Bitches Get Shit Done - BitchScopes for January 9-16, 2023

My vibe about this week is that there’s a lot of energy bubbling up and wanting to be expressed. One of the most important transits this week is Mars stationing direct. So, if there have been things you’ve wanted to get done but have felt blocked or too tired etc, that’s going to shift now and you can get more shit done.

Mars is usually only in a sign for about 6 weeks, but Mars entered Gemini in August 2022 and won’t leave until March 2023! (and if you read or listened to my 2023 highlights, you know there's some other major stuff happening in March!)  That’s 7 months in a sign! You might have a vague sense of frustration, or that something is happening as Mars stations direct and then starts to gain forward speed. Then there will be a breakthrough of some kind - it might be subtle or obvious - but progress is going to start happening.

One caveat to this direct transit of Mars is trying to do too much because you suddenly feel like doing everything. Mercury quincunx Mars next monday might create a temptation to burn the candle at both ends. But if you don’t pace yourself, you could end up spinning your wheels unnecessarily. Make some lists about where you feel stuck and things you’re ready to launch and then make plans. I hate fireworks, but here I go with an analogy - imagine buying the (stupid) $100 package of fireworks and then just lighting the package on fire rather than taking out the individual (stupid) fireworks and lighting (and I guess enjoying) them one at a time.

This week, despite the fact that Mercury is retrograde, there are good communication vibes available to us, particularly in relationships. Partnerships and relationships can also really benefit our feelings of security and support our individual goals and desires.

There’s also some stubbornness and rebelliousness in the air this week, thanks mostly to Eris. Your tendencies and desire to individuate, express, and maybe fight should be monitored this week so that you don’t blow up something that is actually good for you. Healthy individuality is what you are looking for. For most of us, we don’t need to have a rebellious meltdown in order to achieve it. But if you feel trapped in something, that wild energy could come in handy for your own self preservation.

Neptune sextiles the Sun this week, so we may be a little sensitive on Friday. The same individuation struggles I discuss above could also be happening for your friends and partner(s), and you might feel butthurt if they aren’t great at how they approach it. Friday has some another aspect to it that might mitigate some of the sensitivity…

This week we have Friday the 13th which is a Goddess Day. Rather than being unlucky, it is very beneficial for female empowerment. Friday is named for the goddess Frigga (or Freyja) - the Norse/Germanic goddess of marriage and fertility. Her gifts are clairvoyance, cleverness, and prophecy. The number 13 is a feminine number that corresponds to 13 lunar (menstrual) cycles a year. So if you want to empower your feminine side, its a fun day to make up a little ceremony for yourself, and it can be as simple as setting an intention to using your voice or standing up for yourself more, and lighting a candle with that intention.

Over the weekend there’s a number of transits that could make people a bit pissy, so it may not be the best time for a get together or first date with someone you don’t know well. You’re better off playing some Stevie Nix and baking or… conjuring heehee.

ARIES - Depending on how you’ve experienced Mars retrograde, you might start feeling your fire coming back (not that it went away, hello!) with Mars going direct. Communication and publishing projects can fully take off in the very near future, in part because you have been forced to do the boring homework. This week you might just feel like being alone or burying yourself in some work. You might be a bit touchy this weekend, as that Eris energy is in your 1st house. I wouldn’t advise first dates or business meetings if you can avoid it this week. Do solitary activities that make you feel strong and vibrant.

TAURUS - You can begin to see your bank account come back to life now with Mars going direct in your 2nd house. Create a savings plan, even if it is humble. The best use of your energy this week, which might be a bit more internally directed, is dreaming about your long term and loftiest goals. Write down 5-10 things you want to experience, even the “crazy” things that seem unattainable. Take a look at your list and categorize them in order of easiest to hardest. Write down the next step for each of them and then put this list somewhere that you have to look at it every day (the bathroom mirror, taped over your computer screen, etc). Watch this list all year.

GEMINI - You might really start to feel your energy increase (mental or physical) as Mars gains forward speed. This week is all about being with people who make you feel safe and understood. Make a plan for this week to spend time with friends who are like minded, understand you, or have similar passions as you. You will be grateful for a friend or 2 that you can “go off” with, get fired up about something with, or just have a bitchfest with. It will result in laughter, no matter how serious the topic. If work is wearing on your this week, find comfort in your partner or someone that you deeply trust.

CANCER - You might poke your head out of your winter shell this week long enough to get fired up about something at work. Go off! People mistake cancers for pushovers, and frankly, that is a big mistake! So sound off where your voice is needed. After that, hunkering down with someone you love is the best use of your energy this week. You might feel a little extra sensitive about your hopes and dreams, because maybe you feel stuck or stagnant. Give yourself and your career some grace. Talk it out with your business or life partner and you’ll feel better.

LEO - Your social life might start to perk up with Mars going direct. People that you share a goal or dream with will be the people you feel most connected to for a few weeks. Maybe these are the friends you know via volunteer or charity work. You may feel restless this week, like you want to run away to another country for awhile. Go for it if you can. If you can’t, chances are you just need a little fun and adventure in your life, so find it where you can. If your love life seems way off right now, don’t sweat it…your perspective may not be seeing things for what they really are.

VIRGO - All work and no play makes Virgo a dull sign. Haha. Play is not just good for you, but this week it might be the thing you are most drawn to. Your career is going to pick up and be busier over the next several weeks, but you’ll be torn because you will just want to have fun! You might also notice that your work feels more fun over the next week or so. Your sense of individuality and desire for independence might hamper your intimate connections briefly, but it will all settle down, unless you’re with someone who dampens your independent spirit, in which case you might need to rethink things.

LIBRA - Travel plans that you make now will give you something to look forward to over the next few months. Work may feel tedious and get on your nerves, especially this week. Home and family will be your sanctuary, with one caveat…You might feel particularly irritated by your spouse or partner over the weekend. So take the necessary precautions or give yourself the pep talk you need to not set everything on fire. This is just a brief annoyance for most.

SCORPIO - Remember your sex life? It might perk up now with Mars going direct in your 8th house. This week it might still feel off because you might feel extra sensitive. Don’t push forward if life throws a wrench in your gears this week. If you reach an obstacle, rather than using stubborn determination to push through, just sit down. This holds true at work too, where you might feel frustrated by stupidity and ineffectiveness. Try not to burn anything down unless its your metaphorical bedroom.

SAGITTARIUS - Your partnership and family houses are all active this week. You might be ready to move things forward with a relationship as Mars gains forward speed in your 7th house. But Eris is all fired up in your romance house, so one of you might feel left out or unappreciated. Pay attention and head that off at the pass if you can. Otherwise, don’t panic, because its just an energy spike and it will pass. Making money will be an area of focus for a few weeks, so concentrate on that rather than how much your mother is irritating you this week in particular.

CAPRICORN - Happy Birthday, if I haven’t said that yet. Work is likely to get much busier over the next few weeks as Mars is going direct in your 6th house. That will suit you fine because you may need something to distract you from obsessing about something just out of your reach. Some issue about your home, or being at home might be a bee in your bonnet this week, but it will pass. Put your energy into writing and publishing and other things you are really good at.

AQUARIUS - The good news is that your romantic life and sense of fun will be perking up over the next few weeks. The “other” news is that you might find yourself in a bit of a tiff or argument about money with someone this week. Eris is a little lit up in your 3rd house, so you are likely to go off and hand someone their ass. It wouldn’t be the first time, eh? The best use of your time might be getting some proper rest, especially if the holiday break has your hours all screwed up.

PISCES - Friendship will be a soothing balm this week. Your friends get you and understand you and that will go far in making you feel good right now. Your house of money (earned) could feel a little touchy this weekend, but honestly, everything is fine. Use your extra sensitivity to intuit your next right steps forward on whatever you are working on. Your need for independence is strong right now, whether it is independence from your family, from your source of income, or from friends that don’t lift you up. Follow your intuition!

Full Moon in Cancer - BitchScopes for January 2-9, 2023!

Happy New Year! New Year is a weird concept to me. I know we have to track time, I mean...I guess. We gotta know how old we are, when to go to work and what time to pick up the kids.  January seems kinda arbitrary. The Zodiacal new year is in March of course, with Aries. That feels more sensible..spring, new life, etc.  So I feel like those religions and traditions make a bit more sense than our weird Gregorian calendar or whatever.  Honestly, I wish we could celebrate a new year in like, July or September. Around July I am just sick to fucking death of whatever is going on in that year and ready for it to end. "End"...which is really just rolling into another month. So I don't really get the whole concept, other than hey cool, I get a new calendar.

But here we are in 2023. Look at my metallic jumpsuit and instant nail polish and hovercraft vehicle which runs on cat shit. oooooh. Neat! The future is cool!

Annnnyway, there are very clear messages from the Universe that we need to slow down. This is a great week to recover from travel, family angst, messy houses,  depleted bank accounts, low physical energy, and just the holidays in general. Rest. Recover.  Even if you have to go to work, take it easy if you have the option.   Mars is still retrograde, Mercury is retrograde, and Uranus is retrograde. Uranus is an outer planet that is more of societal vibe, but he's also responsible for progress and technology and brilliant ideas. We might have the ideas now, especially because all that mental energy is internalized, but doing something with the ideas would be an uphill battle. And that's if you could find the motivation while Mars is retrograde.   So, we are invited to slow down and just observe life and make lists and set goals.
We have a cool full moon this week, and you won't hear me say that about many full moons.  I may have to eat my words... we shall see.  This is a Cancer full moon and those are typically pretty emo.  But this one offers more than just wadded up kleenex in your purse from crying on the way to work. This moon is sextile Uranus and is exactly trine Vesta. Uranus' influence here is excitement, new points of view, a broadened way of experiencing things, and breakthroughs in general (probably emotional ones rather than intellectual ones). Vesta is the goddess of devotion to the hearth and the home.  Vesta in modernity can pertain to your higher calling, your work, or what you are most devoted to.  Also in modern times we are likely to have that be more than a single thing.   Cancer is the sign that rules our roots and foundations, our physical home, and our family of origin.  So there's a very clear message here to be present with our feelings about home and family.  Review your traditions and obligations and see what (and who!) does and doesn't work for you now. Times change, people change, families change. Insisting that you have Xmas morning brunch with the extended family may not be important or practical anymore.  More cooking, less gifts, shared work loads, changes to traditions, decisions about who you can tolerate and who you can't, ideas about how to work around difficult areas within the family dynamic...there's no wrong way to examine your thoughts and feelings this week.

This moon suggests that this is a great opportunity to spend  time with the people who make you feel loved and nurtured. Great conversation is likely.  It's just all very feely around the "hearth".  If you either do not have family, or family that you like, or are just isolated for any reason, you can absolutely pull down the energy of this full moon to feel the nurturing power of the Universe. Spend some time looking at the moon, or meditating on the feelings you have.  Offer up any pain or wounds for clearing.  Ask to have those painful things replaced with something that feels nurturing. Maybe in the next couple weeks you will get some kind of offer that will fill your cup!  Anything is possible.

Alternately, you are perfectly allowed to lie in bed and cry and eat stale Xmas cookies.  Because that is also a very Cancer thing to do.  Whatever you do with this time, be gentle with yourself.  This is a very sensitive time of year, so if you need to NOT be alone, please reach out.  I know many of you are struggling with relationships and family issues right now, so do whatever you can to protect yourself from too much darkness.  Being gloomy and grumpy is fine.  Being despondent is not.  Know when you need a little help. Asking for help is not weak, its strong!

Opposite the moon is the Sun in goal oriented and ambitious Capricorn, and that may be more of a focus for some of us. Nurturing your work, your goals, and your close professional relationships are also valuable uses of time. This is not a strong week for blazing through to-do lists and getting shit done. Its a good week to have mental insights and review everything on our desk.  The Sun conjuncts Mercury this week, which is an indication that you might have an a-ha moment.  Look at your projects as far back as 6 months ago and see if they're complete.  They may need to be finished, or scrapped, re-worked, or be completely irrelevant now.

As for the rest of this week's astrology, it's a fairly uncomplicated week. There are some good transits for social activities (Venus trine Mars in particular). There are a couple that might cause some relationship tension, but nothing huge.   Other than the emotions of a Cancer full moon, it's a mixed bag of nothing real major, and ain't that a fucking thrill in itself?

Aries

This full moon falls in your 4th house of roots and foundation.  How is your family supporting you or sabotaging you? Look at the family dynamics in your life and see how you might shift things to support your more spiritual work and goals. With this full moon you can reset, release, and realign yourself with your soul purpose, and also around mother issues. Do you have the relationship you want with your mother or with your children? What are the boulders in the middle of the river? Are you judging yourself or your mother too harshly? Is your acceptance equal to or greater than your awareness of any negative influences?  Write down some clear goals from your heart and contemplate what steps will get you there.

Taurus

With this Cancer full moon hitting your 3rd house, you might see changes in your immediate environment such as house projects completed.  This is also the house of communication and socializing and full moons can illuminate things.  Gossip is prevalent in this placement. So if your friends have any secrets, the tea might be spilled now. You have an opportunity within your social circles to interact differently and likely in a healthier way. If your social circle does not nurture you, or if you find yourself having trouble truly caring about them, it may be time for some gentle clearing out of the old pals.

Gemini

This full moon illuminates your 2nd house of earned income.  In addition to highlighting and boosting your financial situation, this moon can bring up emotions around how you feel valued (or don't).  Maybe you're not getting as much as you're giving at work (probably true!) Consider some releasing around feelings of obligation and the idea that you have to bust your ass to get ahead or even to stay afloat. Hard work is fine, but overwork is not.  What are the fucked up beliefs you've inherited about working hard? Also, who do you pay first when you get paid? It should always, always be you. Even if that means being late on an obligation.

Cancer

Well you're sure to feel a bit vulnerable and emo with this full moon beaming into your 1st house of self.  Feelings of insecurity might have you wanting to withdraw, cancel plans, and skip the things you thought you were going to do this month.  It is important that you confide in someone you trust about feeling meh.  Part of the reason you might be feeling scared is that people are noticing you...oh shit. Listen...adjust your perspective.  People are noticing you for all the right reasons.  Take time to release your feelings of insecurity in exchange for confidence.

Leo

This full moon lands in your 12th house of rest and isolation. Take time this week to be by yourself and calm the noise around you.  Listen to your heart.  Release things that are burdening you to this full moon.  Guilt looms large in the 12th house, and that's always a  good thing to release! Move slowly and be gentle with yourself as you navigate what might be some difficult shadow feelings about money and feeling supported. Let the moon nurture you and remind you that you are cared for!

Virgo

This full moon hits your 11th house and puts the spotlight on your tribe, your audience, your peeps. Cancer is a nurturing energy like your own, so take time to give some love to your friendships and associates.  If you need to do some releasing with this full moon, perhaps consider the friendships that are uneven and unequal.  Where do you give too much and which friends are just takers? It might be time to let them go.

Libra

You're a hard worker and that will be illuminated by this full moon.  How is your work-life balance? Cancer wants to nurture, so take a moment and BE nurtured.  What can you release along this axis of home and career? The 10th house is ruled by Saturn, so guilt can be a real issue for you.  Are you feeling guilty about not working enough? Stop that and let that shit go! Let things just be enough, because YOU are enough.  What is keeping you from feeling your most confident in life and at work? Let that shit go too!

Scorpio

With the full moon falling in your 9th house, you might be taking stock of your long term goals and feeling some kinda way about those goals, whether you've met them, or if you even want to.  Let go of any aspirations that you have that aren't from your heart and don't align with your soul.  Those are someone else's and you can release them now.  Also, what might be standing in the way of you having more adventure, experience and travel and education?  Whatever those obstacles are, give them up to the Universe at this time and clear the path forward.

Sagittarius

You could be feeling pretty snuggly and vulnerable this week because this moon hits your 8th house of intimacy.  Closeness with a partner is the obvious solution.  But there might also be a deep discussion that needs to be had, or some kind of personal healing around intimacy.  How open can you be? If wounds are holding you back from deep connection, allow those to be healed. Sometimes we hang on to pain for various reasons, but there always comes a time when it is right to release it.  This is also a house of secrets, and the full moon may illuminate some.  This is always for your highest good, but if it is too hard to carry, connect with someone you trust and let them support and nurture you during this time.

Capricorn

The full moon in Cancer lights up your 7th house of partnerships.  So you may feel a deepening or a boost in the light of this moon.  Things you've been working on around your relationships and partnerships can feel completed or fulfilled around now.  This is a good moon to release excess co-dependency.  All relationships are co-dependent to a point, but there is always that line that, when crossed, becomes unhealthy attachment to someone else's moods, behaviors, and other shit.  Be clear about your own energy and send love to the areas of relating that may need some vitamins.

Aquarius

This moon hits your 6th house, so you might gain some (unexpected) awareness around a health issue or how you care for yourself.  Especially because this is a Cancer full moon, self care is the end all right now.  Release any feelings you have around poor health, feeling your body has failed you, or things like adrenal fatigue from overworking and stress.  Set yourself up for good mental health by including self care in your daily routine. Release any stubbornness (what? You?!) around avoiding things like doctors and appointments you know you should take care of!

Pisces

This Cancer full moon is set up to beam nurturing goodness into your 5th house of romance and creativity.  Lead with your heart this week. Include play in your routine.  Be open to warm fuzzies. Even if you are not in a relationship, this full moon could help you remember to be dreamy and hopeful. And as the trite cliche saying goes - love yourself first.  That doesn't mean you need to be perfect about it, but try to imagine how you would want your lover to treat you and do some of those things for your self!  Release any jaded or wounded viewpoints you might have accumulated due to dating frustration and the like.

Major Astro Highlights for 2023 and long term predictions

2023 has 3 major players changing signs…actually 4.  Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter, and the Lunar Nodes will all move into new signs this year! That’s a lot! Pluto changes signs only every 20 years. Saturn changes signs every 3 ½ years. The lunar nodes shift around every 18 months. And Jupiter changes signs each year.  For all of those major outer planets to be changing in one year spells some major changes.  Luckily they aren’t all going to happen this year, but the ingress of each of these planets will be felt!

Pluto is the slowest and creates the deepest social changes. Saturn is felt more personally but also rules social structures.  Jupiter is so big that honestly, it touches everything. Luckily, Jupiter’s influence is mostly beneficial, with the warning that it can lead to over-doing things.

Let’s break down what’s happening this year and look at some of my predictions

Pluto in Aquarius

On March 23, 2023 Pluto will move into Aquarius for the first time since 1778.  If that date rings a bell, that’s the birthdate of the USA, which is why you’ve been hearing about the US’s Pluto return. It’s evident if you observe or live in the US that things are rather unsettled (ahem: understatement?)

Interesting side note here - look at the date of this ingress - 3/23/23.

Pluto in Capricorn gave power to government and corporations in its 20 year reign.  Now power will be shifting to the people.  That is probably not going to happen quietly. Aquarius represents rebellion, and I’m sure we’ll see plenty more of what we are already seeing.

Pluto in Aquarius is also going to favor feminism, tribes and smaller collectives within the major collective.

Themes: Power & control, scapegoating, revolution, transformation, societal norms and rules, Shadows, humanitarianism, personal freedoms, death and dying,  Innovation, Fanaticism (fixed energy + power), Questioning authority, questioning technology,  Science,

My Pluto in aquarius predictions

  • more humanitarianism, perhaps even mandated charity
  • Discovery of misuse of funds by some charities
  • More blue states
  • The reappearance of workers unions
  • Major rise in Technology and spike in the use of Artificial intelligence
  • Questions of the ethics around robotics, AI, and synthetic companions (see the show WifeLike)
  • Questions and examinations of social media, concepts of privacy, perhaps conversations about the NSA
  • Tik Tok will be out and I think YouTube will regain some popularity
  • Changes in the film industry practices in general: The Alec Baldwin issue, ethics in pornography, equal pay
  • Kardashians are out
  • Gun control is very likely to happen over this 20 year period. Hopefully sooner than later!
  • Changes in the funeral industry and the way we bury people (mushroom suits, tree pods etc. becoming more popular)
  • science as the new religion
  • fanaticism about science,  death,  about “the fountain of youth”, and discoveries in Science about delaying or defeating death!
  • Libertarianism becoming a viable 3rd party
  • A revamping of the UN
  • First female president in the US is not only likely, but its overdue. If we don’t accomplish that in the next 20 years then…WTF
  • Scottish independence - This prediction is backed by Scotland’s history and other astro events. Their exit from the UK would have major implications for Britain.
  • The end of plutocracy, the Elon era, and the 1% bullshit
  • When Pluto retrogrades into Capricorn and squares the lunar nodes, I predict business with Trump will be trying to finalize in some way.
  • a rise in fascist vs anti fascist discussions, activity, demonstrations (the world is ripe for a new fascist dictator)

Saturn in Pisces

On March 7 Saturn will leave Aquarius for Pisces. This should be interesting! These are totally opposite energies - Saturn is boundaries and rules and Pisces is connectedness and spiritual.

Saturn in Pisces Dates

February 14th 1935, to April 25th 1937
October 17th 1937, to January 14th, 1938
March 23rd, 1964, to September 16th, 1964
December 16th, 1964, to March  3rd, 1967
May 21st, 1993, to June 30th, 1993
January 28th, 1994, to April  7th, 1996
March  7th, 2023, to May 24th, 2025
September  1st, 2025, to February 13th, 2026

Themes: Religion, discipline, boundaries, lack of boundaries, confronting addiction, charity, compassion, depression, melancholy,  immigration law, Fascism vs anti fascism (again. This concept will be big).

We are already seeing a decline in organized religions, and Christianity has come under heavy criticism over the last few years.  As Christianity declines (its a cycle…it’ll come back, weirder), antisemitism is likely to surge.

Hitler came into power during Saturn in Pisces,

  • Emergence of belief systems that focus on autonomy (the church of satan was founded under saturn in pisces)

he wanted to eradicate the Christian church. We already know what else he wanted to eradicate.  Also during this transit, the Church of England allowed its first female priests.  New age and esoteric religions have generally become popular during these cycles.

Saturn in Pisces could be lonely, and we might see a lot more discussion around depression. The health care entities in the Western world are likely to formally embrace mental health care in a more significant way. Also very likely are more public discussions about substance additions, recovery, sobriety.  Melancholy will be a theme that we will see played out in music, movies, and literature. Nihilism will slowly move on as we realize that we can’t just sit on our asses and be sad about climate doom etc.

My Predictions for Saturn in Pisces

  • Melancholy as an artform and cultural vibe
  • Israel- Palestine escalation
  • Birth control protection will be codified (birth control was developed under Saturn in Pisces)
  • Religious zealotry
  • Minimum age issues examined (driving, drinking, social media ad targeting, etc).
  • Regulation over technology
  • Big pharma will be called out in a major way, and western medicine will begin to move away from hard core pain killers (I just saw a new technique for post C-sections that involves an implanted thread that delivers just lidocaine to the area via a balloon and pump!)
  • Prison reform - specifically I expect to see some people released who are in prison for just Cannabis.
  • A new prohibition and attempts to de-popularize drinking.  Non drinkers as a new social norm (bespoke mocktails industry is already forming)
  • Conspiracy theories will settle down
  • Younger generations who have been complaining about our collective doom will need to get their shit together and get jobs.
  • Interest in Psychology will surge
  • Psychedelics will be the new Marijuana

Jupiter in Taurus

On May 16, Jupiter will leave Aries for Taurus. Jupiter has a tendency to color the year as a whole. Jupiter in Aries has given us confidence, which we needed as we came out of a frickin pandemic.  We started new things, whether it was a new business, or new ways of self care.  Jupiter in Taurus will help us nurture those things.  This is like the 2nd phase of a 12 step process and we go from infancy to toddlerhood.  But like any good toddler, Jupiter in Taurus can definitely go overboard and do too much of something...like open the peanut butter and smear it from head to toe. Jupiter will expand whatever it touches. So major transits like the conjunction to the north node will make that energy extra strong.

My Jupiter in Taurus Predictions:

  • Be careful who you put your faith in (the world is ripe for a fascist leader)
  • Pleasure seeking & Hedonism will surge for a bit (society is already moving away from organized religion)
  • Liberalism and the Labor Parties will be strengthened.
  • Theme of rebuilding (various things around the world, some cities and countries, literally)

Venus Retrograde

On July 23 (another 23) Venus will begin a retrograde cycle.  Venus retrogrades are not common and we tend to feel them pretty profoundly.  Not all relationships are doomed, of course. In fact, the transit of Venus through Leo (and the retrograde makes that a longer transit than normal) will bring out romanticism and sappyness.  We will want to be coupled, loved, seen, adored, appreciated (all Venus things). But that can also make us feel vulnerable.

Venus will retrograde in Leo, the sign that rules romance, at 28° and will station direct at 12° Leo on September 24th.  If there was ever a retrograde where old loves might show up, its this one! Romance also might be a bit dramatic, like the last scene of a romcom where one person is racing against time to catch the other person.

Just because an old love is knockin' on the door, doesn't mean you have to open it!

Focus on people that bring out the best in you, regardless of Venus' placement!

Mercury retrogrades every year, so I won't spend too much time on this.  All of Mercury's retrogrades this year are in Earth signs, so themes are: malfunctions with physical things like cars, phones, etc.,  security, money, authority, confidence; focus on practicality rather than introspection

Mercury Retrograde in Taurus  April 21 - May 14

Themes: purchases, money, income, what we value, insecurity/security

Mercury Retrograde in Virgo  August 23 - September 15

Themes: plans go awry, things stop working, overanalyzing, be prepared, anxiety

Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn and Sagittarius December 13 - January 1 (similar to how we just ended a year in merc rx in cap!)

Themes: system reset, double-check travel plans, monitor your expectations, be realistic, slow down, avoid heated discussions at the holiday table (I'm lookin' at you Sagittarius!)

Lunar nodes moving into Aries (N) and Libra (S)

On July 18 the nodes of the moon will shift signs from the North Node in Taurus to the North Node in Aries (and the South Node in Libra).  This is an 18 month cycle. For reference, the last time the North Node was in Aries was 2005-2006.  In reverse, the last time the North Node was in Libra was 2014-2015.

These transits can be very personally enlightening and they always trigger path corrections or big moves forward. For example, I am a natal capricorn north node. The last time the NN was in Cap was 2009-2011 and that is precisely when I left my marriage …TO a cancer, it was completely codependent (because he was abusive so I walked on eggshells), which is very cancerian.  While the NN was in Cancer in 2020, I left my corporate job (which was a lot like my marriage!) to be my own boss (capricorn). The north node entered cancer on what would have been my anniversary!

Under the North Node in Taurus, we are likely to be experiencing a release of things like seducing, manipulating, using sex as a weapon, being overly secretive, relying on other people’s money.  And we likely have experienced an increased focus on: truth, grounding yourself, sex as a means of connection, no bullshit, making your own money.

As the North Node moves into Aries, we can expect to be working on releasing: Hiding behind relationships, accepting 2nd place in a partnership,  being too comfortable/complacent, avoiding confrontation, competition and challenge, being the peace keeper, compromising too much, being passive aggressive or co-dependent.

And our lessons will be around embracing our own leadership, prioritizing our own needs and goals, risk taking, standing up for what you believe in, self care, learning to express anger in a positive and healthy way.

Eclipses

The last eclipses on this lunar axis were in 2014-2015. Think back to major events during that time and you will get a flavor of the upcoming eclipses. But they are never exactly the same, so don't apply too much literalness to it.

Total Solar Eclipse in Aries  April 20

Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio  May 5

Solar Eclipse in Libra  October 14

Lunar Eclipse in Taurus  October 28
