays and I’m not sure why. Maybe it's an empath thing, maybe its just a human thing. But I’m always glad when it's over. BitchScopes are coming to you a little later in the week than normal because I’m intentionally taking it very slow this week, and maybe next, until the kids go back to school.

If you read last week’s scopes, I went hard into Nerdville. We started 2022 with a new moon in Cap at 12° and our last moon of 2022 was a new moon in Cap at 1°. We also started 2022 with a Mercury in retrograde in (Aquarius and then) Cap. There is a clear message here about doing a real review of progress and problems and really offering things up for healing. 2023 feels like a year where things might really turn a corner. I think I’ll write a separate blog entry (and likely a podcast episode) with my feelings of what might unfold in 2023. But let’s just look at this week…

There’s some strong indications of “us” trying to figure out our relationships with others and maintain our independence, and Venus and Mercury are both very active this week.

Mercury square Eris is rebellious, controversial, intense speech, and a desire for independence. Because Mercury stations retrograde this week, he will be going over this aspect twice, so it's worth mentioning.

Venus squares Eris is about passions, desires, and seduction to get what we want.

Venus sextiles Neptune is sweet, romantic, affectionate and loving.

Mercury goes retrograde in Capricorn and then immediately conjuncts Venus right before she enters Aquarius. One last kiss before you get on the train. This Mercury retrograde is saying slow down, chill out. Put your ambitions on the back burner for 3 weeks and reconnect with ourselves and those around us. Don’t argue, don’t confront…just be. Because we started this year with a Mercury retrograde in Cap, ending it the same has a weird symmetry and synchronicity I haven’t seen very often. Really take time to reflect. Capricorn is traditional stuff so reflect on what traditions and values work and don’t work for your family. What are the cornerstones of your moral compass and foundation? Do those still hold up?

Sun quincunx Mars retrograde (yes, Mars is STILL retrograde) is a need to reconcile and align your core identity and your desires. Is what you say you want really want you want? Do your actions match up with your sense of self? Are you walking the walk?

Venus Conjunct Pluto is passion and desire and trying to form new ways of connecting and relating.

Mercury retrograde sextile Neptune stimulates your mind and creativity. Music is the best way to tap into this.

On my BitchStory podcast a couple months ago we did an episode of lesser known women in classical music. Some of the women were very ground breaking for the times they were active composers, because women often weren’t allowed to do these things. (If the link doesn't work, go to Anchor.fm/bitchstory and look for  “lesson 30”.)

I created a playlist that is really awesome because it spans a couple of centuries and some of it is quite moving.

Female jazz vocalists might also help you tap into your romantic and creative feelings.

Monday of next week the Sun trines the North Node and squares Chiron.  Sun square Chiron is a bit of an existential crisis, and asks us to question who we are as well as pushing us to utilize our wounds to further uncover the truth of our soul purpose. This could be a painful day of deep feelings and insecurities for some of us. The Sun trine North Node is a very lucky and fate-filled transit that can bring encounters that also move you ahead.

Venus in Aquarius is focused on ethics and philanthropy as a form of love.

The goddess energies of Juno, Eris, and Pallas are strong this week and while they are more subtle than some other other planetary energies, I feel they really offer up the themes of the week:

Can you be who you really are within your relationships? Is there space for you to question, grow, rebel? Is there space for you to succeed and be recognized? Is the morality of your relationship aligned with who you are?

This week's scopes will focus on Mercury retrograde as well as Venus and the questions I posed above. And I think I feel like throwing a card in there. Let's call it a theme for your 2023 and you can use it if it resonates with what you're already feeling aligned with.  I'm using "Tarot of the Divine" by Yoshi Yoshitani because you can focus on both a tarot and a god, goddess, or a fable for inspiration and guidance. Happy New Year!

And for a real BitchScopes twist - read and apply the tarot card to your moon sign!

ARIES - Mercury retrograde will happen in your 10th house of career, urging you to take care of old business. You should prepare yourself for communication issues with a leader.  You might have the opportunity to re-apply for a job you didn't get in the past...do it! Focus on current projects vs. new ones. Venus is going to shift from practical to philanthropic.

Your tarot card for 2023 is....the 10 of wands.  Beware of taking on too much this year, and refusing to ask for help. Watch yourself for overwhelm, stress, obligation, and stubborn martyr behavior. The 10 of Wands also pertains to fulfillment of a lifetime of efforts. tale of the Timbo Tree (Paraguay, Guarani Legend) is your message: the head of a tribe, Saguaa, had a daughter who fell in love with a warrior he did not like, so she left with her lover.  He went searching for her alone and for years, often refusing help and he could not find her. He finally put his ear to the ground to listen for her and there he died.  When he died a Timbo tree grew from his ear, symbolizing the fruits he labored for but was unable to enjoy (the fruit of the timbo tree is rather ear shaped), as well as a father's undying love.   This ties in nicely with the message about Mercury retrograde in your 10th house - 10th house and Capricorn are both associated with male figureheads and father energy.

TAURUS - Mercury retrograde will happen in your 9th house of beliefs and learning, urging you to 66 reexamine what you believe and put your faith in.  Is your life lined up with your personal ethics? What are your long term goals? If you have the opportunity to un-fuck an exam or a class you took, go for it!  Venus is going to shift from understanding the world to understanding power and control.

Your tarot card for 2023 is... The 5 of Swords.  This card speaks to a battle won by deceit or bullying, and a warning about betrayal. Watch for this in your involvement with others, but also in yourself. The myth assigned to this card is Osiris, Set and Isis. Set overthrows his brother, Osiris, and gloats over his grieving wife. Set is a tyrant, and Isis is defeated...but not forever. She will eventually bring about his defeat.  This seems dark for a card to guide the year, but here's some phrases that may help you digest this: prepare for people to disappoint you with their morals and tactics. Accept your losses gracefully. Resist the urge to press forward against all odds. That sounds romantic and noble, but the price may be too high once you actually win.  The path to your success may be filled with conflict, but be strategic and don't engage in open conflict.  Lose the battle, win the war. And since I'm talking to a Taurus, perhaps...slow and steady wins the race.  I think its interesting that this lesson and theme is aligned so well with the mercury retrograde theme in your 9th house.

GEMINI- Mercury retrograde will happen in your 8th house of where you end and "other" begins. Make sure you have a good handle on your debts.  Have the difficult conversation about sex. Tell your lover your deep secrets.  Venus is going to shift from understanding your self in the context of intimate relationship (8th house) to understanding your self in terms of the world (9th house)

Your tarot card for 2023 is...The 2 of Swords (which goes well with Gemini energy!). This is 2 hard choices, a bitter tie, an impasse, a standstill, writer's block, negotiations breakdown, opposing forces, diverging ideologies.  This is defensive energy, a touchy situation & the energy of facing fears.  This decision calls for self reflection, but eventually the balance must be broken and a choice made. The lesson for this card is the myth of Scylla and Charibdes...like the saying "caught between a rock and a hard place, only in this case, caught between a whirlpool and a monster with 2 heads. (Interestingly, this is referenced in The Police song "Wrapped around your finger"- I never knew the meaning and never looked it up... and I consider myself a big Police fan. Nerd fail!

You consider me the young apprentice
Caught between the Scylla and Charibdes
Hypnotized by you if I should linger
Staring at the ring around your finger

Your message is: call a truce, take a timeout, delay your decision, don't be pressured into a decision, protect your self/heart.

CANCER - Mercury retrograde will happen in your 7th house of relationships.  Misunderstandings and miscommunications with your partner(s) are likely, but need not be a crisis. Airing differences of opinion can be very healthy. Venus is going to shift from relationship to intimacy, and apart from the obvious, this can play out in a variety of ways.

Your tarot card for 2023 is...The Queen of Wands.  Look for a woman who is an Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius to be an energy for this year. Or, find this energy within yourself. Lead.  Be assertive. Have confidence. Be 100% that Bitch! Your goddess is Pele. She embodies the energy of the volcano, and the chaos that I am always blathering about being a fundamental part of creativity. Volcanos erupt, creating death and destruction, but they also create literal land expansion. The soil is nourished and thrives. The seedlings benefit from the heat.  Perhaps you should take up some Hula lessons and embrace your feminine power of creation and beauty and expression.  I would encourage you to embrace the energy of the world "aloha". We know it means hello, goodbye, etc.   It is also about fellowship and family. The word itself means "the presence of breath" or "the breath of life." It comes from "Alo," meaning presence, front and face, and "ha," meaning breath. Aloha is a way of living and a spirit of love and respect that starts with loving our self.

LEO -Mercury retrograde will happen in your 6th house of wellness and routines. Traffic jams on the way to work, lost weekly reports, and missing emails about your Dr. appointment or Yoga class are all possible. Venus is going to shift from practical and duty bound to commitment oriented (...that looks interesting!)

Your tarot card for 2023 is...The Hermit.  This should be interesting, a Leo and a Hermit.  Though if you're reading this for your moon sign as I suggested, Leo has a more subtle energy. And fortunately, you don't have to become a hermit, or a recluse, or an introvert.  Though this card is about withdrawal, introspection, meditation, and intense study, it is also about gained wisdom through a probably difficult journey.  Should you be depressed, don't hide from it. Take it out of the bag and talk about it with someone you trust (or journal about it). The Celtic myth of the White Stag is on this card, which encourages the pursuit of spirituality.  The White Stag cannot be caught, and represents the unending quest for spiritual knowledge, as well as an examination of one's transgressions. The Hermit is the 9th card, and 9s represent completion and the end of a cycle. It is appropriate that as you look around you and take stock of your achievements thus far, you take a beat to pause and ponder.

VIRGO - Mercury retrograde will happen in your 5th house of romance and play. You are the one whose ex lover may come a knockin'. Or maybe a you get a chance to reconnect with a child. Venus is going to shift from sexy to routine, which could cause problems, especially if that old lover does come around! All relationships evolve and no phase is permanent.  Routines can be very freeing and reassuring (which I know you know).

Your tarot card for 2023 is...The Fool.  I really love this card because its always about a new adventure, freedom, new beginnings. After endings come beginnings. The myth associated with this card is  Danish tale of "The Little Mermaid" and I trust we all know it by now.   The mermaid is ready to dive into a new life, out of the unconscious mind of Neptune's realm and into physical reality, warnings and daddy be "danged" (dang, not damn...cuz she's innocent...haha) (This pairs beautifully with Virgo's dual energy of virgin and seductress.)  This doesn't mean you have to sell all your belongings and live off grid in a tiny house, though no one is really stopping you.  It just means take a risk, take a chance, lighten up and enjoy what life has to offer...even stuff that isn't on your spreadsheet (Look I can't help it!)

LIBRA - Mercury retrograde will happen in your 4th house of family and home. So misunderstandings, miscommunications, and general angst with family communications are all possible.  You might also redecorate some rooms in your home to make it feel more like you. Venus is going to shift from family values to sexy and romantic.  I don't think I need to elaborate on that.

Your tarot card for 2023 is...The Star.  This is one of the best cards you can have. The themes of this card are hope, serenity, inspiration, insight, optimism, and recovery.  The card from this deck lists a Russian Fairy Tale of Sister Alyonuskha and Brother Ivanuska, and its a little dark, but the moral is making the best out of bad situations and having hope and trust for things to get better. This card is #17 (one of my favorite numbers) which reduces to an 8, the number of abundance.  2023 is a year where you will be recovering, rebuilding, and rehabilitating (probably related to family) from a hard couple of years.

SCORPIO - Mercury retrograde will happen in your 3rd house of communication and understanding. So you get a real classic Mercury Rx experience here. Double check everything, proof read more than once, and make sure things with moving parts (cars, refrigerators, heaters) are tuned up. Venus is going to shift from socializing to creating a responsible family unit, thought it might not play out exactly in those terms.

Your tarot card for 2023 is...Temperance (shhhh. I can hear you groaning) This is about balance, meditation, and being "mutable", or knowing when to change with the times. The deity for you is Indian - Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara (who you might know as  Kuan Yin). He is concerned with compassion and is very aggrieved at wickedness among humans and protects against shipwreck, fire, assassins, robbers, and wild beasts. This card is #14 in the Tarot, which reduces to 5 the number of disruption, change and movement.  Strive to be more adaptable and compassionate to others in the coming year.

SAGITTARIUS - Mercury retrograde will happen in your 2nd house of earned income, giving you a chance to focus on saving and re-thinking some of your financial commitments. What is valuable to you will shift under this influence. Venus is going to shift from sensual and secure to taking relationships public.

Your tarot card for 2023 is...The 7 of Cups. The message is to make a choice, and do so quickly.  The card shows a man with 7 choices: beauty, mystery, knowledge, glory, power, fame and wealth.  This is a great card, but there is a sense of pressure. You have options (more than you realize), but you do have to make hard choices. The myth associated with this card is Aladdin, with whom we are all familiar. Be cautious of daydreaming, fantasy, wishful thinking and procrastination. (Wow This card nails Sagittarius!)

CAPRICORN - Mercury retrograde will happen in your 1st house of self, and you are invited to examine and reassess who you are in the world and how you express yourself on your path.  Venus is also in your sign but is moving out this week. So the things you value and your personal sense of self can now go out and make money by being you!

Your tarot card for 2023 is...the King of Swords. This is a very authoritative card which I think matches up nicely with your Mercury message. Own your own power and authority.  Actually stand up for yourself. It seems to others that Caps don't need this message, but in truth, Caps sometimes are avoidant when it comes to confrontation. Disagreements are seen as draining and a waste of time that could be used conquering something. The myth for this card is The Griffin (Persian).  There is great intelligence here, as well as fairness, patience and perseverance

AQUARIUS - Mercury retrograde will happen in your 12th house of isolation and shadows. Your psychic abilities may get a boost during this time. You are going to be treading in the territory of secrets and karma, and it is hard to describe as it will be very personal and private to you. This will be a spiritual journey.  Venus is going to shift from those same shadowy corners into your sense of self and ego.  Things discovered in the 12th will change who you are in the world. It may be more subtle than dramatic, but it depends on your chart.

Your tarot card for 2023 is...The 9 of Swords. Bitch, get some sleep. You have too much anxiety and worry, and some of it is unfounded. Understandable, but unfounded. What are you obsessing about? What are you scared of?  The harsher message of this card is also "you made your bed, now lie in it". So be careful what you are making your "bed" with.  The card from the deck has the Greek myth of Oedipus (ew, I know. But stay tuned...). The Oracle at Delphi warned the King that his son would kill him out of jealousy. But instead of raising his son with love and kindness, he let his fear and paranoia take over and was an asshole to him, thus sealing his fate. I am an Aquarius and I know many of you have had a rough year or two like I have. When I started with 12Listen almost 7 years ago, my motto was "love over fear".  That is the message I think we have to embrace here: Love over Fear! And also, get a better sleep routine!

PISCES - Mercury retrograde will happen in your 11th house of hopes and dreams and who helps you achieve them.  Running into old friends, or misunderstandings with friends are possible. And this is a good time to give some thought to what your dreams really are and if they line up with your current values.  Speaking of values, Venus is going to shift from the friend zone to the alone zone.  You may experience a break up, but a more  likely scenario is you withdrawing to intentionally be by yourself. Beware of escapist activities like binge drinking.

Your tarot card for 2023 is...The King of Wands. This card reeks of alpha male authority, machismo, intensity, and also some resentfulness of the burden of duty.  He is confrontational and ready to start some shit. The card from the deck features the East Asian myth of the Phoenix. He is noble and loyal and overall a much better version of a male in power. He is strong but also resilient - he is reborn and rises from the ashes. In Chinese mythology, the Phoenix is "an immortal bird whose rare appearance is said to be an omen foretelling harmony at the ascent to the throne of a new emperor." So obviously the message here is about power...YOUR power. Wield it well and be more like the Phoenix than the traditional King of Wands (cuz he's a dick)

Nerdy Numbers, Longest Night and New Moon bookends - BitchScopes for December 19-26

As I write this it is December 18th.  But as per my usual dufus-ness, I almost prepared Scopes from December 19th through January 2nd. And I was wondering how in the world next week was already the end of the year! Well it's 2 weeks away, still SO close but first we have Christmas, if you celebrate that. But for us astro nerds, what’s more interesting is the Winter Solstice on the 21st and the New moon in Capricorn on the 23rd

We have a podcast episode about the solstice up (or going up very shortly) so check out BitchStory on Apple or Spotify for all kinds of nerdy education about this winter holiday season.

The solstice is the longest night of the year, the peak of winter’s coldness. When we emerge on December 22nd (ish) we welcome back the Sun as the days slowly get a little bit longer. You might notice the potential play on words with welcoming the Sun and welcoming “the Son” (of God) and the timing of Christmas. Interesting eh? For real, check out the podcast episode. But basically the Romans incorporated many of the Pagan traditions into newly formed Christian traditions in order to roll those people up into the Roman Kingdom rulership. So almost all the Christian traditions, rites, and holidays have roots in the Pagan deity worship and their traditions.

Shortly after the solstice, which also marks to Sun’s ingress into Capricorn, we have a Capricorn new moon. This moon is at 1° of Capricorn, so there’s all kinds of fresh new beginnings possible as we wrap up 2022 and head into ‘23. But, nerd alert! There’s more! We started 2022 with a new moon in Capricorn. On January 2nd, we had a 12° new moon. Let’s get nerdy about the numbers:

12 is a number of awakening, growth, cycle completion, and the pause before the changes happen. In our everyday life, there are 12’s everywhere: 12 months, 12 hours in the day, 12 hours in the night, 12 days of Christmas, 12 disciples, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 colors on the standard color wheel, 12 people have walked on the moon, 12 jurors on a trial, 12 knights in King Arthur’s court, and many other examples. 12 represents a graduation of sorts from the physical to the spiritual. 1is the number of manifestation, 2 is the number of faith and balance and relationships. You get the idea.

This new moon is at 1°, and 1 correlates to freedom, independence, leadership. It’s also interesting to note that Jupiter moves into Aries this week, where it will be for most of next year. Jupiter has a way of coloring and giving a theme to the year, and in this case, Aries echos all of those number 1 qualities. (Jupiter in Pisces had that 12 energy from the 12th house!)

Capricorn, like Aries, is ambitious and goal oriented. Aries tends to be a little more impulsive and sprint-y, where Cap is more of a marathon and long term goal energy.

On the same day as the New Moon, Chiron goes direct in…Aries! So there is a lot of healing that can happen under this lunation. What are your wounds and how can they, or have they, informed your feeling of purpose in the world? I have said many times that our greatest weakness is also our greatest superpower. Give that some thought and see what comes up for you.

Set an intention for finding and connecting with your current purpose in life (your purpose can change many times!). What new skills do you want to attain? What changes to your business would you like to make? Even if you don’t work, own a business, or have any desire to acquire new skills, you can use this new moon to set intentions for personal or spiritual goals for the next year.

In other news for this week, Venus and Mars are still not 100% on the same page, so relationships may still feel slightly off. Mars is still retrograde and doing some healing of the past. Venus is getting antsy waiting for his ass to come out of his little man cave.

Mercury offers a mood lift as he is buzzing around shaking hands and rubbing elbows before he goes retrograde starting next week.

2 interesting degree aspects this week involving the asteroid Chaos. Chaos is retrograde has has been in Cancer. This week he backs into Gemini and stirs up a little shit. He, at 29° Gemini, will square Jupiter at 29° Pisces, and oppose the sun Sun in the last degree of Sagittarius. As I have mentioned many times, 29° is a real bajiggity energy, and since we are talking about Chaos, there is both a burning need to create, and one to fuck things up a bit. Gemini and Sagittarius are the student and the teacher/philosopher so this aspect could give you some kind of intellectual breakthrough if you wanted to harness it.

This week’s scopes will focus on the new moon where it hits each sign’s chart, and I’m pulling a card to indicate “your Christmas wish”.

Happy whatever! I love all you magical bitches!

ARIES - The moon hits your 10th house of career and public image. What begins around this time is going to move you forward a great deal on your path. You might be recognized for some accomplishment in the coming few days. This is a benchmark for a new beginning of some kind in who you are to the world at large. The card I picked from the “Love your Inner Goddess” deck (by Alana Fairchild) is “Mermaid Soul”. This speaks to your magical qualities and feminine freedom. You crave interesting things and are easily bored so you need to magic you can find in life. Live your life according to what fills your soul!

TAURUS - The moon hits your 9th house of experience and adventure. A new chapter of your journey (maybe literally) might be starting. Your beliefs and worldview may undergo a significant shift. Reconnect with hopes and dreams and your true aspirations. The card I picked from the “Love your Inner Goddess” deck (by Alana Fairchild) is “Daughter of the Sacred Heart”. You are an infinite being and as such, there are no mistakes or misses in life. There are only experiences and growth. You are loved unconditionally regardless of what paths you’ve taken or how you may have “screwed up”. You are a child of the Divine and you are loved and protected!

GEMINI - The moon hits your 8th house of (kinky) secrets and other people’s money (I love the 8th house and I think I change what I call it every week. heehee.) This house is what you gain from other people, and also what you carry for other people to some degree. This moon might give you access to something you haven’t been able to get to before. This is a deep house and the meaning of this new moon here will also be deep. This is also a place of control and power (Pluto). and transformation. Perhaps there’s a “rising from the ashes” coming for you. The card I picked from the “Love your Inner Goddess” deck (by Alana Fairchild) is “Angel of Truth”. This is a great cue to take stock of your life and see what is true for you, what have you outgrown, and what just feels absolutely bullshit to you. The 8th house loves the deeper truth, so I love the way this card plays with that.

CANCER - The moon hits your 7th house of relationships. So you could start a new relationship, a new job, get a new contract, or something of that nature. The card I picked from the “Love your Inner Goddess” deck (by Alana Fairchild) is “Rockstar”. Have you ever had “imposter syndrome”? This would be a great time to work that out. Set intentions with this moon to be given opportunities for letting your light shine its brightest. No more being held back or down. Bust out into your own spotlight!

LEO - The moon hits your 6th house of work, routine and habits. This plants a seed for a new way of life, new lifestyle, new habits etc. Seemingly small changes you make in your daily life can have a positive effect on your long term health and wellness. If there are situations at work that are icky, this new moon could be the turning point. The card I picked from the “Love your Inner Goddess” deck (by Alana Fairchild) is “Moon Child”. This card is a strong indicator that by pulling down the energy of this new moon in the darkness of this long night, you can really activate changes!

VIRGO - The moon hits your 5th house of play and romance. Heads up about pregnancy in this lunation. If you are trying, have fun! If you are not…back away slowly haha. This moon also gives a breath of life to any creative projects you have and offers a sense of freedom for the next chapter of your life. The card I picked from the “Love your Inner Goddess” deck (by Alana Fairchild) is “wild and free”. The quote on the card says “all good things are wild and free” which is from Thoreau. This card goes perfectly with the energy of freedom and creation.

LIBRA - The moon hits your 4th house of home and family. Because this is a new moon, I feel like you are turning a page and starting a new chapter. Old karma has possibly cleared, or can be healed with this moon. And a renewal can come as you emerge into the new year and beyond. The card I picked from the “Love your Inner Goddess” deck (by Alana Fairchild) is “Divine Bad Ass”. I feel like this card gives a nod and a high-five to the unhealthy familial patterns and chains that you’ve broken. You have that ability and energy that allows people to feel safe so that wounds can be healed. Going forward, give that energy to yourself, in spades! Stand up for what you are worth in every aspect of life.

SCORPIO - The moon hits your 3rd house of communication and learning. If you aren’t learning something new now, you will be soon. Your social life, and maybe your social media presence, can feel busier during this lunation period. You might be working on gathering inspiration for a book or something you will publish. This moon can help you a lot with that, especially as you generally feel more inspired in the quiet of the dark anyway. The card I picked from the “Love your Inner Goddess” deck (by Alana Fairchild) is “Free Spirit”. Give yourself permission to make “mistakes” by saying yes to more things, more opportunities, more people. Your spirit is a beautiful bird that many admire. Don’t leave it in the cage to protect it all the time…let if fly!

SAGITTARIUS - The moon hits your 2nd house of earned income. This is a good time to take stock of your income and debts, wishes and things you’ve saved up for. Going forward, you can look forward to higher earnings and more money that stays with you. The card I picked from the “Love your Inner Goddess” deck (by Alana Fairchild) is “be there for you”. You are a loyal and trustworthy friend who offers great advice. Going forward you’ll have more people that reciprocate that back to you, more of a feeling that someone “has your back”. But you also need to have your own back as much as you have everyone else’s.

CAPRICORN - The moon hits your 1st house of self and as we emerge from this dark moon, you may see yourself differently, in a “whole new light” so to speak. This moon really speaks to who you are and what your purpose is right now. The card I picked from the “Love your Inner Goddess” deck (by Alana Fairchild) is “Tribe of the Kindred”. Your tribe, your sacred connections with friends and loved ones, is going to be strengthened. The card actually references one of my all time favorite poems by ee cummings: “I carry your heart with me”, so you might check out the poem and see what it brings up for you. A deepening of the knowledge of who you are means you will attract in people and connections that are much more congruent with your spirit.

AQUARIUS - The moon hits your 12th house, which I think is a fascinating house. It rules the unconscious mind, past lives, isolation, unfinished business, karma, and pretty much everything that didn’t fit in the other 11 houses. I refer to it as the closet. Things you’ve put on hold can be activated by this new moon. Your dreams may be more vivid during this time. Everything will lead you to the next right launch point. The card I picked from the “Love your Inner Goddess” deck (by Alana Fairchild) is…well…perfect. It’s “On your own terms”...as if an Aquarius knows any other way. I think you are headed into a period where you feel much more in control of your path. This also means you will be your own savior, superhero and knight on a white horse. But you’ve always been that for yourself. You get to call the shots much more going forward!

PISCES - The moon hits your 11th house of hopes and dreams and who helps you find them. A new moon here can bring a new alliance, friendship, or even a new dream. Magical surprise gifts can show up after this kind of moon, and if that happens just say Thank You! The card I picked from the “Love your Inner Goddess” deck (by Alana Fairchild) is “Starborn”. Piscean people are always magical. As such you can sometimes feel like you don’t quite belong on earth. But you’re here for a reason and the Earth loves and needs your energy. Earth is a messy place but has so much beauty. Next time you look up from this rock to the night skies, recognize that you are made of the dust of ancient stars.

Teenager Energy - BitchScopes for the Week of December 12-19

Mercurial - /mÉ™rˈkyo͝orÄ“É™l/ adjective subject to sudden or unpredictable changes of mood or mind.
Synonyms: volatile capricious temperamental excitable fickle changeable

It’s going to be a Mercurial kind of week, y’all. Mercury is busy and enters its shadow phase this week. Mercury will retrograde in Capricorn from December 29 until January 19th. We will begin 2023 in Mercury retrograde AND 2024. This month’s retrograde will usher in Mercury retrograding in earth signs until 2024. So starting this week, pay attention to what is happening for you around career, ambition, and public life. Things may get bumpy with authority figures or your social media presence, and other things that put you in the public eye. Obviously Capricorns and the other earth signs could feel this the most, as well as the other Cardinal signs of Libra, Aries, and Cancer. But honestly, generally Mercury retrogrades touch everyone to some degree.

This week Mercury also forms awkward quincunxes with Mars and Venus, and Mars and Venus quincunx each other, so disagreements and harsh words are possible. Again, just watch yourself. Fun fact: As someone who tells people every single week to “be aware”, you might (not) be surprised to know that I always step in the planetary shit I am warning you guys about. *eyeroll*

Mercury trines Uranus this week, which portends “exciting news”, and with Mercury in Capricorn territory, it is likely related to those 10th house things already mentioned. “Exciting” is subject to interpretation and experience and this is a good reminder that Mercury (or any) retrograde is not “bad”. A lot of great things can and do happen under retrogrades and it doesn’t mean they won’t “stick” or last. So Mercury trine Uranus could be a great thing. Optimism, bitches! Optimism!

Mercury trines the North Node this week, which gives your words a certain kind of magic and magnetism to attract good things and fated people that can help you toward your goals.

The Sun conjuncts the Galactic Center (every year at this time), and this is a time when we can get powerful spiritual downloads that can provide inspiration about our path and purpose. The Sun also trines Eris, increasing feistyness, but squares Neptune, decreasing motivation.
Galactic Center as captured by Hubble

So this week is basically a teenager: moody, full of potential, but lazy and argumentative… Yes I would like a glass of wine, thanks.

ARIES - The Sun and Galactic Center are in your 9th house of ambitions, and Mercury and Venus are in Capricorn in your 10th house of career. You could really be preparing (whether you are conscious of it at this time or not) to launch something big in your life. Neptune is in your 12th house, which can be a very psychic placement for it. It is squaring your 9th house of big dreams so you may be resisting some adjustments to your dream board. Mars is retrograding in your 3rd house, so your communication might be a little hampered, or your dialogue is mostly internal. That’s OK. You will come out with whatever feels right when it is right. Make sure your professional emails remain professional this week and going forward through Mercury retrograde, and likewise, keep your words in check. With your 10th house energy squaring your 3rd house, you might insert foot in mouth.

TAURUS - The Sun and Galactic Center are in your 8th house of intimacy and secrets, and Mercury and Venus are in Capricorn in your 9th house of ambitions. This is a time when you can really take deeper knowledge of yourself and start to carve out a deeper or new path. Neptune is in your 11th house of friends squaring that deep 8th house, so your friends group may be changing because you are changing. Mars is retrograding in your 2nd house, so your money might be feeling tight. Use this time for budgeting, so that when Mars goes direct, it can shoot out of that bow like an arrow on target for making, having, and keeping more of your money. With your 9th house of big dreams squaring your 2nd house, make sure are not over extending yourself based on idealism alone.

GEMINI - The Sun and Galactic Center are in your 7th house of contracts, agreements and relationships, and Mercury and Venus are in Capricorn in your 8th house of intimacy and secrets. Your experiences in the present time are going to take you deeper into yourself and your relationships if you let them. Neptune in your 10th house can make things really hard to figure out or have the energy to do, and Mars is retrograding in your 1st house, so your sense of identity might be either really inspired or struggling to find its light. But when Mars goes direct, the energy will settle and you will feel like a new you in some ways. What motivates and drives you will shift and change next year, so don’t be surprised if what used to turn you on (both intellectually and physically), doesn’t really anymore. It’s just growth - nothing to self sabotage about.

CANCER - The Sun and Galactic Center are in your 6th house of routine, health and habit, and Mercury and Venus are in Capricorn in your 7th house of contractual relationships. Taking care of yourself is something you owe not only to yourself, but to those that depend on you. That means don’t burn the candle at both ends, delegate, and generally engage in self care more regularly. Neptune in the 9th house of ambitions squares the Sun and Galactic center, so you may be resisting some necessary work changes. Mars is retrograding in your 12th house, so your energy could be off, subdued, or just plain ol’ low. It will definitely get better after Mars goes direct. But this is your not so subtle hint by the Creator that makes all this magical shit work together to take advantage of this quiet time of inspiration, and make yourself a priority!

LEO - The Sun and Galactic Center are in your 5th house of creativity, and Mercury and Venus are in Capricorn in your 6th house of health and habits. That 5th house energy is your home and dominion, so you can really feel inspired and get some juicy downloads from the Sun at the Galactic Center on Sunday the 18th. I would encourage you to really tap in, meditate, or create on that day. Mars is retrograding in your 11th house, so your social life might be more low key than usual. That is not only ok, it gives you permission to really squeeze everything you can out of this creative energy without distraction.

VIRGO - The Sun and Galactic Center are in your 4th house of home and family, and Mercury and Venus are in Capricorn in your 5th house of creativity, fun, and romance. Are you introducing your significant other to your family this holiday season? Maybe your sweetie is on your nerves, and you can blame that Neptune Square Sun for that. It’ll pass. Holiday traditions may be shifting to include more children and even with a few hiccups, the holidays look pretty yummy and sweet. Your career may feel kinda meh right now, and that’s because Mars is retrograding there. It will start moving forward after the new year and you’ll be plenty busy and hair on fire to serve, as you are wont to do. Have some fun. “Make hay while the sun shines”, as they say.

LIBRA - The Sun and Galactic Center are in your 3rd house of communications, and Mercury and Venus are in Capricorn in your 4th house of family. Even though Mercury is slowing down, conversations with family, or information about family roots can be enlightening. Mars is retrograding in your 9th house of travel and experience and Neptune is transiting your 6th house, so you may be questioning if your current “job” (or routine) is really what you want. Your dreams and ambitions may not fit the way they used to, and that is likely due to some kind of family dynamic. Maybe they need your more or less than they used to so that changes the plan.

SCORPIO - The Sun and Galactic Center are in your 2nd house of money, and Mercury and Venus are in Capricorn in your 3rd house of information. With Mercury slowing down and preparing to retrograde in that 3rd house, and with the inspiration from the Galactic Center, you might be struck with inspiration and ideas for some kind of income stream. Use sunday the 18th to meditate around these issues. Mars is retrograding in your 8th house of debt and other people’s money, so that will figure into this equation too, especially once it goes direct in January.

SAGITTARIUS - The Sun and Galactic Center are in your 1st house of self. Happy Birthday! No wonder you are such a source of inspiration and deep thought…you get it from the galaxy! When Mercury retrogrades in your 2nd house of earned income, your income might slow down a little. Adding to this, your contractual relationships (that means marriage partners and bosses or employees) are being affected by Mars retrograde in your 7th house. That will get much better when Mars goes direct. Take time to clean up your bookkeeping so you can have a 2023 of maximum financial efficiency!

CAPRICORN - The Sun and Galactic Center are in your 12th house of isolation and old crap, and Mercury and Venus are in Capricorn in your 1st house of self. You are very likely going through some deep changes and healing from things in your past (even past lives). Also at this time, Mars is retrograding in your 6th house of work and routine. When Mars goes direct in January, things at work are going to pick up speed so take this opportunity to do the deeper self examination. You will be a bit of a brand new person in 2023, so make the most of this time so that you can emerge as a badass butterfly!

AQUARIUS - The Sun and Galactic Center are in your 11th house of audience, and Mercury and Venus are in Capricorn in your 12th house of old crap and karma. Friendships that ended badly could be on your mind. This is a chance for you to heal that shit and be done with it! Mars is retrograding in your 5th house, so your relationships with your kids, or other people’s kids (or your creative process) might be a little strained. It will improve in the new year. You have Neptune sort of clouding issues and energy levels in your income sector, and that will continue to bounce around a bit for another year or so. Keep your focus on what you feel most passionate about even if that has changed. Your vision will align you to your best life!

PISCES - The Sun and Galactic Center are in your 10th house of career, and Mercury and Venus are in Capricorn in your 11th house of audience. Your career should be pretty strong right now. Even with Mercury getting ready to retrograde in that 11th house, you are likely to just glean deeper knowledge about who you are trying to reach with your work. That Galactic Center situation on Sunday the 18th could give you some real juicy inspiration about your public life/career. I don’t have to tell you to meditate, as your life is a walking meditation - especially with your ruler and Jupiter in your 1st house. If family connections seem “off”, it will improve when Mars goes direct. I think I’ve said this to you before but it’s ok to focus on your career dreams right now! Everything has a season (cue the song)!

Bitchscopes for December 5-12 & Wonder Twins Gemini Full Moon

Alright, let me just jump into this. This week we have Mercury and Venus operating in tandem, like the Wonder Twins, not to mention a full moon in Gemini, sign of the twins!

Wonder Twins, form of a Capricorn!
Both Mercury and Venus move into Capricorn this week, and then both Mercury and Venus oppose the asteroid Chaos. Mercury and Venus will be at 0 degrees of Capricorn, and Chaos at 0 degrees of Cancer. 0 degrees of a sign is strong, undiluted energy of that sign. Keeping with our Wonder Twins them…let’s imagine Chaos at 0 degrees of Cancer is our villain (it isn’t a villain, just go with it for now). Chaos stands at the entrance to Cancer-land holding alllll of the feelings and intuition and memories in his grasp. “Mwuahahaha! I have all of the feelings! I will use them for my own Chaotic purposes! Mwuahahaha!”

However, Chaos has met his match with the 0 degree Capricorn Twins! No one can organize like a Cap under pressure! No one can keep a Capricorn Venus from what she desires! Our Capricorn heroes are uber focused, no nonsense and “get out of my way”.

All of this to say, our feelings and intuition may be hard to access during this brief tussle. What we want, and how we express what we want may come out very awkwardly, if at all. So be aware and don’t go blowing up your relationship over a meaningless fight. Utilize the massive creative and nurturing energy of Chaos in this placement to heal yourself of whatever is currently ailing you, especially things of an emotional nature.

The next thing that caught my attention is that Mars and the Sun both oppose Juno, the ruler of marriage. Squabbles could happen. And going back to that chaos situation above, they might even be likely. There may be fundamental incompatibility that becomes obvious. If your ideals or levels of commitment are not the same, you have an issue. Also possible - being attracted to someone who isn’t available, or feeling jealous and insecure. The good news is that Mars might make you determined to make something work, to work out the problems of a good relationship. So not all relationships will suffer.

Next up, Pallas is conjunct Lilith. Pallas is a brilliant mind, a strategic planner, a mastermind. Lilith is rebellious, take no shit - the original feminist. There is a vision, there is a rebellion, and there is a master plan to realize that vision. Furthermore, Venus quincunxes both Pallas and Lilith. Venus represents our values and these quincunxes can cause upset to the status quo. If I was planning a women's march or a protest, these would be great days to do it! (see transit list)

Our stalwart duo, Mercury and Venus both square Jupiter this week. It can be difficult to trust people this week. And we may have a hard time knowing our limits, either in play or in work. Socializing with our friends and co-workers looks great this week, but over indulging is something to watch for.

Last and certainly not least, we have a Full Moon in Gemini! This full moon is conjunct Mars, and Mars in retrograde doesn’t make it any calmer. This full moon can trigger sensitive areas for us and make us more reactive. Mars is our drives and when he is retrograde he will examine motivations, where we put our effort and if it is misplaced or is our energy being wasted. We can question ourselves and WTF we are doing. Furthermore, Mars’ energy is occulted/blocked by this full moon, making our true desires a little harder to access. Our feelings, not our drive to fulfill our actual needs, are going to be driving the bus. This is a recipe for acting out and not really understanding why… like starting a fight and not realizing it's not at all what you want to fight about but you’ve dug in your heels and won’t turn back now.

Also when Mars opposes the Sun, competitive energies arise. Egos get involved and so can hurt feelings. It’s important to be aware of your energy at work, and if your boss is being extra “whatever”, do what you can to avoid them. Don’t get into a drinking competition at the company Christmas party. There are all kinds of scenarios that are possible and most of them will end poorly if you are not operating in awareness.

Full moons are great for releasing things. If you have anger or resentment about something, or you’ve remembered something hurtful (Gemini keeps the receipts!), use this full moon to let it out. Write it down. Or have one of those one sided imaginary arguments while you shower. Yell and scream if it feels right. If you need to be able to do that, but have roommates or neighbors - drive out to an unpopulated area and put on whatever kind of loud music work for you and just rage it out in the car (not while driving. Driving is good for warming up. Some angry Adele singing is good.) If you yell at the imaginary not-present person until you cry, cry it the fuck out! If you’re a writer, write the scathing letter to your boss or partner or ex and say all the things you couldn’t say. Read it out loud. (And make sure you destroy that letter afterward!)   If you have been healing or hurting from a relationship this year and you’d like to move the fuck on and get unstuck, this is a good moon for that. Cleanse your emotional energy and make room for fresh, new, good stuff in the coming new year. Maybe even clean out a drawer or a closet for your future lover or partner. Donate your old stuff. Use your old partner’s abandoned underwear for your full moon ritual fire. You get the idea.

The full moon will always illuminate things. With the full moon in Gemini, information and ideas can show up for you. It will always be something you need. Write things down, because Gemini’s energy is fast-moving. And remember this week that while you are conscious and aware and trying to heal and not sabotage, they may not be at that same level of awareness and might start a petty argument or some other kind of shit or drink too much at their company Christmas party etc. etc. Be forgiving and compassionate where it is important. Have good boundaries where you need to. Try to stay calm. A good night’s sleep and a couple days time can do magic.

If you do start a feminist revolution this week, please email me the date and time.

Above all, try to have some fun, find peace, appreciate beauty, believe in magic. We are all the goddamn Wonder Twins!

ARIES - Your wonder twin powers fall in the 3rd house of communication. Expect information to show up within a couple weeks after this full moon. Your communication and values are lined up in your 10th house of career, and the Sun in Sagittarius offers a lot of optimism for your work life right now whether you are content or looking elsewhere. If your job feels like it doesn’t align with your spiritual values, or if your intuition is telling you something is off, I wouldn’t act on it just yet. That is possibly the squares of Mercury and Venus to Jupiter so I would wait until the dust settles from all this full moon and other activity this week when you can access truth and your real feelings.

TAURUS - The wonder twins grace your 2nd house of income, and you could receive news about a raise or a job offer after this full moon. The Sun in your 8th house could get some passive income, loans, or investments percolating and have you feeling optimistic. But keep your wits about you and watch out for over spending or over extending yourself. Mercury and Venus in Cap are in your 9th house of travel and experiences, squaring Jupiter in your house of friends, hopes and dreams, and groups. If you’ve got some travel plans, your friend(s) may flake out (and Mercury is retrograding in Cap at the end of December so keep that in mind), so maybe you’re better off adjusting those plans or having a plan B.

GEMINI - The wonder twins full moon hits your 1st house of course, and this can light up your path for you and show you your next steps. Jupiter is in your 10th house and it can offer some foundational wisdom on how to build whatever it is you’re trying to build. Mercury and Venus in Capricorn can do the same, as well as bringing in ideas and people to add to that foundational structure. The sun is in your partnership house, bringing focus and hopefully warmth there. However, the full moon may agitate your partner and they may be a shit starter. It will pass, so keep your wits about you and keep your sharp tongue in check until the dust settles!

CANCER - The wonder twins moon hits your weird 12th house. Weird isn’t always bad, but it can be eerie, other worldly, unseen…its like the energetic stuff that gets swept under the rug. The full moon might shine a flashlight into those untidy corners. Your sleep and your dreams may be screwy. Any intuitive hits you get about your body or your health at this time are things you should explore. New relationships can get serious with Venus in Capricorn in your 7th house. Communication can be a bit more no-nonsense in your marriage or relationship now as well.

LEO - The wonder twins moon hits your 11th house of friends, dreams, and people who help us achieve those dreams. This full moon can light up and draw into your life people who can help you further your goals and find your audience. The sun in Sagittarius is in your 5th house of creativity and Mercury and Venus in Capricorn will give you the right head for making great strides toward your vision. Don’t be alarmed if there are spats between you and your friends during this full moon energy. But there is also clarity around these issues, so you’ll know if you need to do something with the information that comes up and out.

VIRGO - The wonder twins moon lights up your 10th house of career, which can bring attention to you. But because Mars is involved, I am thinking you’ll need to be aware of blowing up on someone. This could happen anywhere in your “public life”. You might loose your cool on social media, or at work, or in an email (Gemini!) Try to keep your shit together and not blow up, but if you do, all you can do is move ahead. Things might get emotional or pissy at home as well, because the Sagittarius sun is in your 4th house, opposing that moon and Mars. You do have great creative resources this week, so lean into that energy to get done whatever you need to get done and move past all the drama and dust. This too shall pass!

LIBRA - The wonder twins moon lands in your 9th house of ambitions, so you might get a glimpse of a future job or something along those lines. But the Sunis in the 3rd house of communication opposes that moon and Mars. Because Mars is involved, there could be some tension and it would likely be of a know-it-all nature. Mercury and Venus are in your 4th house of family, squaring your routines and work, so things just aren’t aligning with your personal life and people and your ambitions and career. But these things come to light for our benefit and it isn’t likely to be anything huge, just some agitation.

SCORPIO - The wonder twins moon hits your 8th house of secrets and intimacy. You might become aware of something in the light of this moon. With Mars involved, things could get heated. You might also become aware of a debt you owe or someone wants something paid back. Mercury and Venus in Capricorn will be in the 3rd house squaring your 5th house. This makes me think of an argument with a child or a creative block. Whatever comes up around the full moon, take it in stride and try not to overreact. When the dust settles, whatever it is will not be so jarring.

SAGITTARIUS - The wonder twins moon hits your 7th house of partnerships and is conjunct Mars. So an argument is possible. You could also meet someone in this full moon energy, and in this case, Mars would just be making things hot. Money is likely to be a conversation at home, and it may be a source of friction or tension. Make sure that you’re holding up your end of the agreements. This energy will pass and money will start flowing in with more ease in the coming months.

CAPRICORN - The wonder twins moon hits your 6th house of health and habits. You might start to see the benefits of things you’ve been working on, or something could come to your attention that you’ve missed. Mercury and Venus move into your first house, giving you extra charm and wit, so don’t be surprised if you get more attention than usual. The Sun in Sagittarius is in your 12th house, so as I’ve mentioned before, you may have the birthday doldrums. It will pass and you’ll be back on your game later this month.

AQUARIUS - The wonder twins moon hits your 5th house of creativity, play, romance, and offspring. So, if you were trying to get pregnant, you might find out now (and it could be twins!). Creative projects might also be finished or your work on them completed. Jupiter in Pisces is in your 2nd house, so you might be getting paid now for your work too! The Sun in Sagittarius is in your 11th house of friends, so this could be a great period for you socially, however, Mercury and Venus move into your 12th house, where things are a bit more introverted. Mercury will be there for a while, but Venus will move along and you can find more romantic prospects if you are looking.

PISCES - The wonder twins moon hits your 4th house of home and family. That is a Cancer ruled house, so feelings may come out under this moon. Jupiter is still in your sign, bestowing a good amount of luck and juju on you, which is likely to show up in your 10th house (where Sagittarius Sun is) or your 11th house of hopes, dreams, friends, associates, and audience. Things still look really good for your projects and prospects! You’re on Fiyah!!

Waiting in the Wings - BitchScopes for 11/28-12/4

Hey glittery souls! (I know you all know I love glitter. But I saw a poster this week that said “cat hair is my glitter” and I obviously had to get it. My soul is surely at least partially made of cat hair!) I simply cannot believe that we are entering the last month of the year! It seems like I just flipped my calendar over to October! June through September are just hot and super annoying where I live, and those months drag on endlessly. I seriously get seasonal affective disorder in the summer the way snowbound and PNW people get it in the winter. So I wish this time of year went a bit slower, but no one is taking my requests so…here we are.

December doesn’t have any hold-on-to-your-ass transits. We do have a mercury retrograde at the end of the month, but I hope we are all mostly at the point of feeling like that is just like an inconvenience…like starting your period while you’re on your Hawaiian vacation. Sometimes things get undone, but intellectually we know these are course corrections and will ultimately benefit us. It’ll be fine. Otherwise, in December there are some cool sign change-overs and direction motions happening. The Capricorn energy will come later in the month. But we get a warm up this week…

In addition to Neptune dropping in to confuse things, Saturn makes an appearance before the Sun
moves into his sign this month. This is like when a performer shows up in the wings backstage before they make their grand entrance. If you’ve ever watched any stand up comedy on Netflix, you have seen the comedians kinda wiggling around and getting hyped before they go out. That’s how I’m seeing Saturn this week. Is Saturn a comedian? Um, I would say indirectly…yes, sometimes. Capricorns can be some of the funniest people around. I think some people deal with darkness and heaviness with humor. They are able to transmute human weirdness and wickedness and depression into memes and jokes and brilliant observations. Many famous comedians have a Capricorn moon. Aaaanyway, herrrrrrrrrrrresssss Saturnnnnnnn!!

Monday Mars trine Saturn say work hard, be responsible, and Saturn will gift us something…though Saturn’s gifts don’t show up immediately, which is why I think he gets a bad rap. Also his affiliation with Kronos, who ate his children so they would not usurp his power. Saturn needs a good PR person to straighten this out. Kronos should specifically be about politics and government. Look at me inventing shit like an Aquarius…anyway…

Tuesday Mercury opposes Mars and sextiles Saturn, so there’s a competitive energy in the air, but we will have access to good judgement and communication. I inserted the word “access” because I have a hard time seeing all people as having good judgement or communication. We all have our charts which give us gifts and challenges. Why am I so Aquarian today as I write this?!?

Wednesday Venus opposes Mars, which creates tension and passion. Passion must be harnessed properly or it becomes angry, so be aware of your reactions to things.

Thursday is a crap shoot. Venus sextiles Saturn, encouraging commitment and serious long-term commitments, but Neptune shows up and squares Mercury, making everything confusing.

Friday is almost a no pants day. But Mercury does trine Eris, which can give a rebellious attitude. But its Friday, so come 5 oclock, bitch it up however you like. You will find your cats will be supportive of anything you say.

The weekend is chock full of reasons to not look at your dating profile for a few days and maybe don’t go on any first dates. Neptune goes direct and squares Venus. Dishonesty and confusion abound. It will take Neptune some time to reach full speed ahead, but when he does, we will be taking off our rose colored glasses that we may have been wearing since the end of June. Hmmm, maybe some good will happen with abortion rights during the direct motion, because Roe was overturned on June 24th, so it got rolled up into Neptune’s la-la land. Neptune rules reproductive organs in astrology, and that initial supreme court leak happened during the Mercury shadow. Mercury had just entered Gemini for that shadow period leading into the retrograde, and Gemini tends to portend things happening twice or having to do something over. So revisions seem inevitable. Mercury will retrograde again this December in Capricorn, sign of Government… so….

Also during the weekend, the Sun makes a quincunx with the North Node and trines Chiron, indicating some healing of your individual self or your process of individuating from something or someone else.

Ok here’s your individual scopes for the week, ladies and gents …

ARIES - Saturn will be activating some energy in your 11th house of hopes and dreams, and the Sun and Mercury provide great energy to that from the 9th house of optimism and expansion. With Neptune going direct, energy and information you gained, probably subconsciously, during its retrograde can become reality. Mars in Gemini gives you the mental and intellectual power needed to get the practical facts in hand. All of this points to an over all week that is great for making your damn dreams come true! You’ve got all the facets covered: commitment, belief, practicality, smarts and opportunity. So even if you aren’t working on birthing anything specifically, I would highly recommend you do some manifesting around your long term dreams!

TAURUS - You’ve got Saturn activating your career house and the Sun and Mercury giving great energy around financing something. With Neptune going direct in your 11th house, the right people are going to show up soon to help you make whatever this is happen. Mars in Gemini is giving you the intellectual power to make that money, baby. All things seem to point to career success. Think about what you were manifesting (consciously or unconsciously) during last week’s new moon, because whatever that was is gaining traction under this week’s energy! You have permission to be excited.

GEMINI - Saturn has activated your 9th house of travel and expansion. This house also governs legal matters. It can be a weird place for Saturn, who is very serious, because the ruler of the 9th, Sagittarius, is jolly and optimistic and fun. Maybe you are visiting someone or someone is coming a long distance to see you. Your 7th house of partnerships is getting strong juju from the Sun and Mercury. So if there’s a long distance romance happening, it looks good from here. Neptune stationing direct will give a boost to your career, and Mars in your sign is giving you a personal pep talk and energetic power-up.

CANCER - Your unconscious mind is going to deliver some useful information to your conscious mind over the next few weeks. This isn’t even something you will probably register, because it will just occur to you as an idea or a memory or something that seems mundane. But it will be coming from someplace deep and mystical. This will probably nudge you to make some kind of changes in the way you work. Your work life has been on the radar for months. This is the 6th house, so it is about how you work, what your environment is like, and your routines. This could also pertain to a health matter because the 6th also rules that. So when you feel inspired to do something related to your health habits, follow that.

LEO - Well, this week sounds like same song that I’ve been singing to you for awhile. Somethin’ spicy is happening in your love life! Saturn is activating your 7th house of partnerships, the Sun is beaming into your 5th house of romance, and Pisces will be doing direct in your 8th house of intimacy. If you are single…Idanno. You might wanna shave your legs. Not right now. You can be hairy and relaxed for a bit. But when Mars goes direct in January, and then moves into other signs, a friendship could turn into something more! Alternately, I feel that intuitively this could be something related to your kid or a creative project, and some money received (like a grant or something).

VIRGO - Your career seems to be on a strong path, and that will continue. You may even get some acknowledgment this week from higher-ups or the public. There appears to be some home projects on the menu as well - you’re probably preparing your home for the holidays, and it looks like you might be hosting. Plan your menu ahead as well, which you’ve probably already had the nudge to do since Saturn has activated your 6th house. Because Saturn is in your home base 6th house, going the traditional route is perhaps your best bet for holiday everything.

LIBRA - Romance looks good for you this week, and may include some short distance travel. But Mars in Gemini is in your 9th house, drumming up ideas and desires for your next big vacation. This travel itch will be around for awhile. Truthfully, you could scratch it anytime, but when Mars goes direct in January, you might find better deals and opportunities. As Neptune moves direct in your 6th house, answers to health issues could finally be provided. That info likely won’t show up immediately or this week, but be on the lookout over the next several weeks, and maybe schedule tests in the new year.

SCORPIO - The view from here looks like you snuggled up at home with your family. If you have kids, they may be showing back up, as Neptune goes direct in your 5th house. That makes sense since kids will be soon returning home for school breaks. Because Mars is retrograde in your 8th house, be careful of going “apeshit” (as my mom says) with credit card debt when you shop for Christmas. The Sun is giving good juju to your house of income, so set a budget for yourself.

SAGITTARIUS - Well it is your birthday season, so of course the Sun is in your 1st house, giving you the spotlight. Saturn has activated your 3rd house of short distance travel and communication, so maybe some short trips for your birthday are on the docket. Your home and relationship houses have both had retrograde action for awhile. Neptune is going direct in your 4th house, so if you’ve had plumbing issues, you have a good chance of getting that fixed now. (Its hard to find good help!). Mars has been retrograde in your 7th house, so if, on the off chance your sex life has been lackluster, that will change in January. Until then enjoy the mental stimulation, which is a pretty big deal for you as well.

CAPRICORN - The pre-birthday blues might be taking hold of you as the Sun and Mercury are transiting your 12th house. But little by little, the energies are going to tickle you out of your gloom. Neptune will be going direct in your 3rd house, so communication in general could improve, and if you have siblings, communication there can see a boost over the next few weeks too. Mars is retrograde in your 6th house, so your health or energy levels may be meh, but that will improve either around or shortly after your birthday. But the fun news (for a Cap) is that Saturn, your ruler, is activating your 2nd house of income this week. Money is sexy when you’re a Cap, so enjoy it.

AQUARIUS - With Saturn in your sign and your 1st house of self, things you’ve been working on (the things that are really a part of who you are, like your branding) are taking shape. The Sun is currently in your 11th house (which is your home base) of hope and dreams and the people who help you achieve them. Neptune has been retrograding in your 2nd house, making budgeting difficult maybe due to fluctuating income or something like that. That will be improving with Neptune direct so you can have a much clearer picture of what you’re dealing with. Mars in Gemini, though retrograde, is tickling your 5th house due to some transits right now. Enjoy time with your lover, your kids, or your paintbrush…whatever applies.

PISCES - Your watery realm is highlighted more than usual this week. Saturn is in your 12th house (your home base), bringing structure and solidity to the feelings and dreams and mystical aspects of your life. And this week, your ruling planet, Neptune, goes direct in your 1st house of self. Things will start to crystalize into, dare I say…a plan…over the coming weeks. Don’t stress if your family or home life is feeling off with Mars retrograding there. It will feel more secure in January. It is Ok to focus on yourself and your career for the time being. The Sun is beaming into your 10th house of career and public life right now, so you should be feeling the love in this area of your life.
