There’s an awful lot of Mercury afoot. Mostly our ability to communicate effectively is enhanced this week. But external influences may cause a shift in how we communicate. In other words, you might get pissed off and your mouth may let them know about it. In this case, your tongue can be a pretty sharp sword. Sometimes that’s a good thing. But be careful how and with whom you express yourself. Relationships may feel a little wonky and slightly out of sync. It will pass. Another reason to keep your words in check. Well, the bitches are busy this week, kids! And by “bitches”, I mean the goddesses (over half the many transits this week involve the asteroids).. Vesta fans the flames of our professional or vocational passions, Lilith creates sparks of rebellion by making several strong aspects, and Eris is there to just sprinkle some gasoline on the fire. Then there’s the full moon to illuminate any irritations we might be covering. But don’t fret! In between irritations and annoyances, we do get an injection of fun. The sun moves into Leo this week, reminding us the importance of play and creativity. Clients often tell me that they are not creative when I suggest the need for an outlet. But it isn’t just about scrapbooking, painting, knitting and decorating. Creativity can come via gardening, cooking, sex, or just laughter and joyful movement. Apologies for my posting this later than usual. I got a migraine headache, which started a day before the new moon in Cancer. It is connected to hormones, and my daughter’s cycles seem to trigger mine. Great fun. I looked at when I last had a killer migraine it was in February at the end of a Gemini moon cycle. Gemini is my ascendant, and apparently transits to your ascendant can cause headaches. Since this is a moon transit...my hormones (and the literal fruit of my loins and her hormones) are involved. This week your thoughts may be pretty pointed and you could find yourself wanting to call someone on their bullshit. While Neptune is retrograde, our intuition is actually stronger, and we may see a situation with a unique clarity. But of course we have to be prudent and sheath our sharp tongue for our own benefit, because the focus this week is truly about nurturing our loved ones and finding support from them for ourselves. Both career and partner relationships are on stage this week. Your partner is likely to be a source of support for you, or you to them. But I’m choosing to interpret that as a desire for positive change within the relationship based on new information rather than old baggage. In looking over the major aspects this week, it appears that both personal sense of confidence and relationships are highlighted, as well as some Uranian surprises, and the awkward adjustments of quincunxes. July as a whole appears to be full of adjustments, because there are quite a few ingresses (when a planet moves into a new sign) happening this month. There are 9 total ingresses in July (counting asteroids)! When a planet moves into a sign, the enthusiasm and energy of that sign and planet are heightened. It’s almost like the enthusiasm of Aries...ready to get in there and get er done! This week there are some really optimistic and helpful transits. But overall, there seems to be this push-pull, teeter totter between self and other. The moon is full in Capricorn, which rules the 10th house. But the moon rules the 4th house, just opposite the 10th house. So that lunation alone creates a family vs. job vibe. This is one of those weeks where there are many juxtapositions of conflicting energy. This is true throughout the week, and also on some individual days - there will be dualing transits working in different directions. As a result, we are likely to feel pretty edgy. The big news this week is the 2nd Saturn square Uranus transit on Monday (tension, challenges, changes). Not to be outdone, however, is dwarf planet Pluto making several strong aspects to other planets, indicating power plays and touchy triggers. AND, Eris and Lilith both make a notable appearance, indicating that, we will likely “stand with a fist” (remember her from Dances with Wolves?). How this plays out and whose fist wins will depend on the location of Eris and Lilith in your chart, and the chart of those you live and work with.
