Eclipse and Election Week 11/7 - and a Reminder that We really ARE going to be OK!

Before I dive in, a little preface:

I tend to take for granted that clients, readers, and people in general are not always viewing things the way I am. And I sometimes forget to remind ya’ll…it’s going to be ok! I am very comforted by the patterns in astrology, and in humanity, frankly. Whatever difficulties you are going through personally, you’re going to get through it! And on the other side of it, coming at an annoyingly slow pace, is a version of you that is thriving. Trust me, I have been in the position of being on my knees or on my face just begging the Universe for a break, for a gift. It felt eternal when I was down there.  I have been in that position several times in my life, and so have you. And look, we are up! We are reading this! We are doing the work! There are people in this community and tribe who are still down. They can’t find the focus or the motivation to read this, do the work, or even get out of bed. That is part of being human. Do what you can for the people who are really struggling and offer them some love, some comfort, some hope.

Globally, and as a nation (the USA), we are a shit show. But I sometimes forget when I am having an idealist Aquarian rant about what should be, what could be, and how much bullshit the current everything is, to remind you guys that fear is not necessary here. As a country we have been through some weird shit before. Its funny to me how fashion trends and political and social trends tend to follow each other. What’s in right now in fashion is sort of a mash up of 1960-1980. And that’s where we are in our social cycles as well. Patterns repeating in the financial sector, in government, etc. Cycles…be comforted by them!

You know those dumb desk adornments our dads had in the 70’s…I had to look up what they are called: Newton’s Cradle, or…the executive ball clicker. Hahaha. Anyway, it embodies a principle of physics that applies to societal changes and government swings from the right to the left. If you pull one ball out from one side and drop it, all the balls swing in the opposite direction, and then back. Eventually they come to rest in the middle.  That’s what will happen politically and socially. Balls are swingin’ real hard right now -  patriarchy pun intended!  Everything is very polarized. But the nature of the universe is that is wants balance and stasis. We will get there. And then it will swing hard the other way again. and on and on. You can only do what you can to affect change that is important to you. Then you have to allow yourself peace and hope...and share that with others!

As the outer planets move out of Capricorn and into Aquarius we WILL see a shift from those patriarchal ideas to something more socialist and humanitarian.  And If the word socialist triggers you, please understand we already have many socialist structures in place: Social Security, fire departments, police departments, libraries, schools…and much more. Socialist does not equal communist. Please tell a friend! And we will thrive in a more humanitarian focused world for a bit. So don’t worry too deeply. Do the work inside yourself. Once you do that, you can do work in the community, and that grows and grows and that’s how individuals change the world. All that’s required is AWARENESS!

So don’t be afraid. Just be informed!

Alright on that note:  buckle up, bitches, because we are in for a bumpy ride this week. Obviously we have the Election Day Eclipse so that’s huge. But you can also tell when a period of time is really significant by how many aspects the Sun makes to other planets; some weeks there are no sun aspects, but this week there are several, as well as some challenges between personal planets. Mars, Venus and Mercury are all very active, and Neptune is making things confusing.

Tuesday is election day AND a full moon AND a lunar eclipse. We will not have another total lunar eclipse like this one until 2025. AND Mars is retrograde in the sign of communication. To get the whole scoop on the eclipse or Mars retro, read the last couple BitchScopes.

This is a keep your pants on kind of week, with a confusing or challenging aspect almost every day. So let’s go through it.

Monday, get grounded, get centered, take care of yourself as much as possible. There’s nothing spinning out of control, until…

Tuesday.
Vote. Make sure your ballot is tracked and counted. And then sit back and set intentions for calm, peace, and miracles. I say miracles are needed because it is almost guaranteed one side is going to go off in the wake of this election. The Sun conjuncts Mercury in Scorpio, which is a quest for the truth. Good luck finding it, because Mercury opposes Uranus, so it will be chaotic and probably a bit of a shit show. Everyone will be claiming to know the outcome before anyone really does.

Wednesday the Sun opposes Uranus, which is just general unpredictable chaos, which is typical after most elections.

Thursday Mercury squares Saturn, which makes for difficulty in getting information conveyed and understood. Venus (what we valued) trines Neptune, which makes things cloudy and declarations of victory are going to be premature.

Friday the Sun square Saturn, and Venus makes quincunxes with both Mars and Eris. When Mars and Venus are in hard aspects, people are not likely to be getting along. And remember, Mars is retrograde in Gemini, making getting to the facts really difficult.

Saturday we are just tired and confused with Mercury trine Neptune. Just sleep, meditate or do something artistic.

Sunday we get our values (Venus) sextiling Pluto (shit stirring transformation)

Monday we are likely to still be figuring out what the final outcome is with Mercury sextile Pluto and Sun trine Neptune.

To keep things a little lighter, I’m pulling a card for each sign from my new Cat tarot deck. Meow. We gotta find play where we can right now! I’ll include photos of these cards on the blog.

ARIES - Your card for this week is the King of Swords. See? This week comes out swinging! This card
is associated with the sign of Aquarius and is mentally sharp and not at all timid. Be aware of things this week like direct eye contact - both directed toward you and coming from you. This is a card of authority. Stand in your own authority. When we are secure, we are not engaging in petty battles. The sign of Aquarius is aloof and seems disconnected. This card tells us that we should not underestimate anyone, and beware to anyone who is foolish enough to underestimate you. The full moon eclipse happens on your money axis, so be level headed and secure about what is yours and what you owe to or carry for others.

TAURUS - Your card is the 10 of wands, reversed. This speaks to releasing burdens or responsibility,
but be careful not to blow off things that are actually yours to carry (aka being a slacker). This card is associated with Leo energy. With great power comes great responsibility. heavy is the head that wears the crown. Success has a price. The cost of hard work that leads to success is that you’re a tired ass bitch at the end of it! But don’t become complacent, even if you are resting. The King of the jungle rests, butis always aware. In any case, this release of burden is well earned. This eclipse falls on your me vs. we relationship axis. You might be feeling the need to call your energy back from a relationship that takes more than it gives.

GEMINI - Your card is the 6 of coins/pentacles, which speaks to being a good citizen. Interestingly, the eclipse also falls on your work and service axis (the 6 & 12 houses). With Mars retrograde in your 1st house of self right now, you may be pondering the balance of giving and receiving in your life, or this may come up in the next couple of weeks. This card is associated with Capricorn energy, which is
nothing if not stable, responsible, and independent. Capricorn doesn’t answer to authority other than its own very often. Regardless of how this week goes or what the outcome is, the cure for whatever is making you bitter about your responsibilities is very likely found in charity.

CANCER - Your card is the 3 of Cups, reversed, which isn’t a super happy card. Instead of feeling supported, you feel the opposite, perhaps even betrayed. This doesn’t mean your spouse or partner is going to betray you (though you may feel a bit betrayed by a child). Actually, with the eclipse falling in your 11th house of friends, associates, hopes

& dreams, this is more likely to come from a friend group, a club or someplace where you just don’t feel you belong anymore (This could totally be a political party as well!) The breaking off may come from you or from them, but either way, this will be better for you. This card is also associated with Capricorn energy, which means you’ll be fine on your own or independently. You deserve to be recognized for your efforts, and a new tribe is likely to form around you, rather than you having to find one.

LEO - Your card is the Ace of Coins/Pentacles, reversed. This indicates that there’s a missed opportunity, probably related to money. The eclipse falls on your 4/10 axis, which pertains to home and
career, private life and public life. So maybe you work extra hours but miss out on some family time, or you don’t get the raise you were counting on for the holidays. This is your sign to conserve money and spend carefully for the next several weeks. I pulled a 2nd card for you, which is the Page of Cups. This card is associated with the sign of Cancer and is telling you to listen to your intuition, and because it is Cancer-esque, that makes me think that erring on the side of family is probably the correct choice. I always come back to the fact that what is meant for you will find you. So just because this opportunity may not have worked out, doesn’t mean everything is fucked. It means something more aligned with you is on the way!

VIRGO - Your card is the Hermit, reversed! Either you are not taking enough time to introspect, being
super busy and social in order to avoid confronting issues, or you are being too withdrawn. The eclipse falls on your 3/9 axis of learning and wisdom. A Full moon in your 9th house will inevitably out the truth and expose information that was previously unavailable to you. So whether you’re being a recluse, or you haven’t been alone for more than 10 minutes in 6 months, or whatever the case is, it will become obvious to you after this eclipse, and you’ll know where you need to let go.

LIBRA - Your card is the 8 of Coins/Pentacles, which is about working hard and mastery of a skill. The eclipse falls in your 8th house of debt and other people’s money, so it seems you are putting in a lot of effort to improve things financially. Because this is a lunar eclipse, I feel your hard work will be paying off for a while to come. Keep doing what you’re doing. This card, like several others I’ve pulled for these scopes, is associated with Capricorn. This is about responsibility, and even burden, but also
ambition and success. Another card did fall out of the deck with this pull, and it was the 6 of Wands, reversed. This cards indicates that you accept your successes with humility and without the need for praise or attention. Sometimes this comes after a setback where your confidence has taken a hit. This may be the reason you keep your victories private, and that’s probably wise.

SCORPIO - Your card is the Justice card, reversed. This is about accepting responsibility. If you tend to deflect blame onto others, you’ll know that this is rebuking you. But you also might be over critical of yourself. The eclipse is in your 7th house of relationships - I just peeked back at last week’s eclipse scopes to remind
myself what the scoop was and man, does it match up with this one! The injustice here might not just be that you have done something morally askew, but that someone is possibly not doing you right. Remember the 7th house pertains to employment relationships as well as personal. I pulled a 2nd card for you and it is the 7 of swords, reversed. This is one of those cards which is generally more positive when reversed, and can indicate imposter syndrome, or some kind of lie you tell yourself. Whatever the case, what isn’t fair now, will always be corrected later.

SAGITTARIUS - Well happy almost birthday to you! You get the 9 of Cups card, and it's a sweet one. This card is often called “the wish card”, because it represents winning and getting what you want.
Because the eclipse falls in your 6th house, you might be getting a raise, a better job, or a sweeter office. This card is associated with the sign of Pisces, which is fitting because the other end of the 6th house axis is the 12th house and the home of Pisces & Neptune. Listen to your intuition, your dreams, and be generous with others. Additionally, you win the shortest horoscope of the week prize, because not much else needs to be said here! Enjoy!

CAPRICORN - I pulled the Queen of Coins/Pentacles for you. This card is
associated with Taurus energy and shows the Queen resting comfortably on her lovely throne (or in the case of this deck, her fancy cat bed). This card is rich with fertility symbolism. Appropriately, the eclipse happens in your 5th house of children, but also creativity, play, and romance. Taurus generally represents a more conservative approach to things, which suits you nicely. It is time for you to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Lounge in the equivalent of your cat bed and enjoy the stability that hard work brings. Yep, that’s it.

AQUARIUS - Your card is the Fool card. This card is about new beginnings, innocence, spontaneity. Being ruled by Uranus, you are no stranger to chaos, and probably thrive in measured amounts of it in
order to feel creative. The fool card embodies the freedom of letting go and letting the chips fall, which would send other signs into a tailspin. The eclipse is in your 4th house indicating a period of finding security (Taurus) with what’s at home. However, what is opposite your 4th house is the 10th house of public life and career success. Let your creativity lead the way on your next venture.

PISCES - Your card is the Knight of Swords. Knights have a tendency to charge ahead, and this one is competitive. You will stop at nothing to achieve your
dreams and goals, especially ones of an intellectual nature. Make sure you are thinking things through, especially in the wake of this eclipse in your 3rd house. Some piece of information is likely to be illuminated that will prompt you to want to act…to jump on your horse and charge ahead courageously, but without paying attention to the details. Touch base with some earth energy (Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn) to check yourself.

Chaos, Panic, and Disorder…right after this nap - BitchScopes for the week of October 31st and the Lunar Eclipse in Taurus

Whew. That's the longest blog title I've ever had! I truly do need a nap, so I'll cut to the chase - Whatever is coming up for you from the past, get ready to scrub it off and heal. It is time to face discomfort that might be trying to get your attention so that you can move beyond where you are. Sometimes when we read horoscopes, particularly ones that include dramatic events like eclipses, our mind thinks of absolutes: losing jobs, breaking ups, bankruptcy. Those kinds of extremes are unusual. In my personal experience since I’ve been an aware person, it is much more like an onion. I’m not a botanist so I’m 1000% sure this isn’t how actual onions work, but for human onions, the center of the onion keeps growing and expanding upward, causing the outer layers to start to peel back. Those outer layers are blocking the sunshine of our spirit and they’re basically just in the way. Every change inducing event peels those outer, old layers back a little more, or peels one off all the way. An extreme event would be like if you’re prepping an onion for chopping and you peel back several layers at once. So these eclipses do definitely help us shed those no-longer-needed layers faster than normal, and while it usually isn’t a chopping type situation (except for the tears perhaps), it can be unsettling depending on your personal onion situation.

Anyway, this is a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus. A full moon lunar eclipse is like a full moon on steroids, and we know that full moons can be whackadoo. Taurus is the sign of comfort, stability, material possessions, luxury, sensuality, love and money. So emotional instability and insecurity is likely (warn your friends who work in emergency services, haha…no…seriously.) Relationships that feel shaky now are likely to undergo some real come-to-Jesus moments, and solid relationships will likely feel strengthened when the dust settles.

Full moons have a way of outing information and shining a light on secrets. This moon is opposite Uranus, which will create some chaos and unexpected jolts. But the real “oh shit” moment is that this eclipse happens ON election day. I really hope we don’t have any

January 6th type bullshit, but there could be some major upsets. I know I’m hoping for a couple upsets in my state, but I know no matter what, 50% of us are going to be unhappy. Taurus is a conservative sign, but also represents a digging in of heels. So I wouldn’t begin to try to predict how this might play out.
This is a total lunar eclipse, also called a "blood moon" because the Earth passes between the sun and moon and casts a reddish shadow on the moon.  We won't have another total lunar eclipse until 2025 (there are eclipses every year, but not always total), so it bears repeating that we pay attention, and be grateful for the guidance/jump start/shove.  Ground yourself, rest, meditate, and tune in to your feelings and intuition

That happens on Tuesday, and I’m covering it in this week’s scopes so you can sort of prepare yourself, to the extent that is possible. I doubt anyone could accurately anticipate what will happen, but the fact that we know some shit’s about to go down gives us a leg up.

So let me backtrack and tell you about the week of Monday November 1st thru the 7th -

There’s a prominent relationship energy this week. Healing past wounds, crappy relationship habits, and self worth are all on the docket. It looks to me from the transits leading up to the eclipse that they are giving us a taste of what to expect. Words like “agitation”, “awkward”, “growth”, “misunderstood”, “adjustments” and “frustration” populate many of the transits. In fact there is not a lot of career or ambition type energy at all, and that makes sense because Mars is officially retrograde now. All our drives are going to feel a bit of a downshift. I usually feel things in advance, even when I am not at all aware of them, or have consciously forgotten. As I write this (Sat 10/29 and Sun 10/30) Mars is stationing retrograde and is either extremely slow or still. I feel completely drained, tired, sleepy, drugged, and achey. Is this a taste of Mars retrograde on my ascendant? FML. Let me know what you’re feeling. You may feel similar vibes based on Mars’ placement in your chart (see last week’s scopes). There are 2 "no pants days" this week! That's 3 Fridays in a row. Good thing I don't wear pants, because I'm too tired to take mine off!

Alrighty so, who is ready to have an awesomely awkward week? Woohoo!!! I would offer some kind of solace but bitches, I am tired. Good night!

ARIES - You know how when you change purses (or backpacks or whatever) you leave behind all kinds of crumbs and papers and change in the bottom? This full moon is going to shine a bright light into the bottom of your bank account. Ew.  The way you handle money is definitely up for examination. The Sun is in the 8th house of debts and the Full Moon is in the 2nd house of money earned. But this isn't necessarily a bad thing. After you realize that you've been paying for some stupid shit you don't need anymore and make all the numbers behave, you might also have some realizations about how you can make money in a new way.

TAURUS - Hey, good news! Closeness with your significant other or object of desire is likely to increase in the wake of this moon.  Make sure you are operating at a mature level, and not as your old self. You'll be harshly reminded if you backslide.  This full moon is also in your 1st house of self,  and the ripples of energy that come from this will last for months and set you on a new path that is more in alignment with how you feel on the inside.  In the short term, you should start to see some of the fruits of your recent efforts.

GEMINI - I'm starting to feel a bit singled out as a Gemini.  I'm joking, but it's true.  With Mars in our sign for so many months, half of it in retrograde, we are getting a break from burnout, a chance to rest and reset, and now, this moon shines a light in the back of our closet- the 12th house. Have you ever moved house and when you get your closet emptied there's just a bunch of movie tickets, gum wrappers, sweet n low packets,  lost earrings and other detritus? That's what this full moon will illuminate. Old patterns and projects you've lost track of, as well as old fears can all come up again.  It isn't to torture you (us.  I'm biting my lip with you!) - it's to scrub off that crap so growth can occur. When you start to feel bajiggity, remember your weird-ass 12th house is being activated.  It's happening for us, not to us.

CANCER - Some old talents and skills you haven't used or thought about in quite awhile could come in handy and bring in some new opportunities for you. You might meet some new people as a result of this "old" gift.  In the wake of this eclipse energy, you may start to see more clearly, the intentions and motivations, as well as the gifts of the people around you on a regular basis. If you're in a management position, this is a fantastic gift of insight.  If you aren't already, pay attention to your dream life, as you may get creative hits and ideas from your unconscious. Overall there's an emphasis on good stuff you've forgotten about.

LEO - Am I crazy (that's rhetorical. Sit down, Amanda) or have I talked a lot about your career this year? Well here we are. This full moon illuminates your public life. If you have an active social media presence, it could get kicked up a notch in the next few months.  You have Mars in your 11th house as well, which could give a boost to your social life in general, but also to your dreams and long term goals.  At any rate, your career life is getting a rejuvenating hit. The path that brings you joy is the correct path. If you're not on it yet, you will be! Be sure you are not neglecting your home and family during periods of growth and inspiration...its easy to do.

VIRGO -
This full moon lights up your 9th house of beliefs. You could have some insights or a glimpse of your future and your life once you've reached your goals.  A full moon in this house has a way of shining a light on the truth. Sagittarius is the ruler of the 9th and gives zero fucks about hurting feelings, it only cares about truth for truth's sake.  The sun is in Scorpio in your 3rd house of information as well. So if you are looking for answers, you will get them. All of this seems to point toward your career rather than your personal life (Mars is in your 10th), but I can't rule anything out. The point is that if your path no longer aligns with who you are, you gotta face it and move ahead to the next phase.

LIBRA - This full moon happens in your transformational 8th house of other people's stuff.  This can be debts, financial obligations, or psychological stuff.  In the case of the latter, look to your partner and see what is coming up between you from their closet. Or maybe you're carrying a lot of the emotional weight in the relationship (or not enough...either way, the scales are off). Things may also be completed or finalized at this time...like emotional baggage from past relationships, or financial debts and payment plans. Mars is in your 9th house so legal matters could be finalized between now and March. Intimacy is favored during this time if everyone is in their truth.

SCORPIO - This period of time could shake up relationships, or how you feel about them.  Solid relationships will benefit, but shaky relationships might be up for reconsideration. With this full moon illuminating other people, you can see them more clearly and know how to move forward.  There is such a thing as compromise, but the sun is in your 1st house of self, so don't throw yourself and your needs under the bus to keep the peace. You have to be honest with yourself.  Be somewhat gentle with yourself and with your partner during this time - because you know how you are. This placement also rules contractual work agreements and employee-employer relationships.

SAGITTARIUS - Pay attention to your body for the next few weeks, as a full moon here can illuminate issues that you weren't aware of.  This placement can also call attention to habits, routines and work projects that aren't working anymore or are no longer needed.  There might be changes afoot in your workplace that change your tasks, routine, or location.  Additionally, this is the house of service, so you might feel like you're not doing meaningful enough work.  Volunteer work is the perfect scratch for that kind of itch, and this is the time of year where it is pretty easy to find ways to give to others.

CAPRICORN - As I've mentioned, Mars is in your 6th house, possibly causing some energy shifts in your workplace, or the type of work you do.  That feeds into a loop with the planets involved in this eclipse.  Your 5th house of creating and 11th house of dreams are activated by this full moon.  You are likely to feel more inspired and creative, or realize that you are lacking inspiration, during these transits. F-u-n.  If there was ever a sign that eternally needed to experience more joy, baby it's you.  Take in some artsy stuff over the next couple of months. Don't worry about the work stuff, because you're solid and your career intuition is strong.

AQUARIUS - This full moon can bring things into completion at home - like finally getting the last boxes unpacked (speaking for myself).  Or you may have some realizations that you are not paying enough attention to your family because you are caught up in philanthropy or (likely at this time) politics.  Mars is in your creativity sector, so you may feel creatively fired up, or like someone unplugged your ideas machine.  Either way, this all seems to point to home. Taurus is about security, both financial and emotional. But Taurus is also a fantastic decorator, so maybe it's time to jazz things up. Get your family together and involved.

PISCES - This full moon takes place in your 3rd house, so things regarding siblings, your neighborhood, neighbors, social media and communication are  highlighted.  In fact this moon shines a pretty bright light on these things.  Mars is in  your 4th house of home and family as well.  Perhaps there are projects that you've been putting off at home or in your family that are starting to show their wear.  Information that hasn't been available to you can suddenly pop up out of the blue.  It might be as simple as getting a new neighbor. But if you are in any kind of publishing or broadcasting, the deal that you've been waiting for or that you didn't even know existed may show up.

BitchScopes for the week of October 24th and MARS RETROGRADE

Before I go begin, did you know BitchScopes is also a podcast now?  Find it on Apple, Spotify, or Anchor.fm/bitchscopes.  Even if you prefer to read it, please subscribe and let it play when you can, because that helps my stats.  Ok, on with the scoop!

This is obviously a very significant week where we have both a partial solar eclipse conjunct Venus, asking us to tidy up our emotional and financial messes, and Mars stationing retrograde in Gemini. Last week’s scopes I discussed where the eclipse will hit each sign’s chart. This week I will discuss the potential effects of Mars retrograde on each sign.  In general, think back to May of this year, because both the eclipse and Jupiter are harkening us there. Jupiter is backing into Pisces, where it began its retrograde, and the previous eclipse in Taurus was in May.  Also, if you think back farther - to around 1985 and 2003, see if you can pick out some themes. Those same themes are coming up again. Cycles...everything is cycles.  It's just that sometimes life feels like a spin class!

Mars is going to be in Gemini until March 2023! He will be retrograde from October 30 to January 12.  Mars retrogrades can be difficult. Mars is a very personal planet, but these retrogrades have been historically significant in the US for the last few years.  The last time Mars was retrograde was the Fall of 2020, during election time! At that time, Mars in Aries kept dancing around the final degree of Aries, never quite hitting 29°, which I described as the frustration of not being able to sexually climax. It finally “popped” in January of 2021…do you wanna guess the date? January 6th 2021, the Trump Insurrection! 29 degrees is sort of a crisis point in astrology. Mars in Aries at 29° is bound to be a fight of some kind, and holy shit was it ever!

Mars normally changes degree every 2 days. At his slowest pace, toward the beginning and end of retrograde, he spends about 8 or 9 days in a degree (going either forward or backward, then repeating another 9 days in the other direction). In 2020, Election day was November 3 and Mars was retrograde on day 5 of 16° Aries. The day after the election, Mars changed degrees to 15° Aries. Mars then stayed at 15° of for 21 days, going direct in the middle. My friend Greg Witham called this kind of planetary behavior “burning a hole”. That slow burn continued until it popped. Mars continued forward, slowly simmering until it reached boiling point on January 6th.

So that’s the kind of impact fiery Mars can have. Let’s not hope for another day of fuckery like that! We have a mid term election during Mars retrograde, this time with Mars in the Air Sign of Gemini. Air can fuel fire, so we will have to see what happens. Gemini rules communication, travel, transportation, and moving parts. Uh…Mail your ballots early and track them!!!!

The last time Mars was retrograde in Gemini was 2007/2008 when the credit industry was high on itself and the mortgage crisis was about to pop. Sounds a bit familiar, huh? Around that same time, Pluto entered Capricorn. Pluto leaves Capricorn (Thank Goddess!) for Aquarius (more on that soon) in March of 2023. A couple days later, Mars finally moves into Cancer! So I definitely think we are in for a big shift over the next few years. I mean, when aren’t we “in for a big” something?! Again, I’m so tired of living in extraordinary times. But regardless of my feelings, it is very hard to ignore these trends! So Mars in Gemini has been our escort for Pluto in Capricorn, leading us in, and seeing us out of these “extraordinary times”. Wow.

Mars moved in to 25° of Gemini last Friday October 21st. Mars will spend 19 days at 25°, going retrograde in the middle of that on October 30th. It will remain retrograde until January 12th!!

The critical midterm elections are on November 8th and Mars will change degreethe day after the election - again!! What’s with this crazy “the next day” vibe?!!

(Further adding to election day madness is another eclipse on November 8th in Taurus. That’s right, there will be an eclipse ON election day! The Universe is definitely having a say in the US elections of the last few years!! But more on that next week!) But first…

These mid term elections on November 8th are SO important. Regardless of how you vote (I really can’t imagine I have any real red readers here but love you if you are!), it is critical that you do vote. If you are a woman, particularly a woman of color, VOTE!

As for how Mars retrograde affects us personally (it is a personally planet and like it or not, politics are very personal), you should expect a slow down. Mental processes will slow down, the mail services will slow down, your computer may even slow down. This retrograde could also increase the likelihood of controversy, gossip, even scandal, as well as intellectual wars or words and rudeness. Mars in Gemini is not well filtered. So be slow to speak and be mindful of what you say and how you say it.

ARIES - Mars is your ruling planet, so the next few months you are likely to notice some significant energy. Since this Mars in Gemini transit will be camping out in your 3rd house of communication, you can expect to have old discussions or arguments come back up.  Times where your temper has been misplaced or badly expressed will been on your mind.  Where peace can be made, do it.  Forgive yourself and commit lessons learned to memory.  You are probably going to notice that your personal energy level is lower during Mars retrograde. Take this as a cue to downshift and slow down for the next few months. Re-examine what your current passions are (because we change over time), and go after them full speed in the Spring of 2023.

TAURUS - Mars will be hanging out in your 2nd house of earned income for quite awhile. If you haven't already been doing so, you can expect to find yourself looking over your budget and getting clear on what is what and why.  If you have been spending too much or sacrificing too much, this retrograde is a good opportunity to introspect on why you do what you do with money. Mars, especially Mars retrograde, can feel sluggish mixed with your 2nd house dominion. Slow and steady is practical and contrary to Mars' impulsive nature. This is going to create anxiety and restlessness in you, so just go with the flow and be a good steward of your mental & physical health.

GEMINI - As a Gemini rising myself, I write this with trembling fingers...this Mars retrograde in our sign could...make our tempers shorter and our actions more impulsive.  (Shit. shit shit shit! *breathing*) We are ok. Ok, we've got this.  We might also have feelings of insecurity coming up, as well as recollections of times we didn't feel heard or believed. Since our Gemini energy levels might be much lower than usual (shit shit shit), we may as well just sit the fuck still and do some healing.  That might include finally standing up for ourselves, or just doing some deep meditating. Mars will be chatty in this sign, so watch yourself for (excessive) shit talk.

CANCER - Mars will be in your closet for several months, and he's gonna smoke a few joints in there. That might make you feel some kinda way, but I assure you, no one is less thrilled than Mars.  Mars in this deep, watery, secretive, religious, lonely house is going to feel quite suffocated.  Mars wants to go for a run or go to the gym, not face his feelings.  You might feel a little spacier during this transit. But this could also be a very transcendental experience where you feel  connected to both your more primal nature and your spiritual potential.  Embrace a hotter side of yourself.

LEO - During Mars' time in Gemini (now through March!), you will probably start to see or feel like your tribe, team, BFF or work twin are a little out of sync or just "off".  A misunderstanding, if it hasn't already come into play, is not unlikely during these months.  Everyone needs to get on the same page, but to do that, everyone has to feel heard.  Tempers could be very unpredictable in this placement. Might be a good time to look at your hopes and dreams checklist and see if it needs to be updated. If it is on the list because of someone else's opinions, dig into that. Don't expect to feel super motivated or productive, just try to keep things level.

VIRGO - Mars will be living in your 10th house of career for quite a few months. Mars retrograde in this position could have you feeling less motivated about advancement, achievement, and authority. You may become frustrated and feel like your hard work isn’t getting you anywhere. That isn’t true. Take this period of time as an invitation to re-examine your passions for your career, and see if your fire might burn brighter someplace different

LIBRA - Your beliefs about some things have definitely changed over the last couple of years. Mars in your 9th house is bound to make you philosophical and introspective. Give yourself the grace and space to examine what your beliefs currently are and if they still line up with your life. This is a time for you to brainstorm and research rather than charge ahead with your hair on fire. When direct in the 9th house, Mars is likely to be revved up about travel and education. While it is in retrograde, planning wins over execution.

SCORPIO - Mars in the 8th house is...woo! It could be hachacha.  Maybe too much. Respect other people's boundaries and re-examine your own.  You would be wise to learn a technique to control your impulses. Make a list of pros and cons. Go for a jog. Take a shower...whatever keeps you from charging into a financial plan, scheme, or sexual encounter without enough information.  Trust and intimacy are themes of this placement, so this period of time could benefit already close relationships. Make sure to keep the communication flowing, and check in with your internal dialogues as well.

SAGITTARIUS - This placement could cause competition or confrontation with your spouse or partner (including business partners). Watch your temper and patience level, and hold yourself accountable for how you communicate.  defensiveness and back and forth drama could ensue if you are not behaving consciously.  Utilize this period of time to work on conflict resolution, or get counseling if that feels right. Delays and frustration are built in to this Mars retrograde, so keep your plans with your partner loose. Practice being the best team mate you can be during this time, and be forgiving of mistakes on the part of all parties.

CAPRICORN - This placement rules your work environment and routine.  If you work in a job sector that is Gemini-ruled (communication, travel, publishing etc.), you may feel this most directly.  Something you've probably already had your eye on is your day to day routine. Something may feel out of whack or just isn't working for you.   Do you need to get up earlier? Do you need more unscheduled time in your day? Guess what else is ruled by the 6th house...health. Yep. It's time you got it together and got your tests or scans or appointments lined up. It might be time for a new doctor.  Watch yourself for feeling like things "have to" get done and anxiety around who what and where. That anxiety and frustration means you're pushing forward prematurely.

AQUARIUS - If you feel burned out or creatively stuck, this transit could help.  The trick is being able to pull from your internal well of genius, rather than depending on the world at large to inspire you.  Dig deep.  When a topic or issue comes to mind that is interesting, put it on a list and do some exploration. Issues with your own children (and sometimes other people's) are likely to come up during this time. Try not to get locked in a battle of wills (or arguments online) with teenagers, or people of other generations.  This house also rules romance, so it could slow down or feel like it is backing off.  It could also deepen a bit if you use that internal fire to your advantage.

PISCES - Frustrations around your home of origin, current house, or family issues are likely over the next few months.  Whatever comes up is going to hang around for awhile so don't feel rushed to resolve everything instantly. If you've been hiding or embracing denial about some frustration in regards to your home life,  give yourself a safe space to process your true feelings.  If you need to release some anger, try listening to some loud and aggressive music. I do this when I am driving, but if that doesn't feel safe to you, do it at home when you're alone and just have a rage rave.  Then take a bubble bath. Lather, rinse, repeat.  The resolution/solution will present itself when it is ready.
